Resisting. The urge to listen to the song. Bah.
I'm not going to ration this one too much. Four weeks of it. Will get even more impatient about the long break, though. And this forum will be so dead when that happens.

[MP3 of dubbed Bink's Brew from episode 380](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/89913256/Binks Brew.mp3). I've removed some of the dialog/sfx using the 5.1 mix to get as clean a rip of the song as I could.

Hmm. Well then

I just tried it Arc and it worked for me. Try it again and if it doesn't work, I'll send it to you directly, if you'd like.

Bink's Brew! This is the best Easter weekend EVER! Thank you so much for that LostTimeLord!
-
Watched three episodes. Good stuff. I like how they handled the final round of the fight. Felt much more climactic than the rest. And the voice change for Moria was cool. Looking forward to the Zoro sacrifice scene. And, of course, Bink's Brew.
But I've got to ration this set at least a little– we won't be getting any more until July or August.
-
Turned out I did get my DVD today and I happened to have time to watch a couple episodes…......all of them...
The ending to Oars was awesome, Zoro's sacrifice was awesome, awesome Brook flashback, awesome Binks' Brew. And then I reached the Spa Island episodes...........I think I got a headache. Between the little girl's voice and her father's voice it was kind of a hard sit.
Also it kind of slipped my mind that Crocus would have a different voice actor, though he didn’t have enough dialogue for me to really care too much how he sounded.
-
Wow that Brink's Brew was great! Thanks for sharing! I guess mine should arrive on Tuesday.

Possibly because I'm on mobile. A direct link would be awesome, yes.
-
So which episodes got the commentators this time around?
-
Episode 377 'The Pain Of My Crewmates is My pain. Zoro's Desperate Fight' has a commentery with Chris Sabat and Eric Vale and episode 384 'Brook's Great Struggle. Is The Path To Becoming A True Comrade Rigorous?' has a commentary with Colleen Clinkenbeard and Stephanie Young. Also, 'In The Booth With The Strawhats' is 27 minutes long and looks like a jokey Q&A with Brina Palencia, Stephanie Young, Eric Vale, Ian Sinclair and Joel McDonald.

Season 6 Voyage Four is currently the #1 Best Seller in Anime on Amazon right now!
-
yea I saw that. I am glad it is selling pretty well. and if I saw it correctly, collection 12 isn't that far behind.
I have to say, that after watching some of the episodes so far, I think they did so well with the first half of the episodes. Zoro's sacrifice was great and brinks brew is awesome. I also love how they replaced the japanese text with english text now….though I am going to be honest, it was really weird looking at first.
-

Whoa. That'll be useful once these episodes eventually hit Toonami.
Wait, did this already happen on the last release?
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
In episode 362, the Japanese text on the screen is replaced with English text, for the first time in the show that I can remember. In the past it's always been subtitled.
I like this, because eventually, on-screen text will become very important, and thus far, FUNi hasn't been hard-subtitling the episodes they're sending to Toonami.
Oh yeah, I said it myself three months ago. -.-;
-
Would just like to say I loved the special features on this new set. Possibly some of the best commentaries to date. The "In the Galley" special feature is adorable as well too. Ian Sinclair is such a funny guy; dam it Dandy is such a great Brook, lol
-
So Funimation is now replacing the Japanese text with English text? That's pretty cool and all, but doesn't it seem a little late/random? We're at the last voyage of the sixth season, why did they decide to start now? It kind of bothers me a little because Funimation probably won't go back and reedit the previous seasons or Strong World, so I'm a little miffed at the inconsistency of it all, but at least it's a good sign for the episodes and movies ahead. I wonder if editing the credits for Film: Z had anything to do with this change in policy, or if they just randomly decided to go for it.
-
I'm sure the Japanese text has been replaced in the past, though for some reason they stopped or something. When I first started watching the dub there was definitely English text in certain places, like on the maps for Alabasta and such, and then all of a sudden they stopped translating it all.
Loved the Bink's Brew MP3, though kind of bummed that the last bit didn't have any of the dialogue. I'm looking forward to hearing how Ian handled that part, and I have no idea when episodes will be online anywhere since Funi is a bunch of jerks. :( But, holy shit that faint, ghostly bit of Yorkie saying how the Rumbar Pirates must love music, and how they'll return for Laboon, gave me chills. I hope the proper-volume version does the same when I get to see it.
-
I felt underwhelmed with Ian Sinclair's performance during the "I'm so glad to be alive" scene. It seemed to be way more impactful a moment in Japanese

Pic please? I'd actually like to see this.

It's even more annoying because his first section of crying just before the flashback starts is fine

What about during, as living Brook? I wish so damn bad they hadn't gone and fucked up adding the episodes to their site for subscribers. I really want to see how Ian handled Brook's quiet crying as the Rumbar Pirates drop one by one during the song.

Why do you have a problem with a filler arc? They're filler for a reason? XD I never even saw that arc when it came, so to you it sucks donkey balls. But to me, it could be a fun little arc that we'll never see again… So? XD Also isn't there A filler episode where the daughter of a dead marine soldier was trying to protect her giant Beatle friend?

OK….I'm not sure why you have such a problem with me not liking these episodes. If you do, good for you, I guess.
And really it wasn't the episodes themselves I disliked; they weren't great but I've seen worse from filler stories (also it was relatively short, so I didn't mind it that much). I was just not a fan of the voices they had for the two particular characters I mentioned; they just seemed really off-putting and forced to me.

