Unless you can find evidence of this in the manga, it's irrelevant. The anime adds a lot of scenes for the sake of humour.

I'm not so stupid… I wouldn't post it if it wasn't in the manga.

EDIT: Too Late
Rebecca looks like Nami.
I'd say it could be either 1on1 or 4on4, though i'm leaning more towards the latter. Feels like 1on1 would drag it out too much with all else happening in the story, if Oda wants to complete it without interruption. Of course, from DD's perspective that would be the purpose - keeping Luffy occupied as long as possible.
In 4on4 the last man standing gets to meet Diamante, unless it's a Doflamingo member, they aren't really competing for the fruit are they? Just defending it?
1on1 seems to complicated, first 4 matches of 1 DD member vs 1 block winner, then what? I don't see DD family fighting each other, so if only one block winner win his match, should s/he fight 3 more games, then Diamante? In either case, it would be 7 games before Diamante, assuming it will be 1on1 all the way.
Also, in a 4on4, or rather 4on1on1on1on1, I can see some interesting scenarios.
There has been arguments about Burges shouldn't lose and some has said he might steal the fruit.
I could see him winning, then all hell breaks lose and in the commotion Luffy would be the one stealing the fruit, just to make sure Burges won't get it ;)
Also, I have to say I didn't like fanbart at first, probably cause I was getting a bad cold and my mood affected the reading. Or it could be that I kinda hate that sort of idolism and I liked his character as it was. Now I can actually see the fun though, mainly the ultimate irony in Oda making him a troll character but in the end trolling us with him. The contrast with Cavendish was nice too. Looking forward to him approaching Luffy, I can see Luffy laughing it of but find it cool too. Or perhaps he won't see it at all like with Hancock.
IMHO the Doflamingos and the block winner will be in an 8 men battle royal.
For a villain like Dofla it makes more sense to send a team of 4 people knowing each other and that probably already fought together, able to take advantage of each other's power, against 4 people that don't have chemistry and have maybe personal issues, than sending his men against the block winners 1 on 1.
This is not a regular tournament, it's a tournament organized by a crook ;)
It would also be more spectacular and quicker for storytelling.

Great find!
Gotta love your Usopp :)

This post haha. I think the people who have posted the screencap rather than the relevant page have done so in trust that people will remember it in the manga/will trust that it is in the manga.
Such an amusing post :p
Incientally, we've seen a lot of Usopp's lies come true so far. Cerberus was on TB, the dragon was on PH. The goldfish whose poop was big enough to be an island was made true by the Giant Goldfish near Little Garden whose poop was Nothing Island. And the Giant Goldfish keeping a country (of dwarfs?) fed for months came true in the Tontatta kingdom being fed for months on the Fighting Fish, which they said was a relative of the Giant Goldfish. Now the beuatiful lady swordsman with some meat. Looks like the 8,000 follower thing will come true too in this arc (although it would mean the Dressrosa rising would be much WAAAYYYY smaller than the rebellion in Alabasta). What's left after that? I remember something about beating ten giants . . .

- DD family cooperating could be really cool, they know each other well like Baby 5 and Buffalo.
- Luffys relations with the other block winners, depending on who wins block D. It would be really fun watching Cavendish go after Luffy who's going after Burges, while Bartolomeo doing anything to defend Luffy - or is just being star struck.
- Luffys statement about Ace's power going to anybody except BB crew and him going all out on Burges to make sure that'll be the case. I actually see this as he won't win but neither will Burges. In the end he might get the fruit anyway, if Bart should win the tournament. Or Rebecca gets the fruit considering her dream to get DD herself.
There has been arguments about Burges shouldn't lose and some has said he might steal the fruit.

This chapter confirmed that the next round is the finals. If it was semi's then it would probably be individual matches but it looks like its gonna be a good old battle royal with 6 people coming after luffy at once.

The word used was indeed "finals"… but... it's kind of ambiguous. I'd actually like Aohige or Stephen's opinion on it before we draw any conclusions.
Besides which, we know that Diamante has to fight someone, making that the official final match, which means that whatever comes next can't possibly be the final fight.
Yes but since it still is the finals it should be an 8 man battle royal because if it were individuals the next round then it wouldn't even be considered a quarter final.
So I'm reading the volume that just came out, and I hit the part in Punk Hazard when Kinemon says there is no fire he cant cut through. Afaik this has yet to matter really, other than against slimey. Maybe the Mera fruit will be eaten by an enemy and Kinemon will have his battle there?? Just a thought…
^Volume 68 is already out outside of Japan?
Must find it.
Rebecca getting the fruit seems unlikely to me since it would be easy for the Blackbeard pirates to kill her.

