I'm more in favour of her not being there - but I don't have nearly as much to lose as some here.

Already explained the situation. Most of us gave up after this chapter. She won't join.
Unless Oda pulls a Robin. I mean, back at the war I was convinced since the start that Ace was going to die. Then Luffy rescues him, and WB himself stays behind to hold the line while his crew and allies escape. That chapter made me think that Ace would survive, maybe, and I gave up on the prediction.
Then BOOM, in the very next chapter Ace suffers the mortal wound that would kill him.
I don't expect it to happen, though. I've officially give up. Still like the character, and if anything changes, I'll be the happiest fan ever, but I don't think it will anymore.
If you wanna find some amusing Hancock fans unwilling to give up, search in OneManga forums. There are some cursing Oda right now and wishing his wife leaves him "for being such a pig" (no, I'm not joking).

Like some of us say, the problem isnt Perona, we know if Oda actually wanted to put her in the crew we would eventually like her because Oda would do a good job, the problem is that all the theories are completelly retarded and some of them dont have even the minimun sense to be even called retarded.

Some were not too bad - but just failed to be enough.
Being a scout when others covered that.
Being Unique but not enough connection with the crews ideals
Being Female to somehow balance the crew.It's just too much about her and the limitedness she showed made arguments on both sides convincing for some and impossible for others.
Now we just play the waiting game to see who was right - who's Justice continues for certain no reprieve - no missinterpritation just pure fact to back someone up. -

It seems to me that some of the people here that dont want perona to join so badly is mainly due to the fact that they will be wrong because they predicted she would not, dont get me worng am not a perona supporter nor am I against her, am going with what ever oda decides, and that means if he has already decided for her to join the crew then all I have to say is In oda we trust, and I trust he will do a good job and intergrate her into the strawhat family, if he hasnt then I will accept whoever he picks for the crew ^^

I doubt it, Oda is a great story teller, I have no Idea what you have against a fictional character that makes you believe that she will ruin the whole manga, I was never happy with robin joining when I first saw her, her personality was different at first and I didnt like her but after we learned of her history we kinda all warmed up to her including the strawhats.
I think if oda maybe changed her a bit like he did with robin personality/ appreance wise and showed us where she came from and what happend to her then maybe all you perona haters can rest easy for once, as for me I think she would be a great addition to the group and I really dont mind ^^

As many better posters than I have mentioned, Robin wasn't a whiny bitch and had more backstory than Perona upon joining.
To put it simply, Perona is a terrible character and would contribute nothing to the Straw Hats. So yes, if she were to join, the manga would essentially be ruined.

Yet, if we play into your deranged little thoughts of her wanting to join out of the blue, wouldn't she go with Zoro to Shakky's bar? No one there would recognize her, and Zoro would tell them if she wanted to join. Then, when Sanji came, you'd think she tell him something important like someone wanting to join the crew.
But, she didn't. Because she's not A. there, B. wanting to join, or C. Both.

I agree fullheartedly with this. I have absolutely nothing against Perona, and I still have some faint hope for her to be in Sabaody. It's the clutching on straws that aren't there that's bothersome. I can't see how anybody would be convinced 100% that she will join, nor the opposite. Anti-Perona are celebrating their victory every week while Pro-Perona are just looking for more obscure clues for every day that passes. Feels too much like desperation from both sides.

Why do they suddenly give up... Boa is maybe not that important anymore to join... BUT she hasn't got any goodbye screen, which she deserves.
