Am I the only one here who watches the episodes regardless of the supposed quality of the episodes?
469: ''Kuma's Change - Iva's Furious Attack''
-
-
This week seems still fine… Next week's going to be the dud according to the trailer.
-
Actually I can forgive the filler. This chapter was a bit on the short side only 14 pages so I can understand why they added the filler.
-
After the crappy week I had..
Thank you Toei..I really needed this..
-
Well, all good things must come to an end. After a string of good episodes, we finally have a dud.
They spent way too much time on that dumb Hancock scene, and added nothing of redeeming value to it (like say, explaining where the hell that key came from?!). Ivankov's fight with Kuma was completely underwhelming, and it's really annoying how everything grinds to a hault whenever someone delivers exposition. Though I suppose to be fair on that last point, you don't actually have to say things out loud in manga, so it gives the illusion of speed.
Disappointing episode, I hope the next one picks things up again.
The Episode Director this week is 上田芳裕 (Yoshihiro UEDA), and he also directed Ep.462.
I don't like Ep. 462 and I don't like this episode either, for IMO the pacing is really bad. Hancock's filler is fun, though.
-
I thought this episode was pretty good. The only lack luster part, for me, was the Galaxy Wink. Not really the impact…just the execution of the attack itself. They could have given the winks more "oomph".
-
It wasn't a bad episode, but weaker than the past few. Though to be fair, this part in the manga didn't really have much happening either.
Ivankov was great this episode. And the bit with Crocodile/Doflamingo/Jozu was interesting.
-
Anyone find Luffy's panting at the end to be really strange?
And as much as I am a Hancock found, the whole fantasy thing was a bit over the top, but it was a short chapter, so they needed to kill some time. I still laughed my ass off, especially when the curtain came down and she went all. "I kill you bitch!" on Smoker.
-
It was a pretty good episode. Just like what some other people said, nothing much happened in the this episode's corresponding manga. Just think of it as an episode adding "gusto" for us to watch the next episode, which I think would be really BADASS.
I'm looking forward to Hancock's filler about getting the key to ace's locks.
The sound that Hancock made when luffy hugged her is now my RINGTONE hahahahah.
BTW, the drawings for this episode, particularly the "Candy Boys" were not so good. Do you guys agree?
Anyway, this week would be one of the longest weeks in my life. Accdg. to the preview of episode 470, the definition of "BADASS" will be an understatement. have fun!
-
I was loling pretty hard at the marriage thing.
-
yess this episode definetly doesn't fair well against the previous ones.
The noises from hancock after he hugged her were just weird, and sounded like I was listening to a hentai rofl
oh and Croc got pwned,
this i did not like at all….. -
Anyone noticed they used Strong world's ost when Hancock was doing her stuff.
Anyone lol hard when the curtain close and she came back to reality.
-
This has to be the most terrible One Piece episode since early Impel Down.
Toei really killed One Piece… this doesn't even begin to do the manga any justice. QUALITY everywhere, the ridiculousness of everything is way overplayed and there's absolutely no sense of scale, of grandeur in the anime - it's like there's about 5 people in the battlefield at any given time. Doesn't feel like a war at all.
-
Even though its filler, I got to love all the Hancock and Luffy stuff. That is right Luffy, make her happy for the rest of her life. lol
-
Meh….pretty bad episode. The thing with Hancock went on for quite a bit longer than it should of, and the scenes with Ivankov were way too slow. Especially when Ivankov attacked. I don't know why they just have Kuma standing there....and going by the manga, I expected Galaxy Wink to be a pretty quick and rapid attack. This was just silly.
The bit with Crocodile was nice, but it seemed way too quick or off or something.
Well, here's to the next episode being better. It looks pretty good at least.
-
I loved everything in this episode except the Galaxy Wink, it wasn't well handled, for various reasons
A) Don't make it look like Ivancof is actually creating little shadows of himself, its fairly obvious that the thousand faces are a illusion of speed.
B) It took way too long for him to actually wink him, the 20 seconds between the Spectrum and the Wink took the credibility of Kuma and the awesomeness of that scene
C) The Wink looked wink, which was even worse given the fact it made Kuma fly to a Iceberg
Regardless, I liked it, specially the Marriage thing and the last few minutes of the episode
Edit: Has Markku said, this really doesn't feel like a war, it looks more like a little skirmish, like 30 on 30, even the Survival Game from Skypiea looked bigger than this
-
This episode was disappointing.
The HancockxLuffy marriage filler was funny, but dragged out waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking long.
Ivankov's Galaxy Wink looked horrible.
The Buggy and co. filler was random, but the "Blah-blah-blah-Buggy is great" part made me rofl hard.
Crocodile getting owned by Jozu was almost as epic as it was in the manga. At the end, Luffy sounded like he was having a fucking asthma attack.
What the hell, Toei?
7/10
-
fucking asthma attack
I would too if I had just ran a lot and suddenly saw fucking Mihawk right in my face with his sword ready to cut me in pieces
-
I would too if I had just ran a lot and suddenly saw fucking Mihawk right in my face with his sword ready to cut me in pieces
Yeah, that's true.
But the way it sounded made it seem like Luffy was gonna fall over gasping for air. -

