Red arrow remains the best character on the show. I'm interested in artemis as well though i want to see what she can do without the bow or i'm gonna be asking myself each episode "why don't they just take her damn bow!?" We saw what speedy could do without it in teen titans so something like that would be fine.
Young Justice RETURSN OMG

Who could be the infiltrator?
After the fiasgo that I went through in Runaways, I'm not taking any chances, everyone is equal suspect!
-
I also wonder who's gonna DIE
-
Who could be the infiltrator?
In the comics
! Superboy turned out to have half Lex Luthor dna and a program in the back of his head that set him evil…
Though that doesn't mean they'll go that route here by any means.
I also wonder who's gonna DIE
I'd guess Aqualad. Robin has to man up and become defacto leader eventually somehow.
Plus, Aqualad is out-awesoming all of them. You can't have a COOL member of the Aqua family. It defies tradition and sense!
-
they wouldn't kill off the black guy would they? and he's been so well received by everyone…
my guess is
! superboy or artemis
! one because it's canon, the other because there isn't any comic backstory -
Artemis WAS in the Young Justice comic. She was just called the much lamer name of "Arrowette".
At least, I assume its the same character…
-
@RobbyBevard:
I need to remember to catch the rerun tomorrow. I keep missing it on Fridays and then forgetting about it entirely.
You can find the episodes on youtube. That's how I've been watching them (because I keep forgetting).

Just watched "The Infiltrator", and while it was a pretty good episode I'm not amused by how they're going to do the whole "you're not who they think you are/ your past is horrifying, dont let them know/ you used to be evil, bla bla" thing with Artemis.
-

Yeah I did too but wikipedia's got nothing about that, just that she's based on an obscure dc character
otherwise I wonder if she's got AIDS

I really like Artemis's. But I totally want a Red Arrow, although Speedy's outfit is pretty cute.

… Ace is Dead Syndrome? A character created to be loved and then killed?
-

Aqualad also made that speech about how Robin was born to be the leader of the group and will grow into that role in time. Aqualad seems a pretty safe bet.

Weisman said that she's not, apparently.

Plus, his sheer badassness and overwhelming awesome, especially coming from a member of the AQUAMAN family, always considered the epitome of uber-lame… I just think it makes him a target.
Though killing Flashes is a bit of a tradition... And I'd be okay with losing Wally for Bart... Cruel, but true.
Weisman said that she's not, apparently.
Well, nevermind then!
Blonde chick shooting arrows on Young Justice, I'd just assumed. I guess that's intentional red herring, what with the whole league of shadows things.
-
Artemis is most likely Artemis Crock, the daughter of Sportsmaster who is also known as Tigress in the comics. And she's probably going to be the dead one.
-
Wasn't there an Amazonian Artemis character as well? The character is too obscure to figure out what she's based on.
-
There's an amazon named artemis too (supposedly)
I'm telling you guys, it's not gonna be Aqualad. Wanna place bets?

Not particularly.
Robin is the only one I really have any faith in being immortal.

Red Arrow dying would be a cop-out.

here's how i see it
! Aqualad can't die because
! -he's black
-he's the face of this new show, saying "we aren't teen titans, we aren't young justice, we're something entirely new". killing him would be killing the spirit.
-he's been so well received he's now cannon in comics
! the only way that he could be killed off is if they had always planned it and are resolute in it and there is absolutely no other way for the story to advance.
! the way i see anybody dying is like this
! Superboy
-they make you think Megan is going to die, but Superboy saves her and ends up being killed (either from a villain or from himself if he goes nutso).
! Artemis
-Terra 2.0 only she was a double agent for the good guys the whole time
-AIDS
! RED HERRING
-a character who has yet to be introduced dies
-one of the main cast dies and my mind is blown. if this happens, my money might be on Megan? because she's going to be the 'heart' of the team (Flash being the funny guy, Robin = leader, Aqulad = the strong right hand man (the 'cyborg' lol)
-a side character (like Black Canary maybe) diesi love this show
-
Personally I wouldn't mind if its Superboy. But I am biased on the account that I think he's lame and I'm already sick of his "angst".
If its Aqualad… I'll be pissed. He's one of the few really likable characters.

