how about you guys make a "death pact"?–--- Just like Jerk Disease and AGOG did********
Not worth doing a deathpact with an account that only sprung up this month - besides it's likely just a trolling account for someone who needs people to argue with them to feel someform of validation.
You know like the guys who "bump" into women because it's the only way they can say they have had female contact in 6 months. -

Also, I will not reply to this further … So there is no point for this to go on any longer at least from my point of view because your words have no value whatsoever.
Sure, we can agree on that. There's better things than to argue online, especially since we just can't understand each other.
Um … what's on topic ... are people generally giving up on Surume, or is there still hope for it joining the crew?
-
@Lazy:
I think the next Straw Hat will be Bonney. Her eating habits are perfect for the crew, she has a strange yet useful power, and she's a girl.
I can't believe how many of these Bonney will be a Straw Hat posts I've read in the last few days. It makes no sense. The main reasons why characters like Perona and Hancock and Bonney would/will never be SHs is because of their abilities. Imagine if before the battle with the New Fishman Pirates if any of them were there as SHs. Perona could use Hollows and "pacify" them all. Boring. Hancock could turn them all to stone (iffy, but possible). Boring. Bonney would turn them all to children or old men. Boring. Think about that. Characters with "hax" abilities like those will never end up as a SH. They're all great characters, but come on.

I 100% believe Surume and his brothers will show up later in the story, but a crew member? I don't see it.

if it was that easy, then everyone at the war would have been petrified. bonney would have never got beat by blackbeard and so on.
their powers seem godly, but so did robins. never overestimate someones power did not crocodile tell us that some thousand chapters ago

You can reduce almost any character's fighting style to 'boring'.I wasn't talking about the character's powers as they definitely aren't boring. I was saying how boring it would be for the Straw Hats (and readers) if every one of the NFPs was either "pacified" by Perona's Hollows, Hancock's stoning, or Bonney's age changing. There would be no point in any of the SHs even fighting ever. I'll give you Robin's powers seemed a little overpowered initially, but she has to concentrate to use it, which usually leaves her wide open to attack. Perona, Hancock, and Bonney (as far as we know) have no such limitation.

Perona: Immature, easily distracted, naive… (I could go on and on)
Hancock would spend half the battle fawning over Luffy. Plenty of opportunities to attack her then.
As for Bonney, did any of Blackbeard's crew seem older or younger to you? Obviously, she has her share of weaknesses. -

Actually, for Bonney I think the most likely explanation is that her power requires her to touch people to change their age, and that she's also really fast. So she can easily take out a bunch of Marine Fodder by moving through them and changing all their ages rapidly, but against people like the Blackbeards who can actually react to some one with super-speed, her only form of attack was rendered useless. It would also explain why they only chained up her hands when they tried to trade her to the Marines–its the only part of her that's actually dangerous.

