Wow great chapter.

First whoa on Nico Robin, Nice fanservice. Combined with Nami's nice bath I can't wait for the anime to catch up.

Second I am loving that they mentioned Wano again. I can't wait to see more of the Samurai. Ryuuma was very impressive especially considering that he was in a dead body and with the shadow of a mediocre fighter(I love Brook as much as anyone but by New World standards he is a bit mediocre) in the driving seat. I wouldn't be surprised if thir elite is up there at the level of vice admirals.

Third I am loving the dragon. It was about time that we saw one with all the other incredible creatures in OP world

Fourth I am wondering if the distress call came from someone of Urouge's crew. The Island looks kinda like the lightning island where they were

The island that looks like that urouges crew were at was the island that Smoker was at, not punk hazard.

Wano country wasn't show to us, ace just said he learned to make hats there but we saw oars wearing it in random localitations.

Not saying the samurai aren't strong, but remember that Ryuma was famous even among the samurai for being unusually strong and skilled enough to kill a dragon. If we assume all the samurai are close to Ryuma's level, then they certainly wouldn't present a threat to a Marine base if it was guarded by Pacifistas

The pacifistas did not exist four years ago. You guys keep forgetting FOUR years ago. The marines if that is indeed their base have not been there for FOUR years.

I can say that Oda chose 4 of of the strawhats only because of these reasons:
Luffy: Luffy is the baka captain and the hero of the story.
Zoro: Zoro with Luffy are going to meet a person/s who's/'re stronger than them. Also, the samurai story is not far away from being true.
Usopp: Well, you need a coward to show the readers how scary thing can become in One Piece world.
Robin: She is going to start talking about history and stories from the past next chapter.

What I'm curious about is, how often he is going to do this. Its a great way to get each character a lot of spotlight. I mean have this arc only have these four, then a couple arcs down the road have Luffy and a few more, and so on.

It can be tough to fit in all 9-10 or whatever crew members into an arc and give each appropriate time, but if he has some stay at the boat it sets it up perfect to deal with only a few.

They're animals,so you assume they necessarily can't talk?LOL…did you forget that human beings are animals too? Scientifically speaking, we belong to the 'Kingdom Animalia' just like all the rest. The difference is that we're rational and vastly intelligent compared to the others...just like dragons are also supposed to be. In fact, in many stories, it's said that the dragon's intelligence surpasses humans' by A LARGE margin and that they can easily understand what anyone says to them and even reply if necessary.

Actually, I reread the chapter and we do not see Wano at all. (Thanks for pointing it out! My memory is faulty… -.-)
I still don't think it's this island however. I just don't think the buildings seen match Wano, which seeme to have a mediaval Japan theme going on with the straw hats and the samurai.

Except of course, if the marines build those buildings. But Ace can't have been there too long ago and for the marines to take over the island, build stuff and then fuck it all up in such a short time? (Since it's been four years ago...) Huh...

I love how Luffy is just talking with the den den Mushi and somehow understands what it's saying. I also love how Smoker knows how Luffy thinks "Luffy? Oh he's coming here no doubt!".

Why are people wondering about the fire? Seriously, there is a Dragon in the house and you're still wondering?

The strange thing about this Island is the fact that there aren't supposed to be anyone, and not only there is a Dragon, but also a Samurai and what seems to be a whole crew. And then there is the sign on the front door, I'm guessing it's to warn people about Giants in the "deserted" island. Not to mention the fact that the log can't find its field. The only one who is supposed to be able to reach it is someone who already knew where to look for it. If the reason why you can't find its field is what I'm thinking then… dayum.

I don't want this to be a devil fruit. I hope it is a REAL dragon. We have already had Ryuumai be told he killed a Dragon, so unless it was a lie we know they exist. Will we see all mythical beasts? who knows. BUT we have already seen a t-rex and a t-rex zoan. Wasn't t-rex considered a mythical zoan?

yea in basically all stories dragons can talk. It more rare that they can't talk. Not sure why everyone thinks it needs to be a devil fruit. Hell start complaining about the other animals who can talk like Bepo or the guy from Big Mams crew before you start spewting this dragon is a zoan

Dragons. I'm really not sure if I like this. I hope it is somehow devil fruit related, because meeting a dragon on the first NW island seems so random and cliche to me. Dragons are cool and all, but I guess I would need to get used to them in OP.

