To be fair, Intelligent Systems was also set on their sticker system, they did that all on their own. The game would have been better if it had been allowed to have interesting characters, interesting locales, and a decent amount of story/writing, but it still would have had a battle system that's shallow as hell and discourages you from actually playing the game.

I don't know how the battle system was in Thousand Year door but Mario Story didn't exactly have a much better battle system itself.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

The screen cut aways are annoying as hell. It's like a hundred trifoces. I keep wanting to see Zelda.
