Nintendo is working and planning their next console
-
It will be the "Wii U2 Don't worry we won't force this on your Apple account"
-
This post is deleted!
-
Well of course they're working on the next console, that never stops.
But there's a big difference between "We're working on the next thing" and "we plan to launch something in a year."
-
More like a "New WiiU".
-
3WiiU .
-
Well following Nintendo naming conventions:
'New Nintendo WiiU for playing Nintendo WiiU games on (connects to your TV)'
-
-
2Wii4Mii (or 2Wii4U)

I've got news for you.
So is Sony. So Is Microsoft.
You can expect that R&D for the next console from any of the major manufacturers starts before the most recent one even hits store shelves for the first time. This is just Nintendo confirming they're working on it. Not news IMO.
-
I hope the next console won't come until at least end of 2017, cause if it comes out in 2016, then it will be too short of a life span for the console and people will be pissed. 5 year run should be the minimum.^^

I see the "New" 3DS as being basically like the Nintendo DSi. It's basically the same system but has SOME new functionality that sets it apart.
DSi ended up only having 4 exclusive titles, and I don't think a single one of them was released in every region, but they were still a thing. I think we'll see similar results here. I don't think Nintendo is going to flood the market with New 3DS exclusive titles. There may be a small library's worth, and other games may have exclusive content despite also working on the Vanilla 3DS, but I'm positive it's not going to be a MAJOR thing. I mean, other than Xenoblade Chronicles, do we know of ANY New 3DS exclusive stuff?
-
I just want an exclusive Wario Ware New 3ds exclusive that has a game that uses both pads called "Twist the nipples". It would be worth it.
-
WarioWare featuring Waluigi.
-
WarioWare featuring Queen Bee.

it's news to the idiots who always clamor that nintendo is doomed and going third party

The amiibo situation got more interesting.

I'm not a Lucario main and/or collecting it, but….really???? What the heck?
-
I know, I'm just surpise that they are canceling Lucario like that. I got the Zelda amiibo today and its a nice figure.
-
Hopefully this one comes over like the Final Fantasy ones did. Other than being a sucker for rhythm games, I've actually played a few Dragon Quest games unlike FF. So hurry up and take my money Square Enix.
Curtain Call is still amazing even though I've never heard most(90%) of the songs in there. With Dragon Quest, that'd drop to probably 70%
-
Hunter X Hunter will never get out of Hiatus. Also, i'm a little intrigued of that new kind of yellow pointer. Or is it me cause i never play with the pad?
-
Cool that the dragon quest series is getting a theatrythm game, but man I do not like the character style in those games. It's like having miis wear cosplay of nintendo characters. Just not the same.^^
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Cancelling amiibos, not selling some after they didn't perform well and them only having a small effect on most games, it sure seems like it's nothing more than some figures for fans to collect and nowhere near as useful as skylanders or disney infinity figures.

Well, its giving Nintendo more money after a time of crisis so…Yay?
-
Sure, but giving a better reason for amiibos to exist would give more people the incentive to buy them and thus give nintendo more money. Everybody would be happy.^^
Btw, what is up with the bad virtual console support on wii u. No N64 games, nes/snes etc. libraries are small, still no ds games.
-
No N64 games, nes/snes etc. libraries are small,
What you figured they were just gonna throw up every N64, NES, & Super Nes title from the Wii's VC onto the Wii U's VC?
still no ds games.
They never gave a definite time table for DS games so you'll be waiting probably til 2015 at the earliest before anything happens.
-

I'm kind of amazed that they haven't done this…
-
I'm kind of amazed that they haven't done this…
Might be compatibility issues…but who knows.
-
I remember their having issues with putting some N64 games up due to the quality of the emulator on the Wii, or at least when people were shoving different ROMs into VC packages some of them didn't work completely right, and I guess they still haven't figured out how to get everything working 100% on a different system with different architecture.
That said, even though I get that emulators on computers go through multiple steps and different versions before becoming refined, it does seem kind of silly that the parent company of the actual games would have difficulty crafting an emulator capable of running their own games.
-
If they can't put games that are running on freaking psps through emulators onto a more powerful console, and don't even have games on it that were on the freaking wii, then yeah there is a problem.
-
[Even then, the Daedalus emulator is not 100% compatible with every single game out there.
F](http://forums.daedalusx64.com/compat.php)or Nintendo, actually selling these games for some amount of income means that the games should be able to run smoothly rather than simply acceptable standards
-
There is no good N64 emulator besides the Wii, btw.

Yeah Nintendo doesn't need the emulated versions of their games turning out like their Amiibos:ninja:.

Factory defect N64 emulators selling on ebay for $100K
-
Random people who make emulators illegally don't have to worry about shit that the companies have to worry about, such as costs of bringing a game back from a previous console and making sure it still operates up to par. We're talking at the least weeks of testing, more if you have multiple lines of dialogue and various languages to deal with in the game, more time too if it so happens you have to get the game approved by rating boards in different regions.
Probably why certain games keep coming up over and over again. And why there's no hurry for Wii games seeing how you can play them in Wii mode on your Wii U anyway, so why go through a costly effort when the game is technically already available.
I do hope though that they step it up with certain games though.Regarding amiibo, I'm quite happy with their performance seeing how the ones I've trained can sometimes even give me a run for my money unless I go all out with my main. Fantastic sparring buddies, great for doubles, and definitely something that adds to the longevity of the game.
I realize how much more skylanders and disney infinity do, but their gig involves having to pay money to be able to use content you want. So in terms of comparisons I would not compare an optional feature that lands you new content AND is a collectible vs. a toy scheme that entails you have to constantly spend shorts bursts of $20 to use new content you want to use. -

Samus-themed Robin? Wii Fit-themed Nami? Link-themed Zoro?
dies
EDIT: Developers missing out….because a Pikachu-themed Chopper would fit too much. Ikue Otani voices them both!
-
Wow, they legit look awesome, not like the amiibo mario kart bootleg costumes. xD
-
It's a lost opportunity that there's no Robin amiibo yet, because I would love to see Robin-themed Robin.

Robinception?
Well they're both the most intelligent/scholarly of their groups. XD
-
Now i regret not buying the new 3ds.
-
The only thing I don't like is once the game comes out and I wanna have the costumes, I will need to buy so many amiibos. :( And what if some of them like the trainer are sold out and never coming back.
-
Now i regret not buying the new 3ds.
Supposedly next year they'll also have the amiibo reader for the 3DS anyway, so it's just a matter of having some patience.
I personally had never looked at this one piece game before and it looks pretty fun. Wouldn't mind picking it up.
