@Lazy:
So, um, why do you think Kuzan allied himself with Teach?
This is a good question. I'm guessing he recognizes Blackbeard as a 'rising star', and is trying to use that power to undermine Akainu's marines, but I'd expect he has more of a plan than that. We're lacking too much information to really come up with any informed speculation, though.
@CCC:
Everything points to Ricky being Kyros, but it's not "confirmed."
I really think this is a red herring, and that Kyros is the Soldier of Lightning. It would explain why no one remembers him, explains the mysterious "one wound", and suggests a connection with the other gladiators. Ricky is obviously also connected, based on his flashback involving Rebecca, but he's also apparently old - old enough that he's commenting on age catching up to him. On this basis, I'm guessing Rebecca is Kyros' daughter, and Ricky is the grandfather or great uncle (or longtime family protector or something - someone from the generation before Kyros, anyhow).
Regarding Crocodile, I don't care that much if he turns out to have been originally a woman, but I really don't want that to be the "secret" Ivankov was talking about. If anything, I want it to come out as a joke (someone thinks that's the secret, and he (or Ivankov, whichever) is just like "What kind of idiot are you? How is that a weakness?". I don't feel like "born a woman" really fits his character, but I'm sure Oda could make it work if that's what he has in mind, and ultimately, it's all about execution.
And for my thoughts on this chapter: Bartolomeo just went from an entertaining troll who I suspected was positively inclined towards Luffy, to one of my absolute favorite characters in the series. I've really been enjoying Dressrosa so far, and this has been one of my favorite chapters to date. Between Chinjao and Barto, I really feel like Oda has really been on his characterization stride this arc.
