There is a huge warning page before you start reading the one shot…it may contain some spoilers. DID YOU SKIP THAT?

how do i suppose to know that it would given in one line in author's comment…?..i went straight to the manga.....your comment was misleading...i took it for granted that like Riboku,i am going to read only the past of Moubu...
The link has a spoiler page before you read it…it has also spoiler warning in the manga one shot itself as well...I have no idea how you missed all those warnings. :S
For those that don't know, there won't be any chapters out this Sunday/Monday, on their website http://turnipfarmers.wordpress.com/ it says that the next batch will come on Thursday.

That explains it then, I was hoping for some to read and there weren't any.
BTW, someone on batoto pointed out that

That isn't a theory, is a fact! In the page, just before, to the first you showed, the other soldiers call him Li Xin(Shin) so is obviously him.

How can that Batoto's dude skip the prev page and made a theory ….
I want to pick this one up. Are the scanlations up to date on Batoto?
Up to date as in, the latest chapter released in Japan? Then no. The English scans are 100 or so chapters back.
Ah, that's the cue to stay away from all the spoiler tags in this thread, then. Good thing I asked.
But I love it from the ~20 chapters I've read so far.
It gets much much better than the initial 20 chapters
^I agree, the first arc didn't really appeal to me. It was only after they started the war-mongering that the series became epic.
Same here. Read the first 10 chapters when they first translated them and I dropped it. Went back reading it after almost an year and now I love it.
So to sum up, if you enjoyed the first 20 chapters you are in for a ride.
I'm officially caught up now and it's been totally an awesome ride. I love the intense fighting, larger than life combat, great characters and all the strategy, intrigue and tactics.
It was weird though that the names changed between some chapters totally. But from what I read from Aohige's explanation, it was some kind of transliteration thing? It's also a horrible feeling to wait for new scanlated chapters knowing there's a 100+ gap to cover.
I'll tag this in case someone else picks this up, but
! I was totally weeping manly tears for General Ouki.
The 100+ chapter gap isn't that bad. Turnip farmers do chapters really quick. They release 3-4 chapters every Thursday and Sunday. So it's not like your only getting 1 chapter a week.

I feel that its more horrible when they actually catch up because most of the time the author doesn't leave a good cliffhanger or a good indication that the chapter is over and in no time, I have already waltzed through three chapters or so, thinking that I'm still on the first chapter of the released bunch. Just my opinion though.
Impressions on the latest few released chapters:
Scanlated:
! Kyoukai noooo!!!
Raw:
! Kyoukai noooo!!!
LOL yeah
! IMO, Siyuu are more impressive than that-moron-claiming-to-be-war-god.
Individually, he may be a bit stronger than a Shiyuu, but these motherfuckers can obviously mass-produce them every… what, decade or so?
No idea how many active Shiyuus are out there, but the fact they have a system in place to produce these monsters make it a hell of a lot more impressive than Mr LOL I CUT FORESTS ON MY DAY OFF.

! Yep, mass produce, but then there can be only one…!
! Attirewise they beat Mr. Lumberjack all day any day, but that's okay. He sleeps all night and he works all day. Except whenever he shows up he always ends up with another facial scar and can't wrap his head around how killing tigers in the forest isn't gonna help him in the long run
I've caught up to the latest scanlations. I can't wait for more. I Kinda feel left behind since I don't read Japanese and can't fully participate in discussion.
how does the author manage to draw on a weekly basis a manga of such quality?

Too bad the anime is CGI bullshit
@keizerking:
I just checked out the first episode and the motion of the characters is incredibly weird. It looks the same as 3d synthesis images of the early 2000s.
Imagine giving it the attack on titans treatment ;_; those wars

Shingeki no kyojin is the cutting edge very few animes are adapted with such a high standard.Even an average animation would be enough to make kingdom a success seeing how terrific the story is .However from what i've seen so far kingdom seems to be the bottom of the pit in terms of Japanese animation,if people start with the anime, that cheap video game style of animation would be a huge turnoff for them.

