I'm not going to get into the argument about BB's level of strength, because neither side wants to budge (I think he's very powerful, but then you have to realize that One Piece doesn't necessarily operate on a traditional organization of strength–but that's not the point of the post) but I think the reasoning for a lot of people suggesting that Black Beard will be something more than a run of the mill arc boss are the strong parallels between him and Luffy. You can get into arguments about strength and fat if you want, but a lot of it has to do with just...a pretty strong feeling. I know that doesn't amount to much of an argument on an internet forum about manga, but it's pretty much what Luffy/BB are all about. Either way I loved this chapter, just the fact that Croc and BB talked to each other had me excited.

Just read the scanlation and I have to say that I think Shiryuu is either on blackbeards team or he just simply wants to see ID be destroyed let blackbeard pass and is doing his own thing. Blackbeard's crew looks like there in big trouble but I betcha DQ is some sort of weird DF user that has an ability of syringes that allows him to create antidotes on the spot (sounds dumb? yes possible? maybe)

BB is like an evil version of Luffy. Maybe even the evil uncle.
I wonder what Crocodile is going to do next. He immediately pegged BB and probably suspects him of getting reinforcements. Its unlikely, but I'd like to see Crocodile turn the stairway and everything leading up to sand, eventually flooding the damn place.

I'm guessing that Magellan is going to use a dangerous poison next week, something that can damage him as well, that's why he said that to Hanybal. He is about to go apeshit crazy in order to stop the breakout at any means necesary, next chapter probably will be just the breakouts trying to scape level 3 before it becomes Poison Hell.
Poor poor Sanji… I hope he recovers fast from his hell...

He's surprised because Luffy bled from a punch. That shouldn't make him bleed, so he was surprised. I'm just repeating this until it sets in.
Now I'm posting something without reading the last few pages–let's see how it goes! Blackbeard's screams of pain are really fakey. Look at his fight with Ace, how he bounces off the wall from a punch by Luffy, and how much he talks while bathing in Magellan's poison.
I think I see what's going on here. Blackbeard's going to keep getting hurt and keep surviving, taking damage, and coming out on top. Eventually we're going to reach the point were we won't be able to tell when Blackbeard is seriously hurt.

I think croc was surprised he made him bleed through blunt damage. croc has his hook. even with the cover on it it would still be sharp.

One amazing chapter. Wonder if Blackbeard is going to suck all the poison and send it back to Magellan. Anyway it would be more awesome if Luffy was stretching when BB grabbed Luffy. Is it me or Croc's face looking cooler then before.

Well someone on NF found something interesting about the Sanji-case…
Guys, look at the DETAILS. It's Sanji, but he's faking it. Why? Well I circled the important details in the drawing that tells us Sanji's faking it or doing it against his own will. Look at the shadows under his hair (he actually finds it gross to be dressed up like this) and the veins popping out of his rightarm, means he hates it. :D
Well I think tha a lot of fans will be pleased that he isn't turned intp a real Okama and that he is faking that. Hoped that he would kick everybodys ass xD
Sadly it seems that ni power up at Okama-Island for now…
But I hope Sanji will escape and search for the others or the cover story will take too long if each SH will get one.

I noticed that Sanji is running toward water. Maybe he will swim the hell out of Okama island xD

Whoo! Loved this chapter. Of course I knew Luffy stood no chance against Blackbeard, but it was cool that he managed to get a few good punches in. He even made him bleed. Also, Crocodile and Blackbeard's dialogue was simply awesome.
I'm really interested to know now what Blackbeard's big plan is that will shake the core of the world. At any rate, it seems like the only reason he wanted to be a Shichibukai was to get close to the WG. This chapter actually clarified quite a few things about Blackbeard.
Oh, and I totally did not guess that the Minotaurus and those Demon Guards would be Zoan users. Quite obvious now actually.

I find the most interesting part is when Magellan looks onto Hannyabal's battered face and says that the latter will be the successor to Impel Down after Magellan is gone. After all this time, Hannyabal is so ambitious and dreaming of taking over Impel Down, wished that Magellan would failed or died, though he cared a little about him, behind the latter's back.
I guess Magellan already knows about Hannyabal's intentions from the very beginning or is he?
Sadi-Chan's bondage is kinda hawt and sexy and I'm quite interested about the 'awakened' Zoan users…..wonder if this will affect Chopper or not or it has something to do with Dr. Vegapunk's methods of experimenting Devil Fruits?

