@Monkey:
Isn't the Buddhist Manji usually like…resting on a flat side, while the Nazi one is in a sort of diamond shape? That's handy, they've always come off slightly different for that reason.
Fascists really love weird old looking symbols though.

I guess these must have been really cool and modern looking in the 30's…..or 2013 Greece.
The Buddhist swastika can be either way, although I think you would see more variation with the Hindu one.
And ugh, Golden Dawn. >.>
@Monkey:
The heritage it symbolizes is strictly Southern US lol, "trucks and country"?? If you want to cure those idiots of their mistaken idea that the flag means anything to them, just send them down to the South and have them laughed at to death. The only thing a Southerner would find more hilarious (or angering in some cases) than a Northern US person flying a "rebel" flag would be a Canadian.
I think they want it to come off as a "rural pride" thing but in that case, why not choose one of the other flags of the Confederacy, one that's not loaded with so much meaning? The rectangular Dixie is a naval flag with a darker blue for the cross.
I went to high school in Texas. People that had the Confederate flag and the stars and bars on their trucks weren't trying to piss off minorities, but you know, they were all pretty much white and "what's the big idea, slavery ended a century ago" without recognizing a century (longer, actually) is nothing in the history of things and that's there's still a lot of racial bias in America today. I don't think they meant anything by it, but ignorance as an excuse only goes so far.
Oh, everyone, go and read that link if you think racism is dead. Please.
@Monkey:
Yep, as I've always said that's why the US and Canada are pretty much the best in the world about this sort of thing. Because we talk about it more than most do.
No offense Europe, but your super polite "oh we have no problems wait why are the algerians burning cars" thing is way more unappealing than seeing Al Sharpton on TV a bunch.
Ahaha, pretty much this.
@The:
Why do we need a Black History Month? An entire month dedicated to Black History, and the oppression of the Black peoples?
Why not just learn about Black history throughout the entire year, like you do with every single other race? I find it…silly.
You see, if we lived in a perfect world, we could do away with history months. But, since we don't (see above link, to start with), if we got rid of Black History month (or Asian-American, or Hispanic, or Women's…), we wouldn't learn about the contributions of these groups of people at all.