Smoker. Needless to say, he is the most badass looking character in the series (for now). I was always a fan of the Marine coats, and it suits him really well. Someone already pointed out the similarities with Garp, and I can't wait to see him confronting the SH's.

Samurai's. Sounds interesting, I'm surprised Zoro didn't really comment on it.

All in all great buildup chapter.

Great Chapter! The Adventures of the Mugiwara are back! Splitting up to explore islands, showing they all still have their personalities, Marines chasing after them, learning a lot in one chapter, the next year of One Piece is going to be great!

I'm still only reading the chapter titles. Punk Harzard-The Strawhats meet vegapunk. I've read a few comments in this thread but the spoiler is obvious they have left fishman island. The only thing I care to know is if the Strawhats ever got a new crewmember. I'll need to finish up the fishman island chapters. Like SOON.

t-rex was an ancient zoan, its different… and also you argue that they must be real because people in one piece know what dragons are....yet you...in the real world know what a dragon is even tho its not a real thing

Well, for one, it's not a "Dial" like in Skypiea and doesn't stay for ever like that one, so it's kind of a tool inspired by the Dial but not the same (She called it a "Milky Rod"). Other than that I'll say we need to wait for a proper explanation from Nami, if any.

First, the SHs actually point out that this is not necessarily Wano Country, but rather an island that has samurai on it. It seems pretty likely that we're not going to be in Wano Country any time soon.

Second, any thoughts on why the island has no magnetic field? That seems to be a pretty big issue that's not being discussed here. Is it artificial?

yeah, but it is a mythic creatur and it does exist. If Oda has already introduced one he can introduce another. He couldn't inroduce a kraken devil fruit but that doesn't mean he has to introduce every non-aquatic mythic creature through devil fruits.

Awesome chapter. I feel that this arc is going to be awesome. I liked how oda is making nami and robin look so hot, I also liked Smoker's new look he looks more badass and I'm guessing the dragon is a devil fruit user and that if he is an oponent he will either fight zoro or luffy

I feel like this is going to be a short arc, but I love it already. This is the illogical sea we've been waiting for from the beginning! I love how the first half is something illogical by human standards, and the New World is something illogical by those standards. Also, talking dragons, fuck yes.

Should really not throw the word IMPORTANT around so easily.

As of right now she has been on two cover pages and is nothing more than a secretary to a character who might play no more of a role in the rest of the story. We might see her again at the end of the manga and that be it.

Would hardly call her important. What has she done so far that has been of any relevance to the story? What is her name? Tell me about her. How has she changed Water 7? What is she is a genius in? ect. She is hardly important.

Not saying she couldn't be later, but as of right now she is a two page cover girl. She is as important as that female octopus fishman that Hatchi was chasing. See how important she was in the Fishman Island Arc. So don't throw the important title around till it has some weight behind it.

A hell of a chapter! Punk Hazard, hell yeah! And that Dragon talks as well…did the one in the one-shot talk? Dunno anymore, but that one-shot was supposed in the OP world as well, IIRC. Would be interesting if normally dragons couldn´t talk, that would mean this one´s a human who´s eaten a DF :P (not really probable though)

I'm almost certain that Punk Hazard has to do with VegaPUNK, I mean with the marine alleigance and the sort of technological look of the front gate, it almost seems pretty obvious.

If I had to hazard (doooohohoho!) a guess, I'd have to say that this place is the closest thing you could relate to a nuclear disaster with the real world and One Piece. Melting nuclear fallout and shit, no idea how the dragon relates to it but it's possible there's some connection. Scientific disaster site with still-persistant effects. I'm thinking about how Chernobyl made surrounding towns like Prypiat a ghost town. Once again though, all just wishful thinking.

Oh! Something also of note to the Vegapunk theory; a bit of the stretch but not too much. Vegapunk used to live in a constant snow 'n ice environment, it's …. sort of possible that he has something to do with that cold spot, maybe? The guy might be there but prefer his element, ya know.

I liked the chapter this week, Nami's cload road ability should definitely come in handy and I'm happy with the group that went, I like the monster trio but also like seeing the rest of the crew and definitely Robin :). Not sure what to think of the Dragon for the moment, I hope it's a Mythical Zoan DF user but there's still alot of mystery surrounding this new island and not enough information to theorize soundly.

I always loved dragons and while a Df would be interesting, in the end, it is the real thing that's the best.