How the heck did
! Aqualad get in the comic's so fast? The show's only been out for 2 months!
-
! he made an appearance in Blackest Night (or brightest day or whatevs)

Blackest night is still going on? I thought it ended months ago when everyone turned into the
! white lanterns Also lol at Blaqualad's first appearance being blackest night/brightest day
-
If anyone's going to die I'd place my money on Ollie. The situation just screams "Red Arrow will take his place in the League and as Artemis' teacher."
-
@Yonkou#3:
How the heck did
! Aqualad get in the comic's so fast? The show's only been out for 2 months!
! Well, after Aquaman was resurrected at the end of Blackest Night, his story was told (among others) in the bi-weekly series Brightest Day. Geoff Johns, the head honcho of DC's creative direction these days, is one of the writer, and when he saw Aqualad's concept and design from YJ he really likes him, so he incorporates the design to the comic. I think that's how it goes.
-
Oh so this is after the events of blackest night. Gotcha.
-
This show has nothing to do with BN, it's set in an alternate universe
-
Robin is the only one secured not to die or become bad. I hope they don't kill off aqualad to make Robin the leader. That would be so stupid. I think Robin will already be the leader through by time the person dies. Which will put him in a depression state. The only people they should even think about killing from the team is Supes, Miss M, and Artemis. Everyone else is too badass to die.
-
i think it would be pretty funny if they killed off robin and replaced him with tim drake just to mess with our heads
-
But this show's version of Robin pretty much is Tim Drake in everything but the name.
-

! the only way that he could be killed off is if they had always planned it and are resolute in it and there is absolutely no other way for the story to advance.Aqualad is one of the best things about the show, but here's my take:
! In terms of abilities, Aqualad is outclassed by the rest of the team. Flash is faster, Superboy is stronger, Artemis has better ranged attacks, M'Gann has a whole host of powers he can't match, and Robin is probably better at tactics. In short, he's the expendable one.
! Secondly, he's well-thought of and respected by the other characters from his mentor Aquaman to his teammates. Compared to the rest of the team, there just isn't that much room for growth. Barring being elevated to the actual League, there's not much more Aqualad can accomplish at this level seeing as how he's already the leader of the group. Superboy has Daddy and Rage Issues that can be plot fodder for a long time now if they wish. Flash and Artemis have problems that have to be worked out. Robin is supposed to grow into the team leader role. M'Gann is still learning to be a superhero. Competence isn't really a virtue here because of that.
! Of the lot, his death would probably be the only one that could positively affect the group by forcing them to be introspective and more mature without falling into the angst abyss. Wally dying costs them their comic relief. Artemis is the outsider and her dying won't do all that much. M'Gann dying leads to Wally moping and Superboy sliding back into his angry shell. Superboy or Robin dying would probably have the same effect, but without the leadership vacuum and episode(s) exploring that.
! Finally, the cold calculation of merchandising argues against it. Superboy and Robin are the most high profile characters of the lot and the most marketable.
! Considering the writing staff, we might get a curveball in there, but Aqualad dying makes sense on so many levels from dramatic impact down while the rest, well, just don't.
! After Aqualad, Robin makes the most sense though it's hard to believe simply because characters like that usually have massive character shields. -
I just don't see any need for the leadership vacume since Aqualad has pretty much said he's gonna hand it over to Robin when the time's right.
Storywise, sure his death would have a pretty deep impact, but I don't think it's a good choice for the cartoon as a whole, both from a creator's stand point, and also long term. But we're only 6 or so eps in
how long is this season anyway? 13 eps?
-
-a side character (like Black Canary maybe)
Black Canary is apparently Greg Weisman's favorite DC character EVER.
As a result, we're apparently going to be seeing a lot of her.
She's probably safe.
But yeah, overall I agree with your assessment. No clue what'll happen. I agree with Ubiq's points too. Arrrgh.
i think it would be pretty funny if they killed off robin and replaced him with tim drake just to mess with our heads
Tim Drake is a better Robin anyway.
Dick has to grow up to become Nightwing.
-
^ And the next Batman.
-
i think it would be pretty funny if they killed off robin and replaced him with tim drake just to mess with our heads
At least it wouldn't be Jason Todd.
-