Who wouldn't?
Shanks, maybe.:ninja:
-
This ep shows just how much of a tank Kuma is. It took that much to knock Kuma but was he hurt in the least? No. The only person I see being able to successfully defeat Kuma is Mihawk.
-
Even though its filler, I got to love all the Hancock and Luffy stuff. That is right Luffy, make her happy for the rest of her life. lol
Amen to that, It was funny as hell! I definitely have some new Hancock screen shots now.
The way that Hancock was shivering when Luffy was hugging her looked like she literally came from sheer happiness, lol.
Oh, and by the way, DAMN Hancock's Tall!
-
Terrible fight scenes this ep. Didn't like it at all.
-
The war's had some nice pacing so far, imo…
...until this episode. Man, this one was painful. I'll admit at getting a chuckle out of how over-the-top Hancock's reaction was, but it was really stretched out.
Only parts I liked were the scenes with Crocodile and Mihawk's entrance at the end. Ah, well. I guess we have to have episodes like this occasionally.
I was hoping for Tate next week, but it still looks pretty good for the most part.
-
The scenes with Dofla, Croc and Jozu were great, and so was Mihawk's appearance. Iva's fight…not so much, unfortunately.
Even though its filler, I got to love all the Hancock and Luffy stuff. That is right Luffy, make her happy for the rest of her life. lol
The marriage fantasy is even funnier after…recent events.
Anyway, i find it amusing how the anime tries to sex up pretty much every scene with Hancock. This time she basically had an orgasm on-screen. -
Bring on the gifs for the Hancock being hugged by Luffy scene lol
Dry sex for days lol
Episode only picked up at the end when Jozu punches Crocoboy in the face -
The noises from hancock after he hugged her were just weird, and sounded like I was listening to a hentai rofl
My boyfriend walked in and actually thought I was watching a hentai. I had to explain to him what was going on and why "this chesty lady" was having a Luffy-gasm. He was pretty damn interested in watching the show with me until I told him that unlike some animes I watch, OP will not be showing any nudity.
Overall the pacing in this episode wasn't horrible but it was painfully slow at times. Like the battle between Iva and Kuma and Hancock's wedding fantasy. However things did pick up when Croc enters the scene.
Looking forward to next week episode. It looks very action heavy.
-
Bad episode, too many fillers. By the way, does anybody know what happened to the previous voice actor of Mihawk? The voice is different. I liked the previous one, he had such a strange voice.
-
My reactions on the marriage filler scene:
TTOOOOOEEEIIIIIII!!!!! -
Yohohohohohohohohoo
-
Just saw the episode, and yeah, it was lackluster. :< Hope for better next week.
-
The Hancock filler was funny, but it would have been more effective if it were say 30 seconds and not 5 friggin minutes. The second half was much better though.
Definitely among the worst episodes in the arc so far I think, but next episode looks really good.
-
I like manga Hancock in that "some will find her terrible others will find her endearing" sort of way but anime Hancock is just painful to watch at times, my god. And Luffy's breathing at the end? W….T....F? This episode was pretty bad.

Why does everyone hate the breathing at the end? I did feel it was a little… odd, but it was something different at least. And he was running, so that makes perfect sense.
-
I thought the Hancock filler was never going to end.
Yeah, this episode ranks right up there with the very worst of the war.
-
so what happend:
hancock orgasmd
again
iva fight kuma
buggy
epic mihawk
ends
well yeah….
the last few minutes were good i guess...
-
Happy to see that I am not the only one whom felt very 'meh' about this episode. Worst episode in a while but still OK. The next few promise to be rather awesome though.
-

You forgot the croccy scene.
-
-
Croc getting ramjmed by Diamond Joz was nice, but apart from that this episode was very disappointing. Also what was with getting a perspective shot from three differnt angles after every attack and in Hancock's orgasm scene, it just got really annoying after a while.
-
it isn't unusual for the anime to take too long to show something unlike the manga. but it was a good episode.
-
Why oh Why did they replace Mihawk's voice? This one sucks big ass major donkey balls.
-
Okay episode, I liked some parts of it.
The directing was quite bad in this one, and the animation was overall meh, except for the crocodile part that looked good.
I'm extremely disappointed that next week isn't Tate.
-
Bad pacing and meh animation, but the chapter wasn't that good in the manga either.
@Thatanas:Why oh Why did they replace Mihawk's voice? This one sucks big ass major donkey balls.
Because the original VA is sick…
-
I got to say Hancock scene was funny even though she looked different every 2 seconds. and Crock is always good even though Dofla is having alot of screen time.
there was too much talking in the episode!!and of course Ivankov's old voice is still missing, "HEE-HAA" and "Wink" sounds terrible!!
-
Man i miss Mihawk's old voice like hell, not that this one is bad but the first was so fitting…
Episode was bad a bit, even if the Hancock part made me chuckle.
-
I liked this episode.. The Hancock scene was funny and I thought it was kind of cool how she snapped out quickly and attacked Smoker.
And Hawkeyes' eyes looked like hawk eyes for the first time to me xD
-
Great, another shitty war episode.
The anime is really trying to ruin this arc for me as much as possible, isn't it?
And I just can't get over at how fuckin' stupid that Hancock thing is. Manga spoiler;! I don't get it. How the fuck is it possible for her to keep her Shichibukai status? She blatantly admited that she is in love with Luffy, right in front of the fuckin' marines.
Fuck, why is everything connected to this character so terrible. -
Definitely not the best episode, but showed a lot more Doflamingo so <3