Kill…in One Piece...That's a little extreme.
But I agree, the secret third sister isn't getting the fruit.

The character in the manga don't know the rule. Blackbeard have killing DF-users for the past 2 years. No reason to leave such a wonderful fruit in the hand of such an easy prey.

Are you some sort of insane person?

I don't know. I just meant to say that since they have no reason to assume they will fail at killing someone there's no reason to use that fact to know how one of the character will act.

You're responding to someone asserting that death is an extreme rarity because of the author's having severe hangups about killing his characters outside of flashbacks. And is thus not likely to happened at all.
Right?

So that was the point. I just meant that since Blackbeard would most likely go after the fruit if gave to Rebecca and since ppeople don't die easily in one piece the most logical deeduction was that Rebecca wouldn't get it. Basically people don't die in one piece so the fruit won't go to Rebecca.
Ok I know I'm late enough and the party is over and I know that in general it was a nice, funny and more other things thread but I want to mention what really applies with the Greek dub version.
First off all I want to mention that there is generally a altered to titles and translations of movies, series, etc. But that happens most for reasons as CCC recently responded to a question of my for a better understanding. Not that they are not dumb translations. I really hate them.
Secondly
The name changes to Greek dub version are made for copyright reasons (less money) as also the cancellation of the series (money issues) and not b/c of "extreme violence"
The tv channel that he transmits back on those days had financial problems and is currently closed due to them, and his owner in jail
All the rest is urban legends
Do we know in how much time the dwarves will be in the factory?
for all I care luffy could give the fruit to law and his crew if none of the strawhats wants it or even a one legged human version of the toy soldier NN w/e, OVER REBECCA.
Sneaking into an underground factory also doesn't mean the tournament will be interrupted.
That attack could be going on underneath the arena without the people above having a clue.
Exactly what I'm hoping for(and expect).
Even I have to admit though that even that scenario seems to be inevitably heading toward them bursting up into the arena at SOME point.
I don't think Burgess is going down, so I don't think Oda will actually pit him and Luffy against eachother directly yet.
I really do imagine him getting away untouched, the question though is will he have the fruit with him or not.
It'd be pretty pointless having the coliseum be on top of the factory if the two plots didn't converge at some point
Maybe he'll leave the fruit behind because he got a meeting with Aokiji at the moment and things got to messy. For theBB crew it should be no problem since they would just have to track down the strawhats to get the fruit back. Or maybe just wait for him to come to them.

But it could wait by the time the four from the DD family have show some of their worth. It could a certain a certain time before those in the factory break the top or before things get out of control down there.
I think something like the fights go on until Burgess has to fight Luffy, the the fight in the factory collapses the coliseum or something. The fruit will probably get taken by whoever gets to Diamante first or something.
@Monkey:
Hm, I don't know about you, but sometimes I think Oda is trying for…humor?
I don't mind Barto admiring Luffy, it is somewhat funny to see but a guy that is hyped up to be a cold blooded killer type (I got that impression from his "cannibal" moniker and his thrashing of the vice admiral) having thoughts like "I hope Luffy-senpai notices me today" is too strange. But I guess I'll deal with it for now and let Oda do the rest.

I agree with all of this being likely except Diamante is clearly being set up as a big fight in his own right. So it only seems likely to me that Luffy would fight him, or another Strawhat.
Burgess or Rebecca or someone fighting him doesn't fit the way Oda's been slowly showing more and more of him like he's some cool reveal of his own.
Actually, that very characterization of Diamante (paired with how long the tournament is going) is part of what makes me wonder if Dofla himself will be dealt with somewhat later on another island. Like Oda's setting up a different big arc fight.
Unless it's just that Zoro or Sanji gets him.

I agree with everything you said, but Doflamingo getting defeated in another island doesn't sound good at all, Dressrosa is Dofla arc, his home, his island, so if he doesn't get defeated here I don't think it make any sense at all.. So far every boss/villain has been defeated in their arc/home, Oda won't be changing that now.
Unless you trying to say Doflamingo will be a coward and runaway from his own home? to flee from Luffy? And no the Strawhats won't leave Dressrosa till they have their end of arc party..

As of ten years ago. It's not like he was born here or something, or became a pirate here, or even gathered his crew here.
If I'm recalling right he became king at the same time he became Shichibukai.
So it's not really the equivalent of fighting Wapol on another island or anything like that.
And he'd definitely be suffering a huge defeat here. I'm not denying that.