Aqualad dying wouldn't exactly be the right time if he's still leader of the group. As is, Robin would probably go into a funk because of his inability to save him and be hard pressed to herd them rest of them as a working team
Storywise, sure his death would have a pretty deep impact, but I don't think it's a good choice for the cartoon as a whole, both from a creator's stand point, and also long term. But we're only 6 or so eps in
I can see that side as well. The fact that there a lot of things that suggest to me that he'll die makes me suspicious as well though. Weisman likes to mess with the heads of the people watching his shows.

The press release when they announced it said 26 episodes, which is surprising since most of their shows lately have been between ten and twenty per season. God only knows how long it'll take them to show them all; Cartoon Network seems enamored with the idea of miniseasons broken up by several month long hiatuses in a show. SD, Mystery Incorporated hasn't shown a new episode since October while the second season of Batman: TBATB has been on hold in the US since December (two or three new episodes have aired in the UK since then). Generator Rex disappeared for about three months last year despite not even airing half of its episodes before it returned with the rest of Season 1.
It could actually be next summer by the time they air all of the episodes if even then. Well, unless you live outside of the United States, in which case you might see them all by next spring.
-
^ What they're doing to The Brave & The Bold is especially stupid with this season being the final one, if it weren't for the fact I have no computer access until the weekend I'd been downloaded some torrents for the remaining episodes.
-
They still haven't finished out the second season that started in 2009 yet, let alone began the third and final one. Season three is only half as long as the first two, but they might even drag things out until the next series comes along in 2012 or whenever its supposed to start.
-
Yeah, Cartoon Network is weird like that. They sat on the final four episodes of Samurai Jack for like a year and a half, and then just randomly aired them in tandem with the Tartovsky Clone Wars mini-series. Once. And then never again. (Which was a shame, since there were a couple really strong episodes in that batch.)
-
This show has nothing to do with BN, it's set in an alternate universe
I wasn't saying it was. I was saying that Aqualad was introduced in the comic cannon AFTER the events of blackest night, not during.
And regarding the character to die. Seems like Red Arrow is a good choice since the team really seems to still be attached to him and the Artemis polt they have going could draw them even closer, possibly having him even consider joining or join up and then they drop the hammer.
-
It would be a cop out, Aqualad is dying.

I actually thought you were shitting me earlier when you said it was still in it was still on it's second season but having it reconfirmed for I can say anything about CN and their
BS that hasn't already been said in the last few posts. -
There's only two episodes left in the second season that haven't been shown in the US, but they haven't been scheduled yet.
-
I don't know what's worst the fact that there's only two episodes or the fact that in like the last three months CN could've been finished out the season before bringing in Young Justice and new episodes/seasons of the other shows on the Friday block since all we had prior to this were reruns or movies. But then again airing two new episodes on a block where everything after that is nothing but reruns probably wouldn't be a good idea.
-
Cartoon Network has gone pretty much into the crapper, and Adult Swim is not "adult-y" as it used to be. They're not the best at managing good shows.

Adult Swim was never too Adult-y to begin with, with all the edits most shows on the block got/get hit with.
-
It's gonna be Red Arrow just to drive home the point of "we need to be a TEAM and not off doing shit on our own"
-

Not talking about the anime block on Fridays/Saturdays, the Williams Street stuff. You know, Robot Chicken, Metalocalypse, Venture Bros, Moral Orel, etc.
-
I recently ran into this series and damn I'm loving it. To be honest I don't really know much about Joung justice besides the episodes I've already watched so I'm kinda stumped on where the who's gonna die discussion came from. Can someone fill me in?
