Oh yeah, that's been known for a while. Gadot filmed for The Flash and Shazam: Fury of the Gods. Personally, I wish they'd just not include her but I guess she's in too many scenes to cut at this point.

Safran and Gunn said that Gal, Zach, and Jason still have the door open and BB is pretty much confirmed to be placed in the DCU.
The only hiccup is that instead of communicating with Safran and Gunn, Patty tried to go to Warner Films as she usually does for her 1st draft. That was noted as a close example of why the former structure was trash.
It's like a MCU director/write going over Feige's head and over to Disney Film's head. Speaks to how Hamada didn't really have a fixed plan or the creatives would report to him.

I imagine there's going to be a ton of Michael Keaton in this trailer to take the spotlight off of Ezra Miller, so it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. This whole project is just so off-putting, though. Jesus Christ...
-
Didn't even know Michael Keaton was going to be in this movie. Guess DC is cashing in on the multiverse trend too.
-
Well, Flash gives them a way to do it.

I thought that was common knowledge.

Sooooo . . . . Supergirl instead of Superman?
-
I’m considering not going to theaters for this film given Ezra’s questionable activities, but there’s more to the film that them*, and admittedly that trailer looked solid.
-
*Them not him

Crudup been around throughout all the director and writer changes, so I hope Ron does Henry justice. He hung around for so long, I know he will regret not being in this. I don't remember Sofia from Now and Then being announced as Nora. Muschietti seem to have a couple decent shots and casting.
Also, there's no Flashpoint without a slim Superman and I didn't see that coming with the Kara switch. Kinda torn because i'm open to any newer interpretation of Flashpoint, but i've seen too many and i'm fatigued.
-
Going for Kara rather than hiring new Superman (poor Henry . . .) was a clever idea. And I'm always up for Supergirl.
I probably won't go to theaters. But then again, it's Michael Keaton . . .
-
Here's a fun video from Sasha Calle reacting to her first view of her Supergirl:

Already going to Darkseid?
-
Don't tell me they convinced james gun to make justice league 2 sequel, but maybe part of elseworlds gun was talking about.
Or they just doing some darkseid movie to build him for 10 years later when we will get some new justice league.
-
I'm about 99% sure that the announcement is simply for another 'SnyderCon', going by what I've seen stated. Yeah, I know, it's weird to me, too.
In other news, Gunn stated on Twitter that he has officially hired himself to direct the Superman movie he's written.
It looks like Gunn was able to find his 'in' on the movie and why he would even want to direct it, which is always nice to hear.

Yeah, the impact just won't be the same.
But can't blame them for the decision, all things considered.

A little Blue Beetle promo image:

Hoping to give Shazam 2 a shot this weekend. It’s getting mixed reviews, but from what I’ve heard from reviews, it sounds like an easy to digest fun film.
-
I didn’t hate the film, but it was just alright. Don’t think it should be bombing as bad as it is review and box office wise, but first movie’s better and dunno what’s really in the movie that stands out outside of your average superhero film. Wouldn’t recommend but wouldn’t tell people not to see the film. Didn’t spoil the ending but have more thoughts on the movie in spoiler tags.
-
The movie was fine. Not as good as the first, but I still had a good time.
-
Well, second superhero movie in a row released lately where critics were pretty lukewarm, but audiences liked it fine for the most part, if not as much as previous installments.
And that's where I'm at, too. I rewatched the first movie once again before going to see Fury of the Gods, and like most people, I didn't think the sequel was as good as the original (though I did see a few reviews that thought it was better?), but still liked it and enjoyed myself.
I hope we do get a third one, yes. The fact that Gunn and Safran have named Levi's Shazam as one of the actors they plan to keep around along with Gadot's WW and Momoa's Aquaman does seem to indicate that they plan to continue using the character; on the other hand, since there's no Shazam sequel on the books for the first "chapter" of the new continuity, by the time they do make one (if it even happens at all), they'd probably re-cast all the actors who play the kids, since the originals, well, won't be kids anymore. -
I watched the first half of the first Shazam the other night and, damn, I forgot how good the comedy was in that one.
-
Good news for me. It comes out digitally in under 40 days
-
Okay, this actually looks pretty cool
-
Oobari Pose, baby!
-
When DC has fun, it's good DC. George Lopez looks like he's having a ball. "Batman's a facist!"
And an evil Susan Sarandon is not a Susan Sarandon you want to fuck with.
-
@Satsuki Because then you will die a peasants death.
-
I can definitely see Blue Beatle as being the 'rookie' figure in the next Justice League film. I hope they nail the energy and camaraderie!
-
It's not a Marvel/DC trailer without a nerdy breakdown:
Totally missed the "Kord" sign on the building.
-
I still feel like Static Shock would work better as DC's spiderman on the live action big screen.
-
Maybe. But they wanted a bug.
-
I mean we got Spider-Man, Ant-Man & Wasp, and Bumble Bee.
Why not a Beetle
-
Mangold went to Safran and Gunn, spoke it into existence, now he is confirmed to be the director of Swamp Thing. Some months back he tweeted about hoping to do it, then last month he tweeted that he was in communication with them.
This is justice for his Sandman series from 10 years ago.

This tracks. Gunn said that their interest was in simply letting filmmakers make the sort of films they want, after all.
-
Makes it hurt even more when you consider what Ezra Miller's scandals.
-
James Gunn wants Chris Pratt in Superman Legacy, and not for Clark Kent! But for a role I might actually be interested in seeing him do:

So, Stephen King tweeted this.
I got an advance screening of THE FLASH today. As a rule I don't care a lot for superhero movies, but this one is special. It's heartfelt, funny, and eye-popping. I loved it.
Is it possible that this thing will actually be good and its not just desperate studio hype?
-
Stephen King usually isn't one to mince his words.
-
I still think The first Avengers movie is the best superhero movie of all time even 11 years later
Edit: Although I’ve been reading Avengers since elementary school so maybe I’m a bit biased

Hmmmm it might Robby, it might.

78 Superman is still the best one, though it has definitely aged. I'm really, really hoping Gunn can recapture some of that.
After that for me it's Iron Man 1, Avengers 1, and Guardians 2 in the upper tier.
Batman Mask of the Phantasm is up there but that's a little unfair since it has a whole tv show behind it.
And I have a very strong soft spot for the first Ninja Turtles movie.
Robocop isn't on my personal list but its basically a perfect movie for what it was doing.
-
Guess it’s Batman Forever, Spider-Man 2002, TMNT 2, Man Of Steel, & Batman MOTP for me.
I’d include Batman SubZero if not for how egregiously New Adventures of the Dark Knight turned Mr.Freeze into a ginormous asshole for 1 episode (with no further appearances) because Nora remarried & he wound up being reduced to head.
-
Top Tier superhero films for me are Avengers: Infinity Wars, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Guardians 2, The Dark Knight, and Spider-Man 2.
-
Oof, this is so hard to choose. For now I will go with: Avengers, Spiderman-Into the Spider-verse, Iron Man, Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain America: First Avenger. (I'm not ranking them b/c it's too hard to rank)
Special place in my heart for the first Ninja Turtles. It's still the best Ninja Turtles movie so far.
-
5 Infinity War
4 Raimi 2
3 Civil War
2 The Dark Knight
1 V For Vendetta