Rob Lucci says hi.
Unless you trying to say Doflamingo will be a coward and runaway from his own home? to flee from Luffy? And no the Strawhats won't leave Dressrosa till they have their end of arc party..
I'm actually more expecting that he'd be fleeing from something Kaidou related.
And running Dofla and his regime out would be plenty of grounds for a party.
Oda won't take Dofla out with a single battle.
This is the liberation of Dressrosa.
I don't think we'll see Dofla beaten down before 300-400 chapters LOL
If Dofla wants to run away from Kaido there's BB that will surely welcome him, those 2 guys thinks pretty much alike.
I dont see dofla running away on dressrosa. He has CP0, his whole crew, a marine admiral & marines and also the help of the world nobles. Why would he leave that? I think he will be taken down this arc. probably not killed, though. So far luffy has the Strawhats&law, the samurai, the tonttata kingdom, barto(?), and the happou navy. Rebecca/Ricky will probably end up an ally also, +the prisoners. So its pretty close to an even match, with probably a bit more power on dolfa's side..
by the way, how many months of real time was punk hazard?
Doflamingo might not get taken out in this arc. He might get the hell out when things go down later.
What about Trevor of Clubs and that other dude from the Spades. Seems like Zoro & Sanji type matchups with Luffy going after Diamante.

He does not have CP0 or Fujitora, they may be aligned but those are seperate factions. Especially CP0 who I highly doubt are going to be dealt with this arc.

I think Burgess will get away with the Mera Mera no Mi, if only for Luffy going to chase him and Blackbeard and make a further complication for Law's plan and also for Blackbeard to slowly become Luffy's #1 hated arch-nemesis.
@Monkey:

So you don't subscribe to the theory that the CP0 leader is that mysterious man Doflamingo was talking to before the time skip.
CP0 work under the World Nobles, they aren't going down in an arc that isn't directly dealing with the World Nobles. Fujitora isn't really on Doflamingo's side. He indirectly attacked him as well when he did the whole Meteor attack on Law. Then the marines are kinda pissed off already since Doflamingo faked quitting the Schibukai. When the truth about all that's going on in Dressrosa comes out, Fujitora will start half assing things and will let the SH did what they got to do kinda like Smoker at Alabasta.
As for Burguess and Luffy, they'll either eliminate each other or their fight will be interrupted. It's too early for one of Blackbeards crew to get down. I don't really see Doflamingo letting Luffy fight all the way to the finals and winning it without him doing something to Luffy before hand.
So you don't subscribe to the theory that the CP0 leader is that mysterious man Doflamingo was talking to before the time skip.
He did not seem like Dofla's subordinate.
He did not seem like Dofla's subordinate.
Maybe not a subordinate but allies in a mutual relationship. The world nobles may be using this CP0 man as a mediator with Doflamingo. Just a thought

Given Momonosuke's weird hallucination about him in punk hazard, and given the people from Wano are barely getting focus, I'd be willing to bet Doflamingo will be around at least until the Samurais finish their part in the story.
And I know I brought up the tournament getting interrupted before, but having the major conflict occur right under Luffy's position definitely simplifies how he'll be able to meet up with the others for the arc's climax. Plus, Rebecca is already starting to give Luffy the personal reason to care about destroying the factory when it comes to that.
@CCC:
229 pages of it. Enjoy!

wow. just epic thread. im laughing my ass off right now.
Luffy already gave Dofla warning about what he did to the children, Luffy specifically said: "If you do something like this again I will come and kick your ass" on den den mushi when he was talking to Dofla, ,, so I think after Rebecca and the gladiators story Luffy will be really pissed at Dofla and will go after him.. Then again, Dofla getting defeated this arc or next that I don't know but it makes more sense to be this arc than some samurai arc.

If he rans away he won't be around for the next arc.
Something I find interesting…
As Aohige pointed it out... Ace and Bartolomeo are most likely based on the same real life pirate named Bartolomeu Português...
And after seeing the reaction of Bartolomeo against people who mocked Luffy, it somehow felt similar to Ace's hot headness if someone talked shit about WB.
Maybe not the only similarity we will see, seeing as Bart seems to be labled as "most hated" person
Damn I wish we had more info on kaidou and his knowledge and thoughts on the situation. Dofla probably called him and smoothed things ober but yu would think to through even more chaos to this arc kaidou sends to dressrosa one of his strong goons.
