If that was aimed towards me. Not really going for Hancock will join. More along the lines of you can't count her out yet. Especially when Perona isn't out. I have more reason to believe Hancock is at SA than Perona. Yet I see some of the Perona fraction gloating that Hancock is knocked out.

The only possibility I can think of is Perona, who was also pawed by Kuma, but this is possible only if Zoro brought her along. If she doesn't appear in the next chapter, then I will assume there will be no more new members.

Seeing some of the post-time skip designs I have less qualms about Jinbei's relative strength. and could believe that Luffy is stronger by now, but nothing really supports this, so I'm just going to sit back and let his case unfold.

Guys, no one is going to join at this point. It's the big reunion for the strawhats, and incorporating a new member now would ruin the entire dynamic of the moment.

When Luffy promised to introduce his crew to her, it seemed like Oda was setting up more opportunity to develop her character. I mean, sure, there's little reason to speculate about her, especially now, but back at the start of Impel Down there were no other viable candidates. Well, I started the Jinbei stuff at that point, but outside of that there was nothing else that I can remember. Maybe Camie or Hachi.

Yeah, you've pretty much outlined my earlier stance in your post. I thought that there were some good directions her character could be taken in, given her apparent growing interest in Luffy and being the only one to stand up for him, and compared to the names everyone else was throwing around in the thread, I could actually imagine her as a part of and interacting with the crew (plus I was amused at her semblence to a certain Go Nagai heroine).
But she barely got any billing after Marineford and the related events was settled, so that ship has sailed unless Oda wants to pull a big ''Gotcha!'' moment, but that would feel very out of place right now. It's time to move on. She'll live on in Luffy's Jerry Seinfeld shirt.
That's the thing with dealing with Oda's large and diverse cast; there are a lot of potentially interesting characters that could be expanded upon, but that doesn't always happen.
