Shanks, Ace & now WB have bet it all on Luffy to become the King. Its up to Luffy to make all of them proud and make sure sum1 like BB does not become PK.
The story is set-up perfectly now. It was a wonderful war from start to finish. A realistic depiction as well. There were no fixed battles. Just as we thought Ace had made it, he dies. Just as the war began with that epic spread of WB in 551, it ends the same way.

Probably nothing, I doubt he actually put the thoughts of him becoming Pirate King into their minds. They probably came up with the idea on their own as a way to repay Whitebeard for taking them in. He doesn't seem the type to lie to his "children" about obtaining something that he could have had a long time ago. Sounds like he gave them all a father to look up to, a family to cherish, and place to call home.

There is no rule, per se, once the RAW has been released. However, in light of recent complaints, and especially out of respect for people who do not read RAWs or even scanlations (Greg), it would be best if you all waited until a full scanlation came out, or even better, until the next chapter comes out. I know, whinewhinewhine, you want to parade Whitebeard's honor, but consider the other members who haven't read this chapter yet but see your signature or avatar in your other posts outside the manga section. You are ruining their experience without giving them a choice.