The author of Vagabond as a better art than Kingdom and he draws weekly too!
Oda says that it takes him, and his assistants, 2 to 3 days, where they go crazy, to draw one chapter of One Piece(the other days of the week he spends managing/thinking the story, making the name and discussion it with the manager).

Slam Dunk and Vagabond <3 for me he is the best mangaka

It's not really fair to compare Hara to Inoue. Or pretty much anyone else in the industry lol.
But Inoue doesn't draw weekly. Vagabond is on a monthly release schedule - despite running in Weekly Morning - and Real has a trade volume worth of chapters released per year. Altogether that makes him have two monthly ongoing serializations.

It seems that most mangakas can't manage that kind of pacing though. When you compare kingdom's release rate to most series in close quality range, most are monthly and in some rare cases(like inoue)semi-monthly.
Boichi also does some amazing weekly art. too bad Sun Ken Rock has so many problems, I'd like to enjoy it much more than I do.
Just finished the first Zhao war arc. That was amazing, that entire arc gave me a lot of Whitebeard war vibes but with a somehow even better character which is definitely a good thing.

I thought that Vagabond had a weekly release schedule while Real was irregular, but around monthly. I believe I read an interview with Inoue about doing it weekly and that it wasn't really that hard and different from other series he did. Probably that interview is outdated, or a read it wrong.

I believe almost all of the titles of Weekly Young Jump has equivalent(or at least close) art quality of that of Kingdom and all of them are weekly(22 titles, Not all of them are 17 pages per chapter, like Saipuuu, but I believe most of them are. You have Rozen Maiden, Destroy and Revolution, Terraformars, Tokyo Ghoul and others and they are all weekly. Zetman and Real have better quality than Kingdom, but right now aren't weekly, but at a certain point in time they were) and There are a lot of other magazines(at least 10 more) that are weekly and have titles of similar, if not better, quality(in terms of art). So I believe most of mangakas in reality manage that kind of pacing!
The Majority of backgrounds are made by assistants so it doesn't take that much time. By what Oda said in one SBS, he(and his assistants) take 2 to 3 days to draw a chapter. I would say that it would take the same amount of time, maybe 1 more day, for Kingdom author(and his assistants) to make a chapter.

Like Ecchi close to Hentai? Or Hentai close to Ecchi? I don't even know! XD

Yeahhh. Boichi has some pretty amazing badass closeups and oneshots of people. It almost makes Sun Ken Rock worthwhile.

like, whenever it's mafia scheming or manly fights, I love it.
but when any female characters are involved, things get cringy quick.
Guys, the anime is genuinely well done in terms of storytelling, voice acting, and animation most of the time. The first few episodes just over-use CG a bit for some reason. It's mostly used only when there are a large number of characters on the screen at once. I really enjoy the anime and that's why I work on it. It really kinda annoys me how people write it off as "It sucks it uses CG". Especially so in the second season where the animation is better.
Also, Innocent is a good manga that has a lot of detail on a weekly basis. So was Kokou no Hito.
with all due respect, that animation just hurts my eyes. All the first season, especially early on. Then it is better on the beginning of second season but the further we go the lower quality we get. That to say everything else in this anime is good, so I'm following it despite the animation.
Second season anime not bad, thanks for the translations kewl
Cutting off entire arcs is a problem in the first season of the anime as well.
And the animation sucks ass / lacks impact on closed ranged fights between two generals too. It's just a whole lot shittier than the manga, period.
What arc is the second season of the anime at now?
Also, Innocent is a good manga that has a lot of detail on a weekly basis. So was Kokou no Hito.
Are you talking about Innocent by SAKAMOTO Shinichi?
^thanks. odd coincidence that the anime is on pace with the translated chapters
manga scans are good few chapter ahead

Ehh I wouldn't say same pace. The scanlations have been flying through them after playing catchup with the anime.
