Definitely Dokapon Kingdom.
Fun as hell game too if you ever enjoyed the atmosphere of getting friends together for Mario Party but think the series is too stale and want to spice up your desire to regret everything.
One time we got a bunch of people together online to play the Wii version. We had an impartial host livestream the game and we'd relay our commands and decisions to him and while kind of clunky it was honestly just about as fun as playing it in person.
I love playing the Japanese party games, especially when the beers have been flowing. Mario Party is fun enough when drunk. But One Piece Pirate Carnival is just insane when you are drunk and have no idea how you are supposed to play it.
i tried mario party drunk, then we started playing wario ware
lol.
Oh thanks guys, yea that's the one. I played the ds version awhile back and was looking it up. Dokapon Journey, but might get kingdom, invite a few friends over, bust out the alcohol and let the good times roll.
i love mario party drunk. Especially with my friends bad luck. Winning the whole game and last turn has evertything swapped with the 1 easy PC character we had
Is it just me or is Ninja Gaiden a difficult game to play? I just tried the demo for the new one coming out in April (Razor's Edge) and got my ass handed to me. stupid controls…
No it's not you the series has notorious history of being difficult but usually not because of it's controls.

Got the Wii U version. The regular mode is difficult. But there is also a casual mode for those who just want to experience the story.
It was a pretty decent game too. Especially liked the Ayane parts. Reminded me of a being a kid on a bouncy castle…..

I meant controls as in the square button doesn't do shit while the triangle one is the one chopping off limbs and heads left and right. Speaking of which, there was no combo possibility for the triangle button, leading to continuous one-hit attacks which clearly sucks. The square button managed to at least create a combo but while I was executing it, I got killed by the other dudes stabbing me in the back. If I at least had attacks that covered somewhat bigger areas (or at least a group of 3-4 chars) I could've worked with that but the way it was in the game, I kept losing. Granted I haven't played any of the other games of the series but still, usually I'm not that bad when trying out a new game… whatever, I'll be skipping it. Still thanks for the answer, bro.
I guess Nvidia wasn't impressed with David Cage's PS4 face demo.
To be honest, the demo you posted…over-the-top. TOO MUCH emotion.
If that's what Nvidia thinks peoples faces look like when showing emotion, then, they need to get out more.
^There is not much thought put in that opinion…
My two cents, it's pretty impressive. As a tech demo it demonstrates pretty well how much the facial parts are interconnected and shows pretty well how much movement within the face is possible. Given that it's pretty exaggerated for the purpose of demonstration I'd be more interested in seeing it in action and how well it can simulate subtility and not just the extremes.
I'm also not sure where to place this in the uncanny valley of facial animation, are we skipping the whole valley or will this tech land somewhere within that.

There's plenty of thought put into that opinion; 22 years of life experience. So I have no idea what you're talking about.
NOBODY emotes that much, literally. Unless they're trying to be over-the-top on purpose, or have some mental or facial muscle disorder. No one emotes like that in theater, in movies, heck…not even in modern games.
David Cage and the tech demo he showed during the PlayStation PS4 Conference is much more accurate to a person "emoting" (it looked better graphically too, in my opinion).
Eh as long as it doesn't look as wonky as the gambryeo engine's facial expressions, then I'm fine with it.

I was referring to the fact that you didn't ask yourself why it was so over the top, it's a tech demo is the answer. It looks more impressive in it's showcasing(as in possibilities) to me than what david cage showed. Also in real life people don't change expression every few seconds which adds to the over the top effect. I think it makes sense that it's better to have the ceiling be over the top expressions than normal everyday face. Also people can do quite the amazing faces even in real life as a developer you might never now when you would need that.
Also I seriously doubt you can speak for all the theaters in the world but at least in germany(well the ones I've been to) actors do exaggerated facial expressions so even the people in the back row can clearly see what is happening.
So no I don't see much thought put into your comment beyond seeing it and thinking "lololol over the top… what a terrible thing!"
I don't even think it was so over the top… some of the expressions conveyed stress/concern/worriedness through pretty subtle movements. No extremely crazy faces were made for the most part, even though they did keep repeating this fake-looking huge puffy-cheek smile.
But I also agree with DarthAsthma.

Agree to disagree then, because it looks over-the-top and stupid/fake to me. And David Cage's presentation surpassed it in every single way.

Yey thanks for totally missing the point. But so you can feel like you won an argument that was never there to begin with, I should point out that I didn't disagree anywhere with you on it looking fake or over the top to you. So with no one opposing that point, there is nothing to agree or disagree on.
If you get over your ego trip(sorry for the jerk alert but one can get so tired of this stuff…) you might want to reread what I wrote and might notice that I was just pointing out things and giving you information on the bigger picture of the tech demo, which doesn't have a dime to do with your opinion on how it looks to you. But has everything to do with what developers might be able to realise with it. So if you have processed that information your totally free to still think that it looks stupid or whatever.
As for your david cage comment that's just silly. From a developers perspective it didn't look as capable as the nvidia one but than everyone that has some common sense is surely aware that the demo might not have even shown the tip of what it would be capable of, and even more important it might still be a work in progress. So there is no real point to argue which was better other than the joy one might get out of "my daddy is stronger than your daddy" debate, personally not my thing though.

