I tried to watch some recommended episodes and I had to shut them off midway because they hurt my ears.
Nothing is too girly to me. Like I said before, maturity need to combine both masculinity and femininity.
But this show simply fails to touch my soul.I don't deny it's a well-made show, but I wouldn't recommend my kids to watch it.
I watch very few animations but, I am not even going to compare it with Miyazaki's stuff.
Childishness has nothing to with it. This is even more childlike, in a certain sense, but it's more soulful.
Thank you for reminding me of Pooh's Grand Adventure. I loved that movie as a kid, and it's nice to see that other people did as well.
and I can totally see where you're coming from. MLP is fun times, but it's just sweet and sugar and fluff. Winnie the Pooh, and other things like it, are sweet and sometimes sugary, but not fluff. I remember watching the episode when Rabbit took in a baby bird, and when it grew up and had to leave, I cried. That's the kind of thing I want my children to watch.
but hell, if they want to watch ponies being silly, then they can do that too. :P

The Bridle Conversation episode is BRILLIANT loved Fluttershy with the manly voice. Also, I'm officially addicted to Pinky Pie now. Love the crazy :D

Very very pastel. Not quite as cracktastic as I'd hoped. Not exactly my thing. But cute.
They seem more so in 3 frame gif increments.

Pretty much word for word my experience. Not really my thing, but I admit the art style is very catchy and pleasing.

Oh don't worry about it Sea~! It'll kind of be like a part of my inner world~! =D It's not that bad~ You'll get used to it after a while. Don't worry if you start puking rainbows. It's quite normal.
Ok ay.
I finally decided Twilight was definitely my favorite character. It took about 14 episodes, but I really feel like I can say with confidence she and her style appeals to me the most. Fluttershy being right behind. It's hard being able to narrow the cast down and in some ways it feels wrong to divide them, but her goofy, socially awkward, knowledge-hound charm got to me.
So with that said, I'm finally one step closer to catching up. I've been doing one episode every now and then for a few days now and I should really fully catch up. At least before the season ends.

i just watched episode 16 sonic rainboom. I guess rarity was sort of a flutter pony. also, i think it's a greek legend they were taking from, where someone was given wings, but took them for granted and flew too close to the sun. (ya, i can't remember names)
