Well, an island being "destroyed" is nothing new, every place Luffy passed through has been destroyed, from minor destructions like "Kuja Island" where the roof was destroyed, and part of the arena and the walls were too, to MarineFord, where the whole place is beyond fucked up.
There's no single place where Luffy passed through that stood the same before he joined.

Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but the sides of Decken's hat is upside while the shadow hat is
downside (maybe it's the angle). Also the shadow guy's back is pretty much luffys' with his shirt.

A good chapter. I guess Hyouzou is the swordsman Hatchan mentioned back in Arlong Park and he seems like a cool dude. Brook's sudden appearance was a pleasant surprise. Nice ending as well, interesting to see how Luffy defends.
Prophecies are always missunderstood. Even if Luffy does destroy it I'm sure it'll be for the good of people ultimately.

Yup–Luffy's hat is not ripped, for one thing, and the piece of her vision that we saw was in shadow, not showing the face, so I don't think it's Luffy. Surely that's just Madam Shirley overreacting from panic (lol) and making assumptions about who it is.

This is just to make Luffy an enemy and will turn up the action by having him and his crew become fugitives (much like Sky Island).

Luffy gets pissed, surely (I cannot get enough of that joke today apparently), but I can't imagine a rip in his hat making him lose it to the extent of destoying FI. Even when Buggy cut his hat with his knives in 3 places, he didn't lose it to that extent.
But Dofla. Now that is a sexy idea. Almost (but not quite) as sexy as the idea of a selection of Official Franky Nipple Lights

Lots of sides seem to be appearing in this arc. You got the royal army, the Fishmen pirate, Vanderdekken (sp?), and the Straw Hats.
And who knows…we might be in store for some appearances by Jinbei or Don Flamingo or whatnot.

This is by far my favorite chapter lately. So much has been explored in this chapter and peoples predictions proved wrong or right (okamas lol). I cannot believe how many different ways this arc can go now from all the revelations. I am so very excited for whats to come next now, whereas I was content with last chapter left off. Chapter was 10/10 for me, everything was great. I like the assassin. Zoro needs an opponent. or even brook.
So with Vivi's cover page, the next will probably be Carue. And then, maybe another cover story arc?

Oh, and also, Oda REALLY needs to work on not trying to fit so much into one chapter. The exposition in this chapter and some of the others recently has been flat out ridiculous! I barely got a chance to look at enjoy some of this chapters artwork because there was so many speech bubbles crowding every panel! The past few chapters have been this way, but I don't think any of them have been this over the top with it.
Rein it in, Oda! It's getting to be a bit much!

In the first panel we see a merman greeting a fishman, which may already show that they`re more friendly to each other than i first imagined them to be.

Seriously its not even funny anymore(well Sanji getting from those guys the blood is still kind of, thought), but i cant wish we would get one arc without them.
Luffy having antibodies against poisoning screams for me like we will see Magellan again.
Also i havent thought about that being the upgrade to fight finally the poison-fruit, but its not to far-fetched, seeing that also snake breeder which are biten more often, develop over time some kind of resistance against the poison..
Hyouzou being a stronger guy is awesome, because Hammond and his gang all being weaklings would be a chara waist.
But i guess here we have one of Zoros potential opponents. Cant wait to see him in the anime.
Also his scabbard looks rly stylish..maybe he has some kind of water-themed sword
Madam Shirley has a great design, but i somehow hoped for a "Ursula"-look a like fortune teller.:happy:
