@Cyan:
I want this more than Metroid.
I'm having a lot of fun with Captain Toad right now, so I'll second that as well.

They also mentioned that the Wii U Star Fox game will be coming out before Zelda does, which was surprising.
I don't know how the battle system was in Thousand Year door but Mario Story didn't exactly have a much better battle system itself.
you serious? ignoring the slander about paper mario's classic battle system, sticker star is so much worse that it isn't even comparable.
No partners, mario is the only party member.
can't select your target, only the first enemy in line.
no FP or Star meter management or items or badges, everything has been simplified down to "stickers", ie "a dozen or so basic attacks without any of the interesting effects"
and worst of all, no exp. Meaning the only reward for winning battles is stickers, which you had to spend to win said battles. The "smart" way to play is to avoid all battles, because you can find plenty of stickers in the wild.
Even if you think Paper Mario is a poor man's version of whatever you hold as an ideal, you have to admit Sticker Star must be the absolutely destitute man's version.
Well sure, have those teams make other games
I guess I don't see why you think mario/zelda/mariokart games happening means no other games will happen. Insert picture of that little spanish girl going "why not both" here.
That Zelda Wii U reminds me Shadow of the Colossus.
you serious? ignoring the slander about paper mario's classic battle system,
I'm kind of preferable to battle systems not hamstrung by the whole we cannot go on without you mechanic. And the fact that your team members essentially fuction as extensions to Mario's turns in battle and not much else. Sticker Star might've not had hit the mark by tweaking the mechanics of the battle system they way they did but at the very least they tried to tweak something that wasn't exactly fantastic to start with.

Only a few. And Mario and Zelda will always get the big budget focus.

Well…Marth & Villager probably are the worst looking amiibos yet. Maybe Nintendo finally noticed that and wants to renew them. :ninja:

So the big "announcement" last night was the Zelda Wii U game?
But everyone knew that existed. I was expecting an actual announcement

Dude, but you say it like what they did in Sticker Star was a good thing.
Expanding on a system to improve the combat is what Thousand-Year Door did. It still had its faults that made badges broken as fuck and everything easy mode, but partners were more detached and the theater audience system was a fresh addition.
Ignoring all that progress completely, progress that people liked, and going completely the opposite way first to the point it's hardly an RPG anymore (Super Paper Mario) and the to the point might as well not be a paper mario game but just stickers and roulettes … it's bullshit. To me it's an insult as a fan of the series, I'd rather you leave a franchise alone than turn it into a shallow sequel that prides itself in taking the unique paper mario idea and turning it into the overdone mario platformer ideas because "look kids, it's mario! Give us money!"
You know, it's like how they took the unique Wario Ware formula and turned it into Tech Demos the game.
Well…Marth & Villager probably are the worst looking amiibos yet. Maybe Nintendo finally noticed that and wants to renew them. :ninja:
I hope so. Villager would be great to work with any future Animal Crossing titles, and Marth….well, Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei is still a thing.
I don't think they can do anything better than TTYD anyway.
I don't think they can do anything better than TTYD anyway.
They could at least have better level design. Too much of ttyd was bland enemy-filled corridors, or repeating the same 5 screens multiple times, or even worse, the two combined. the spoopy woods, the island jungle, the train itself, the moon, the x-nauts base, etc. There's even like 6 rooms with nothing in them except a single enemy leading up to the Gloomtail fight, FOR WHAT PURPOSE? And as based as Glitzville was, its level design consisted of a plaza, some hallways, and a locker room.
I found the Wii Fit Trainer Amiibo at Target and got it, since it got discontinued.
I highly doubt that any of the amiibos have been discontinued. Just… that Nintendo is being absurdly bad about these figurine sales and hardware production (coughgamecubecontrolleradaptercough) around the holiday season
I personally went only for wii fit trainer and villager from the start, so saved myself the trouble of this affecting me.
Nintendo made it clear before certain amiibo would not last forever. Good to take into account when lesser characters get their amiibo
Captain Falcon Amiibos will be popular enough to be sold until judgement day.
Warioware could have been so fucking good on the Wii U ;_;
Warioware could have been so fucking good on the Wii U ;_;
warioware makes for a great portable time killer, and a great party game. Game & Wario botched it by just being a stupid minigame collection, I don't know what they were thinking.
A true Warioware game whose microgames take advantage of the dual-screen nature of the wiiU would be great. passing around the gamepad for multiplayer, hot-potato style. but also 4 player mode using wiimotes. and the extra fun doodads which would each have you using the gamepad in some creative/stupid way.
Just give me Rhythm Heaven and I'm good.
Warioware could have been so fucking good on the Wii U ;_;
I love Warioware, and naturally I was disappointed to learn Game&Wario was just a minigame collection. Um….hope for 3DS, at least? I mean DS got two, three if you want to count Snapped.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
Seems there's hope after all for Villager/Marth/Wii Fit mains :)
i'm surprised 3ds does not have a wario ware game already tbh.