Well… The Japanese version wasn't that serious either. Why do you think there was a forum user who used a gif animation of Nami basically quote unquote "jiggle her breasts" Come on, man! Those animators are telling us something? That One Piece is part of the illuminati! "Que. The X-Files airhorn theme song here"

I thought his quiet crying was fine, I really enjoyed all of bink's brew, it was just feeling underwhelmed by comparison I guess for his crying in 381. On a plus note I feel the tension setup to Impel down more than when I skimmed through in Japanese. (I had missed the newspaper scene before)

Like I said, the content of those episodes wasn't the problem for me; it was just some of the voice acting…

Well that's just Funimation having fun with those characters. After all, your not going to see them again unless there's fan art of filler characters (Like Apis) :(
Damn you, fan-artists!
Maybe I'll pay someone to draw Apis in the One Piece style.

tears of joy Thank you so much for linking me to this! I've been searching since last night for a English clip but wasn't having one turn up. Guess I just needed to try again!

No, that was originally in English text in the Japanese version as well. OP's just always been one of those series with a lot of English text used throughout, but FUNi's never changed any of the text to English until just now on the DVDs. Only time they got into that was when the original Toonami 2007 dub was on.

Crocus' new voice actor is Burl W. Proctor.
-
We should find out this week about a July release.
-
Yeah i didn't even bother rationing these episodes, a July release would be much appreciated
-
-
-
what happen his old voice actor
Jerry Russell passed away a while back.
The new voice is very good. It's natural sounding, and follows a similar tone to the original voice.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
The first episode on the next set (season 7) will be entitled:
Halfway Across the Grand Line
Arrival at the Red Line! -
Doesn't matter to me, but rightstuf if late shipping out the latest collection. They're just shipping it today and it's due out tomorrow, meaning most people won't even get it until after release. Rightstuf is slowing down lately.
And I'll keep my fingers crossed for a July release, though I feel like we would've heard about it before hand. I'm going to be frustrated if it's not there, but will also expect it not to be.
-
Yeah its crazy how Funimation had all One Piece fans so hyped in the beginning of March and then couple of weeks later that got deflated very fast.
-
Finally found a site that's uploaded the English dub of the latest Funi release. Ian did a wonderful job as Brook as usual. It's so strange hearing his voice coming from Living Brook, though. I've never had any problems with his voice as skeleton Brook, but hearing such a young sounding voice coming out of a guy that looks like Living Brook just kind of sounds weird. I wonder why they had him call the Sunny Mr. Lion instead of Mrs./Ms. Lion? Ships are usually refered to as female so hearing "Mr. Lion" struck me as really odd.
I'm so iffy on some of the secondary characters, though. Lola and the Risky Brothers sound great in their zombie forms, but for whatever reason it sounds like they're being really lazy for the human versions. They don't generally sound as emotive and such. I'm not really sure what it is. Didn't really have a problem with the voices from the Spa Island mini-arc, except for whats-his-face that runs the spa. He sounded odd, especially when he laughed. His unique laugh didn't sound quite so natural as most characters with unique laughs.

Yup, I'm with you on secondary voices, they sound totally different to their zombie counterpart.
I find that their zombie counterpart had a more high pitch voice, which worked great. -
The zombie voices thing was inconsistent. Crew's zombies sounded like drunk versions of themselves, yet the other pirates on the island's zombies sounded exactly the same (Lola, for example. No drunk versions.)

….......I'm kind of scratching my head at this one... So you think skeleton Brook, who is an 88-year old man, sounds fine with a "young sounding voice", but a 38-year old version of said character having a youthful voice is...weird?
Though I somewhat agree with your comments on Lola and the Risky Brothers. There seemed to be a number of moments where their human versions sounded a bit too…unenthusiastic.

I seem to recall it being pretty much the same in the original version; Strawhat zombies sounded different, but Lola’s zombie was basically the same. Though the Risky Brothers’ zombies definitely did not have the same voices as the actual Risky Brothers.
It seemed like they weren't going for one type of performance in particular for the zombies and more like they were altering the voice based off the type of characters the zombies turned out to be. Oars was dumber and more monster-like, Jigoro and Doguin were the more silly drunken type voices (which fit since they pretty much weren’t used in any sort of serious context unlike Oars or Ryuma), Ryuma was more sinister sounding, and the Risky zombies were squeakier and more high pitched. If there was any difference between Lola zombie and regular Lola’s voices it was that zombie Lola sounded more…obsessive, which fits since zombie Lola was a lot more aggressive with trying to get married.
-
Hmm. I like the explanation that the voice is just the two characters combined. So I guess sanji and zoro just got the short ends of the stick and were shoved into a drunk dog and a drunk old man respectively.

And be nice-- I can see what Emi means regards Brook sounding young. When you see brook the skeleton, you don't think 80+ year old man. His voice sounds so smooth that it feels young, so I can understand it being weird coming out of an old man.
Will watch the episodes for the first time tomorrow and let you know what I think.

I’ll admit, 38-year old Brook looks a bit older than his age. However, it's an essential part of current Brook's character that he is over 50 years old, since he left Laboon behind 50 years ago. Knowing Brook's story he should be viewed as an energetic, youthful sounding old man.
Though perhaps I was a bit rude with my earlier comment; it just struck me as a strange complaint to make given the context.

With Brook, in his regularly seen form he may be an old man and a skeleton, but being a skeleton kind of keeps him looking young. A skull doesn't have age lines or anything else. Whereas just before he died, Brook looked older than 38. Just looking at his design would make me think something more like in his 50's. I don't know. It may not make much sense, but to me skeleton Brook just looks younger than living Brook does, so hearing a young voice coming from someone who looks older is strange.

Anyone know when the solicitations for july should be out?
-
I'm not sure if we ever know a day. I was thinking it would be out earlier this week. So if not today, it won't be this weekend.
I'm moving to Texas, so I just realized that I'll be closer to Rightstuf. Which means slightly less waiting for the sets. :)