To all who say that our love is blind, I'd say just the opposite: we've been keeping an eye on the details with a pair of binoculars and noses up to the page looking for the clues. To all the Jinbe doubters, these are the bare minimum of moments that people are gonna look back on and wonder how there could have ever been any doubt:
1. Jinbe's initial name drop as a potentially bigger bad than Arlong.
2. The revelation that Jinbe was, in fact, a true-'n-blue good guy and friend of Ace.
3. Being a part of the Impel Down breakout and demonstrating his unique skills with Fishman karate and calling his whale shark buds.
4. Realizing that he'll have to eventually apologize for Arlong's misdeeds and thank Luffy for stopping him.
5. His out-of-the-blue flashbacks to Ace detailing a request to look out for Luffy that could have been made earlier in their cell in real time without much problem, where instead the request was placed in the middle of his looking out for Luffy, both escaping the battlefield and recovering on Amazon Lily.
6. Jinbe pulling Luffy out of his despair and reminding him of what he still has to fight for.
7. The mirrored flashback of Ace telling Luffy's crew in Alabasta to look out for him as well.
8. Promising to meet Luffy and his crew on Fishman Island at the end of 2 years.
9. Having a connection and flashback to not only Fisher Tiger, as the other Sun Pirates had, but to Queen Otohime, as the rest of FI had, making him one of the only fishmen with 2 tragedies in his past (not counting Ace and Whitebeard making it 4).
10. Forming a strong connection with not only Luffy from their experiences prior, but to Nami for their mutual connection to Arlong and her abdication of any grudge against fishmen as a whole including Jinbe, and more simply to Franky.
11. The scuffle between Luffy and Jinbe, which allowed for A) Fishman karate to be better explained, B) the comparable power to be shown between the two and how neither outright trumps the other, and C) the hilarious image of Luffy and Jinbe punching each other out with Sanji as the helpless sap between them.
12. The spread at the end of 633, with Jinbe right alongside all the Straw Hats prepped for battle.
13. 634's colorspread with Jinbe noticeably absent from among the other Fishman Island denizens as though being saved for later.
14. The title of 634 itself, "10 vs. 100,000", with the "10" presumably including Jinbe among the 9 Straw Hats.
15. Jinbe's little quirk of wanting to take the time to think up a good operation name.
16. Jinbe leading the role call of the rest of the Straw Hats at the end of 634. -
5. His out-of-the-blue flashbacks to Ace detailing a request to look out for Luffy that could have been made earlier in their cell in real time without much problem, where instead the request was placed in the middle of his looking out for Luffy, both escaping the battlefield and recovering on Amazon Lily.
6. Jinbe pulling Luffy out of his despair and reminding him of what he still has to fight for.I remember the crew wishing to be there for Luffy after finding out that Ace had died. It would be nice if a crew mate had been there all along (Jimbei).

It'd be quite poetic, yes.

Damn, I didn't even think of that. It'd be good for a crew flashback like we got before the timeskip, where the 8 crew members remembered their most emotional moments with Luffy so far.

She was sitting on a building's roof while the marines were turned to children and old men, so it doesn't seem like she needs to touch her target, more likely she uses a beam - similar to Hancock and Foxy.

Yeah, if her hands were that dangerous, she would be wearing gloves most of the time like Kuma/Vander Decken IX.
Left field possible nakama?
Former God of Skypeia, Eneru. He'll return from the Endless Vearth when he sees nothing is there and will return to the Blue sea with nothing to do….

Maybe, or again, she could just have been really fast. IIRC, we only see her up there afterwords, so she might have gone up there to "enjoy the view" and rub it in their faces. Though a beam does sound more likely.

With regard to Jinbei, your opinion is an opinion and my opinion is also an opinion, which happen to agree with 58% of the people who visit this thread as opposed to to 17% minority who agree with you. Like I said, some Jinbei arguments are logical, some are not. You cannot claim that everyone who supports Jinbei has presented a logical argument. That group of individuals as I've said are blinded by their personal emotions toward Jinbei and thus are irrational. Enough said.
Ha, using the poll as if it were actually an inclination of what people think. That thing's been closed for a year, meaning every vote cast in it was before we even knew the timeskip was happening, or at least before we saw what came from the timeskip. Before the TS saying Jinbe was a pretty far off guess since he was outrageously stronger than anyone else on the SHs. Today, not so much. Before you start throwing numbers around, learn some context.
-
Yeah, if her hands were that dangerous, she would be wearing gloves most of the time like Kuma/Vander Decken IX.
Well, I assume she can still control it. It wouldn't be a Midas-like effect where EVERYTHING she touched became old/young.

As long as we're talking about left Field Nakama, I'm still sort of hoping Wiper will some how join. Granted, its about as likely as Eneru joining at this point, but I've always liked his fighting style and use of weapons, along with his spontaneously violent tendencies based on loyalty to his people. But that ship sailed far too long ago.
For another random theory, how about Vivi re-joining, after having eaten a powerful Logia-type Devil's fruit so she's now really kick-ass? Maybe a wind or air-logia or something? Or maybe even a new Mera Mera no mi (Ace's fruit), though that's highly unlikely.