For the Earthbound fans it's still unconfirmed though so take with smallest grain of salt
Fake as hell. No reason to believe this one
i'll take it with the smallest grain of salt. but i can dream
Earthbound Forever is a depressing sounding name.
Earthbound Forever is a depressing sounding name.
Yeah Earthbound Fornever would've been a bit better of a title/
I'd be interested in this idea if it's true (big if). Mother 1 has me curious to see the series' beginnings, and I could finally see why everyone loves Mother 3 so much. Like I know it takes you for an emotional roller coaster throughout but it's another to actively experience it, you know?

USB compatible Controllers?
Even then, I prefer using an actual TV. Plus my laptop isn't the sharpest device out there.
is it true some Amiibos are discontinued? ive read that its confirmed or a rumor. i got the villager for smash and havent seen a few others in stores like the wii fit trainer
No it got confirmed today as not true. Same for GameCube adapters. Just don't expect them before Christmas unless your lucky

Yeah, so far, Marth, WFT and Villager are being discontinued. Tho, Nintendo promised that the mainstays like Mario, Link, etc would never go out of print.

actually
….... Well, this is kindof a custler$#@%
As far as Earthbound Forever goes, I'm taking it with a massive grain of salt. Still, that would be a day one buy for me if it was true - I'm a sucker for video game compilations (particularly for series that I didn't get the chance to play, like Mega Man, Mother, or Devil May Cry), and I've really enjoyed Earthbound from what I've played of the eShop version (just beat Master Belch).
….... Well, this is kindof a custler$#@%
yeah ur right because
didn't notice this when I posted that but you were right although it isn't confirmed which ones will be discontinued

This is really interesting and if true is a day 1 buy for me.
So far, I've only played Mother 1, and I can say that I did greatly enjoy it (tho, I played Mato's fan translation, specifically because they rebalanced the game for that hack and you can choose to play the rebalanced version by wearing an equitable item the game starts you with)
I just hope if this is true, and the new game isn't simply a compilation but they actually completely retool the games and/or give the games new updated graphics, then I hope they take the time to completely rebalance the first game, ESPECIALLY The Holy Loly Mountain…... Even with Mato's hack, that part of the game was a ridiculous grind.
Mother 2 and 3 are on my list of classic games to play... wonder now if I should put them off to see if this pans out, or if I should still play the originals anyway so I can experience the originals before the (Hopeful) Remake.
So many misguided reasons to not play Mother 3 within the same page @_@
Seriously, this is the sort of game that deserves to be experienced. I am one of the more console-heavy gamers ever, I dislike the idea of playing on my computer because it's just not the same feeling for me, but skipping out on Mother 3 because of that would be a tremendous loss, especially since there's still no evidence of Nintendo ever giving it to us. Which also means waiting for it to ever happen and not playing it because of that is depriving yourself from a fantastic experience.
We knew that some amiibos would be discontinued and quickly but it's been confirmed that none of the original wave will at this time. My guess is little mac, ness, mega man, duck hunt, game and watch and rob. Are very likely to be discontinued after their first wave

But we need Ness's for Earthbound Forever.:ninja:
Also a Duck Hunt amiibo would be awesome, switch to the red-black color scheme and name it…."BanjoKazoo" (-ie, the limit is only 10 characters for a nickname)
i know i'm getting the little mac, captain falcon, shulk, ness and mega man figures when they come out. But i can't afford all of them. I want lucina and pit at some point. Got to really consider duck hunt duo though. But i like your idea :D

Normally applied to bad booking in wrestling but it might be apropos here too…...especially if someone's really that fucking stupid to waste that much money a defect Amiibo figure.
So if i was an Amiibo i would be worth a lot of money. Damn.

I have a tiny set of legs in my left ankle if you put "Hello my honey" in a record player they dance to the tune.
