Whether you agree or not it's about how Oda has set the characters up. Jinbe is an OG and Hodi is a young punk. They will both get character development this arc and the young punk will grow up a bit, but that dynamic will not change.

Of course neither will the trend of fanboys like you jumping all over whatever amusing new side characters Oda introduces. I remember how much you loved Jinbe originally too.

LOL when did I say I "love" Jinbei? I just said all the time that he was the most likely next nakama and still is the most likely next nakama.

I said it plenty of times, that isn't because I like him THAT much but because of the hints.

So don't put words in my mouth. And btw… You know that "young punk" can be used for half of the SH crew

Yeah and Oda has set it up already after 5 chapters... Like Franky the villian in the past who was just a side boss character of a big evil gang

You were rocking Jinbe on your avatar and going on about what a good addition he would make to the crew etc. I don't want to bother looking through your old posts but I think you know what I'm talking about whether you want to admit it or not. Also we are not talking about any of the SH. We are comparing Jinbe and Hodi. Clearly the man Oda has characterized as the "Godfather" of FI is gonna be more badass than the young wannabe Arlong on steroids.

The idea that Jinbe is more friendly than Hodi is just an opinion too, but it's consistent with Oda's characterization of the idividuals. It could be my opinion that Hodi is more friendly than Jinbe. Of course it would not be consistent with Oda's intent. Right now you are high on Hodi Jones, but this arc will clearly portray Jinbe as more badass. Not to say Hodi won't get badass points too, but not as many.

I would have even put Vivi in back then^^ Jinbei is still a likeable character even if he is a bit dull FOR NOW in my eyes. This has nothing to do with the nakama topic cuz he still is the most likely.

By your fast conclusions Franky should be still an evil asshole who beats up weaklings for their money and Robin still sailing with Croc blowing cities up

White sharks aren't that great. They depend to much on one single food source (seals) and that's a recipe for extinction.
Bull sharks are far cooler - they actually swim up rivers and can live in freshwater and thus are far more dangerous. They're also much more aggressive even if they are smaller than whites.

Whale sharks are too wussy to go for anything other than plankton. Why Jinbe has such big teethers is a mystery to me, whale sharks don't have any.

This has nothing to do with who will join the crew. I was making a simple point about how Jinbe is charaterized vs Hodi. While I agree that Hodi will get development, it's not going to change the OG vs young punk dynamic. Hodi IS Arlong on steroids for now so there is nothing wrong with spelling it out. Clearly he will grow and eventually be given his own identity, but he's on path for Wiper-like development. Nothing is gonna happen to make him more badass than the Godfather of FI.

I have to disagree. i bet he can be pretty frightening , normally he isnt as kind as he was to luffy. He was just impressed by luffys recklessness of breaking into impel down to save ace and he was impressed by luffys attitude. i also remember jinbe saying to ace that normally he isnt such a nice guy , correct me if i'm wrong. anyway i'm pretty sure we will see how bad ass and frightening jinbe can be.

For the thing with hodi, i think he has a good potential to have a change of mind at the end of the arc, maybe through Luffys actions …who knows, at least i hope that this week cames out a new chapter, the cliffhanger with dekken was pretty tough for me xD

Vacation, sick, "he just couldn't manage all of the pages in time" (< this one is unlikely, considering Oda stays multiple chapters ahead), the reason that most authors post is "to gather data/material". Though I heard about a manga-ka that actually went to london to get the layout of the city correct, and had to take a break for that, lol.

Also, my bet on who is joining is "no one from this arc", so I think I have a higher chance of being correct than someone claiming a HnI character =.="