Everyone should join. Even the baddies. Even the fodders. Even us!

and i say to you about perona that she is WEAK. one punch from a fishman and she would be KO'd, so she has to HIDE her body like usopp did, but that is not such an easy thing to accomplish when against 100,000. only takes on person to find your body
and as for hancock, did we not watch the war and see that she did not just petrify the entire battlefield. how come there weren't 100,000's of marines and pirates all petrified? could she not have just done that in an instant? she has no limitations right?

so your saying if she actually didn't hate the government as bad and Luffy wasn't there that she could have beat the entire whitebeard priates and allies like nothing just walking around petrifying everyone?
also your above list of like 15 things is pretty bad, i've seen better arguments from perona supporters. like 90% of your arguments are either irrelivent, wrong, or a giant stretch of what really happened. i'm fine with someone taking lemons and making lemonade, but you can't take one lemon and make lemonade for millions, your not jesus or in this case oda
-

I WANT TO BE A STRAWHAT NAKAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!But seriously, its getting really tedious seeing people countering and defending Jimbe for Nakama argument every week. I wish Oda would just give a panel of Luffy saying "Hey Jimbe, u know what. Why not join our crew. It'll be fun". And Jimbe replying "yeah. Why not". And just get this over with
-
Now, do you care to point out exactly what 90% was so bad about my list
Sent you a PM about the above Shift.
But on the topic of the list - it's functional in the sense that if/when Jinbei joins it will be key events but just like my list of points if Hatchan joins they become indicators as well. But you did acknowledge that anyways so don't fire up too quickly at people not reading what you say.

It's funny because it applies to one third of the crew.

More like 2/3, though Sanji's case is situational.

At Jump Festa. That way it wouldn't only be limited to OP.
Usually I wouldn't care enough about whatever terms Oda uses for new crewmates, but he's been pretty picky with his words for a long time. I wonder why he would bother to separate "tomodachi" and "nakama", or wouldn't describe them as "kyoudai", which could also work…
Edit: Of course, the character song, "Family" sums up their relationship pretty well -- not an actual family, but close enough to be one.
And Jinbe can be the uncle -

I'd get killed on the first day.

I am not trying to start a MASSIVE flame debate… but isn't it possible that Jinbei is done? What I mean by this is that after this arc his people are going to need him and he has been traveling around the world for a long time. He always seems to be against fighting, I wonder if he is tired of the fighting.
-
I really don't see How can a Pirate Call His Captain with the suffix -KUN.

Yeah I believe he stopped after their brief fight. It was cause for some minor excitement amongst the peoples of AP.

Start looking at cover stories. Not only was there definitely something in Fairy Vearth, he definitely has a lot of stuff he could do in the Blue Sea. Like use all his military force and his hax fruit to take over it.
I'm going to be one of those people who will terribly miss the "Luffy-kun" from the anime. I guess all good things can't last forever.

Um … what's on topic ... are people generally giving up on Surume, or is there still hope for it joining the crew?
He's too big, he can't fit through doors.

How can you start a flame debate when most of the last couple of months have been dedicated to people either for or against the idea of Jinbei joining? Personally, I would say yes, he would be done, but there's so many reason for and against him joining that ultimately it will depend on what happens at the end of this arc (which probably won't be ending for at least a few more months). Yes, after this arc, his character will have accomplished a lot of his objectives, but saying that his people will need him also begs the question, "Won't the WG be after him because of him quitting being one of the Shichibukai and his role at Marineford?" They didn't let Crocodile go for losing to Luffy and they didn't let Moria go for losing either. Why would he be different? See? It'll all just depend on how things play out but I think having constructive conversations about him joining are a good thing, not necessarily a prelude to flame wars.

A yes, his all powerful mechanized mole men with taches!
(Don't read much Manga, so it's nice to read he got his new army, even tho he didn't want it and tried to shock them at every opportunity.)
I can see Luffy befriending them if Eneru comes down to the Blue Sea to take it over, much to his disgust.
I'm sure Luffy can get his number, call him once in a while and you can hear it from the den den mushi.

Yeah, I almost forgot myself that I meant those are points people will look back on when they think of how he joined, not that they're reasons in themselves for him to join. I just think there's a lot, and I mean a lot, going for him, especially now, and it's amazing how many people can dismiss it so lightly. But I swear, if I see him do a combo move with someone in this battle, I won't be able to contain myself.

To be fair, some of us voted for Aikanu when he was added as a joke option.

And as I remember, quite a few even provided long AGOG-ish theory of why Akainu is a good candidate

I know that sounds dumb, but looking at things from a design perspective it makes sense.
