@crease:
DragonXPiece never learns. @phoenix wright, better to be anonymous with things like this. Well done.
I just checked this thread after a few days off and have found hilarious but awesome stuff from Phoenix Wright revealing Aokiji-sama identity. XD
Now waiting for the defendant to post his defense, will he? wishful thinking
And I have to agree with crease regarding anonymity. Anyway back to topic.
@maggie:
Hmm, when I look at my collection, some of the most boring figures are One Piece. Kind of surprising, because OP has so much action. Can't say I really realized it until just this moment. Of course I'm comparing Megahouse to Alter, Medicos, Good Smile, Yamato and Griffon, some of whom take private sculpts/kits and make them into a mainstream release. So, some serious sculpting power with not as many restrictions as Megahouse might have. I think most of the action for OP figures is reserved for the trading figures. Not sure how to feel about that. But, even a subtle pose change can really bring out the character and emotion. In all I don't think Megahouse's stye is that detail-oriented, and less emotionally/character driven.
That being said, I do think Banpresto was on the right track when they released Brotherhood, and whoever is releasing that old shanks putting the hat on young luffy scene has the right idea. Scene recreation, with nice detail, may win out and bring the next step in OP figures (imho). I feel it pulls more at our closeness to the series events and our heartstrings.
edit: I made a new sticky poll for a new thread, I would appreciate it if people took a moment to consider the choices and voice their opinions. Thanks!
Couldn't agree more, maggie.
Brotherhood blew the boring standard poses out of water and it would be a surprise if they (KENGO) don't follow up with another one this year.
And Scultures line rocks. I'm still salivating over the prospect of having these dynamic figures: Jango, Wiper, Zoro, Dalton, Drake.
As you said OP have so much actions that I think deserve to be immortalized into big scaled figure besides those small Super Effect or Attack Motion ones. Figuarts Zero trying to recreate those dynamic scene with Mihawk and Zoro, but I have very little faith in them (Bandai Tamashii Nation)… :p
Now with those dynamic poses, POP Usopp, Brook and Robin SA could be the best POP to date. Hopefully the painted version would meet our expectation. As much as I hope GSC or Alter to take on One Piece series, it would never happen with Megahouse strong sales. And by having Banpresto who are better in each of their releases of the GLM series and hopefully Scultures (they did amazing job in DB Scultures), I'm confident with the future of One Piece Figure, and so of this forum too. :)