Also inbefore the whole nonesense of incoming Richard Garriott flames(who most here won't probably care about anyway but can't hurt to point out the obvious, right?).
Alright I saw this vid and became interested as this game has a very Arkham City esq feel to it.
The PS4 demo had much less expression on the face. They pretty much just messed with the guy's eyes. It was also against a black background while the Nvidia demo has a background, as blurred as it is. If this gets released to the public (which is doubtful anytime soon since it apparently was using 50% of the power of Nvidia's new Titan GPU) you should be able to get rid of the DoF to see the background, similar to with the fairy demo. Overall the difference between the two is kind of small, but the amount of expression as the lighting in Nvidia's looked much more impressive than Cage's.
You can even see changes in his ears during this expression

I think to put much of what you're saying concisely: The demo was intended to demonstrate the r****ange of possible facial movements, positions, and expressions. Not to show a slideshow of believable every-day expressions. It's a tech demo, not an artistic demo. Clearly with the ranges shown, shifting from any expression to any other expression that falls between the extremes is trivial from a technical standpoint.
^16 characters of gratitude for that
I know I'm a bit late….....but that new Tomb Raider game has insane graphics
Google has done something pretty cool. Via the chrome browser you can turn any webpage (including the very one we're on right now) into a game of marble madness.
You can control it with the tilt functions of your smartphone or with your keyboard.

So, even though I'm not sure I can trust Square to deliver anything worth noting, they've posted a teaser for a 10th anniversary since the merger with enix thing for tomorrow (though I guess it's today in Japan). Although I have to wonder if April fools is a thing in Japan considering the date http://mynintendonews.com/2013/03/31/square-enix-has-launched-10th-anniversary-teaser-site/
They should totally do Dragon Quest VIII HD for it considering that was their first major title after the merger. Not their first release or anything, but it was the major property of Enix.
Yeah it needs to be given a HD remake. And it's the only title not on a Nintendo system. So that needs to be rectified.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera the torment kickstarter is ending soon and they might reach 4 million which would be the highest funding a game would have ever received there.
So I broke and chimed in maybe some of you decide to do the same in memory of planescape: torment probably the best story that was written for those kind of rpgs.
Kickstarter funded game Cryamore has a prototype out. It looks really promising, and it reminds me a bit of Brave Fencer Musashi. Well, the hud and use of abilities that is.
Looking forward to playing more of the demo after coming home from my odd job.

Oh, this is really neat, I hadn't heard about it at all. Planescape was an absolutely amazing game, so if this is really going to be a spiritual successor to it, I can't help but look forward to when it eventually comes out.
And a new highest funding record? So I suppose the formerly-record shattering Double Fine game is being surpassed. Or was it already? I don't really keep up with these things, I guess.
So torment did it reached 4 million and surpassed project eternity for highest funded game project ever. I'm excited!

Last half hour, "just" around 215k to reach the ultimate stretch goal :D
DO IT GUYS, PLEDGE FOR TORMENT =)
So torment is still a bit short for the last stretch goal anyone that was unsure can still contribute via paypal until the end of april. So maybe there is a chance that the last stretchgoal might make it into the game.

This isn't that gaming related right now, but the tech is pretty cool and could have ramifications for games later.
Also torment ist short of 140k for its last stretchgoal
Sega trailer:
Looks weird…
It looks kind of like Snow White.
Also, get off your ass and make a new Jet Set Radio game Sega.

99% off the retail of 15 hundred smackers! What a fucking steal, I'm preordering that shit before it changes!
Look at the specs.
The entire page is filled with stuff.
Wow…when I thought about VR, I did not expect one would have to RUN everywhere. Imagine the workout you would get if you walked across the entire Skyrim map in VR...
Hmm, now that I think about it, that'd be great exercise...in a deceptive sort of way.

And now imagine the heart attacks you'll get from being immersed in Silent Hill. Or Amnesia. Do not want.
My apartment isn't big enough to have me walking around to VR a videogame. I'd be running into walls every ten seconds.

Oh man, that looks lovely. It has all the makings of a classic FPS. The weapon loadout seems limited, but hopefully that wasn't everything. The maps are what are impressing me the most, honestly.
Been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2 lately, addicted to the map 2Fort. Apparently it's considered a "crappy" map by some crowds but I love it. It has a rather nice mix of terrain, from water to sewers to an intelligence room. Plus it's really easy for me to just pound snipers across the map with rockets and that's not quite as easy to do on a lot of maps. Just shoot once, rocket jump over to them, and boom they're dead and I'm in the base. I usually wait a bit to do this 'cause otherwise there's tons of enemies on top of the bridge coming after me. If you're quick enough there'll be only a level 1 sentry in the enemy base.
Also as an Engineer I'm having way, way too much fun building level 3 sentries either in the sewers or under the water on 2Fort. No one expects it (at least on the servers I've played) and I always get a few kills on them before they try to dismantle them.
