Well, part of my idea was that Ace was there to try and redeem himself and his honor by defending it alone. But, unless there's some Marco/Iva Deus Ex Machina coming up, that's obviously not going to happen. I do like the idea of Poseidon being there, though.

Ace didn't hate BB, he had to do his job, which was to punish anyone who kills a crewmate.
Yeah, I did read it actually… He was pretty pissed in the whole WB/Ace flashback Chapter, and Marco and WB even went as far as to say he didn't HAVE to go after him, that WB would overlook it this one time, just for him, but Ace wouldn't have any of that. WB pretty much just let him go because he knew he wouldn't be able to stop him. Even if it wasn't that strong a hate, it was still hate. And even more so hate justified by his morals and his postion.

Yeah I know GL was mentioned too. Thing with Jojo is the way the manga is formatted. Every arc a generation passes with a new protagonist.
I"m talking something ballsy like when L died just for the main character and it still being good like if Kenshin had died fighting Enshi(sp?) but I'm guessing it won't work since the protagonist is such a staple of the manga depending on what kind of manga it is.

They have censored the blood in ID so I think that we won't be seeing Ace lie in a pool of his own blood and with a gaping wound, but just be bruised while he dies.

It should last until our main protagonist gets a sense of confidence and screams out to the world that he is READY!!
If he cannot overtake the emotions that go around him, then it just makes any other fight insignificant and pointless…
Whatever goes on after this will have no meaning because Luffy shouldn't even care anymore.
If Luffy takes over the world after this, it's not good writing... Luffy should be unconscious and until Luffy is up and ready to move forward, makes a decision to not stop his dream and overcomes this horrible incident, then the manga won't show any significant fight.
It's only natural to forget the fights and focus on the emotions... If Oda goes back to the hack and slash stuff, then he'll be no different than Bleach.
That manga has sacrfices and then moves to SUPER FIGHTS right after... It's a joke.
If Oda just continues with this trend, then we can expect a lot of scenes where Oda is basically showing Luffy's CHARACTER and focusing on what he does best; characters.
Sure, he can show WB fight whoever, but it isn't needed anymore... We've got our big picture and everything after will be meaningless... The only thing left is to either expand on Ace or just move Luffy to be knocked out and safe as the plot focuses on the SH crew or something...
It's best to drop it here since there shouldn't be a better sense in the story from here on out.
