Most Disappointing Thing in One Piece

Go back to measuring your boobs.

Nami is a 30G in western standards, but a 65I in Japanese.
What were Robin's measurements again?
most disappointing thing is false advertisement, Oda, for shame

The most disappointed thing must be the death of Ace and Edward Newgate, that's really a big strike to all of the fans !!
-
i dont think thats dissapointing i think it's more like what happend with rodger… inspiering
-
Did people really think Whitebeard was making it out of the war alive? I can understand Ace, but Whitebeard was a pretty obvious death choice.

More like a really big strike through two entries on my checklist of predictions.

why can't everyone live forever in a tensionless wonderland???
-
The most disappointing thing about One Piece is that it is sometimes to compared to horrible series like Bleach and Naruto by Narutards and Bleachtards. Other than that, have no problem with the series. Although I wanted hancock to join the crew

Sometimes tragedy is a important part of a great work, and One piece is that great work!

During the Skypea arc, when Enel was restarting his heart after Wiper used the reject dial on him, everyone just stood around and let him do it. I just kept thinking "Touch him with the sea stone and cut him up!"
Also, Enel not killing anyone. He really sucks at that.
Don Kreig. I liked Baratie and the cooks, but I never liked this villian or the fight. I always zone out when watching or reading this part of the story.
Vivi not joining. I want more girls in the crew!
Pell not dieing. There was such an emotional scene with him flying away with the bomb that is completely ruined by him surviving.
End of Thriller Bark. Seriously, just what the hell? And the fact that Kuma's bomb sucks considering it did not kill anyone or even destroy the island!
-
Fucking Fishman Island!

Hey guyz! Let's judge an ongoing arc that isn't even halfway finished!
That'll be a hoot! -

1. Wiper was completely exhausted, also Enel revived pretty quickly, plus everyone was shocked (no pun intended).
2. The "no killing" policy Oda had almost the entire series should make you expect that.
3. Subjective.
4. Subjective. Seen objectively, Vivi was a character with little room for battle strength development/improvement who already achieved her goal in Alabasta.
5. agree, but see 2.
6. see 2.

Well, Oda actually wrote it realistically that way. Other than Wiper being exhausted, the mere thought of finally having killed the tyrant that suppressed you for many years must be too overwhelming for you to do anything but just stand there. And then that tyrant freakin' revives himself, returning as strong as ever. That must have been both so shocking and overwhelmed that is sort of paralyzed them.
-
Yeah but I always figured that Zoro could have picked up the sea stone and touched Enel and then proceded to chop him up. He did grab the sea stone after Enel revived but I think Enel had shocked him soon after?
-
You guys are disappointed the arc didn't end in such an anticlimactic way? Really?
-
2. The "no killing" policy Oda had almost the entire series should make you expect that.
It's sad that most fans have come to this conclusion pre-Marineford.
Oda never made such a policy. He just doesn't take death in his series lightly. -
He said he didn't like to kill villains because he felt crushing their dreams was a better way to deal with them. I feel like he also said he doesn't like to kill off any character unless it's necessary to further the story, but don't quote me on that
-
Many nameless unknown marines/pirates/soldiers have been killed before, mostly off-screen.
Alabasta and Skypiea for example. -

Why everyone is obsesed with Pell´s no diying? even the newbies like you

Alabasta and Skypiea for example.obviously. But Fodder doesn't really count in this regard
-
I like to think fodder counts when some fans say "OH, NOBODY DIES IN THE SERIES."
We can also include flashback characters and minor characters.
-
It's always funny when people talk about the Alabasta arc as if nobody died. I can think of four. At least be grateful that those guys didn't also survive. Although… I'd have expected Oda to show a panel of their graves since they actually died. Even if they probably got turned into sand from the ground death. Honestly, Pell's survival used to be the worst ever for me too, but now it's more of a mildly irksome thing.

Come to think of it, what WAS the point of those guys? I'm assuming you mean the random guys who drank some poison to get stronger and died when Croc wouldn't fight them.
-
Probably to further show the near-impossibility of hurting Crocodile.
-
Yeah, the policy I was talking about is to only imply death, but never showing it on screen. Two exceptions are flashbacks and the deaths at Marineford which are both mandatory for the storyline. Maybe policy isn't even the right word, sorry.
-
To add to Pell I also dont like how Zoro cant break bars and Dosun can break chains. Oda should have said the bars were made of something extra strong or put Nami instead of Zoro if he wanted to lock them up.
-
Zoro's also chained up in the cage.
-
Thinking about that Zoro situation:
Maybe brute strength is different than cutting something with a sword? Yeah Zoro should have super human strength, but I can't recall a lot of times where Zoro used super human abilities without his swords. If anybody can prove otherwise it'd be appreciated.
-

Does that move that he used without his swords against the Groggy Monsters count?
-

If you want to argue that a move like that should be able to break the chains then sure. I mean, with Zoro's body chained the way it is, I'm still fathoming how a sword can still be useful in that situation anyways.

Yeah he probably wouldn't be able to use that the way he's chained up. Although he was stuck in a chimney and used his flying slash attack thing so maybe he could use that here.
-
Are we forgetting the time when Zoro threw a building at Das Bones in Alabasta?
-
If this was any other manga I would never seriously suggest this, but couldn't he just…you know...put the sword in his mouth?
-
Hey guyz! Let's judge an ongoing arc that isn't even halfway finished!
That'll be a hoot! There's such a thing as a first impression. At this point no matter how superbly awesome the fighting is there will be people who just don't care anymore. For me, Sanji will not be cool even if he pulls of a one hit ko cuz he spent too much time nosebleeding and acting a fool.

They probably meant no one worth mentioning died. Those suicide guys were introduced and died in the same chapter.
-
Dosun has more raw strength than Zoro, but as people have pointed out Zoro does have smaller area to work his magic than Dosun. Thus he cant break the cage because he is chained and he cant break the chains because he is in a cage.
-
The reason Zoro cannot break the chains like dosun is quite simple he cant expand his body like dosun could with the drugs, there is no way dosuns stronger then him.
-
I don't know why you guys are even talking about this. Luffy got tied up with rope by normal fishmen and couldn't get out.
-
I posted this earlier.
When lifting up the building Zoro had his whole body (legs!). It's completely different than being tied up, hands behind his back. The motion required to break out isn't even really bicep-applicable. It'd be more along the lines of a lateral raise. (I don't know about you guys, but I can lift heavier weights with more reps while curling than raising.) And the average fishman is way stronger than the average human. So even these chains are probably proportionally stronger, if meant to hold fishmen. And even if they aren't, people expect those same chains to hold fishmen anyway.
There are also examples of Zoro's technique over brute strength. He was losing to Sham and Buchi until he got 3 swords. There was the time he got stuck in the chimney. Instead of powering his way through it (with a lateral raise motion I might add) he had to have Chopper hand him his sword, just like the situation now.
This isn't the discrepancy people are making it out to be.
-

Couldn't? No, he just didn't feel like bothering. I didn't actually see him trying did you?

I hate the entire davy back fight arc.