Blackbeard's motive is really intriguing. I think he is looking for Tom to obtain some information about the ancient weapons since he guarantees that One Piece does exist so it seems like he knows alot about it.

Considering that BB's goal is One Piece, and level 6 is full of prisoners who have been deemed to be the most dangerous of all threats to the WG…what if there is someone in level 6 who has information regarding One Piece? No doubt that person will be super strong as well, perhaps that's why BB is there to recruit, not merely to add strong crew members.
Or like other people have suggested, this person could have information regarding a ship or something.
Somehow I doubt someone with information regarding One Piece would be be willing to share the information with BB since the only people who have been to Raftel are Roger's crew, thus only loyal to Roger.

If Blackbeard did recruit those people (and only those people), it would give his crew the same number of people as Luffy's.

Shiryuu is in a pretty bad position. How could he go away? He sure isn't a friend of the Luffy group, so, the ones who probably would take him, are the Blackbeard pirates. I could see him with a plan. He cut every connection to the Marine HQ and the World Government, and he killed everyone who had the slight chance to tell Magellan about his deeds. And Blackbeards rampage was in his favor.
This will probably not happen, but I just can't see Shiryuu leaving Impel Down. Because he still thinks of Impel Down as his property. And maybe he could make the Marines believe that he's in charge again, since Magellan was defeated at some point and Hannyabal was unconscious for a long time.
But that's just wishful thinking. -

Y'know, I'm starting to wonder just how much of an enemy to Luffy Blackbeard really is… Not seeming as much as a saga boss after this. He almost seemed to be helping him. Also, Jesus fuck Blackbeard is weak, defensively. One Jet Pistol and he's down and screaming, bleeding like he's been fighting for chapters…
And I agree with the sentiment that Crocodile and Blackbeard's dialogue was awesome.

Extremly well made and build up chapter. The emotions, the reactions, the zoom out picture everything was drawn extremely well. Then the dialogs which told us some new things, then the events that took place. It leaves you in a suspence with the anticipation but also satisfaction that the development ocured despite in reality only few meters were made you feel like the entire story is going down fast. But not too fast…the timing is great you dont miss out a thing and you dont die of waiting cause somehow the tempo satisfies you...
Looking forward to the next one

s rly developing with the time…but last time he saw luffy was at jaya..mhh so he had their also this tendency..so in the end how much he improved we cant say so far, cause also hancock saw that he has so much potential ,but when even BB respects his advance(and he knows shanks ,WB etc ,so he know big haki-levels) we could assume that luffy`s haki grows well and will soon be in a NW-level..I dont see why, if Chopper was here he could probably have them up and running in no time and Doc Q im sure is like the rest of Blackbeards crew are even better than their SH counterparts at what they do.

t uses any weapons..but back in time where he was by WB, he had to use a weapon ,cause like we heard this chapter from jinbei ,BB was successful in covering his true strenght.. so i believe that he used back than a weapon, cause fighting with bare hands would have shown what an badass he rly is...(not saying that he hadnt shown any strenght..i mean he actually did manage to be in WB-crew..so you can`t be a wussy

read the chapter late, but it was nice. Blackbeard being able to tell that Luffy's "spirit" had grown was interesting. I really liked that Magellan didn't waste anytime, it was just "hey you blackbeard? ye- HYDRA!" I'm sure Blackbeard may just negate the poison since it's "devil fruit" poison. I also liked the fact that Magellan was proud of Hannybal and called him the only worthy successor, gives the two more dimension.

Hello, after a long time :D
Seeing the prisoner names brings an interesting thought to my mind. Let's have a look at the current Blackbeard crew:
1. Teach (Blackbeard) -> Luffy's opponent
2. Lafitte -> Brook's opponent (or Sanji's?)
3. Jesse Burgess -> Franky's opponent
4. Doc Q -> Chopper's opponent
5. Van Auger -> Usopp's opponentInterestingly, there seems to be no opponent for Zoro and Sanji - two of the Monster Trio!
If Shiryuu has joined BB crew like I believe he has, then he will surely be Zoro's opponent.
Now that leaves one opponent for Sanji and one/two for Nami and/or Robin.
Now in the prisoner list we got one male pirate - one Busco Shot, and one female pite -one Catalina. While "Shot" sounds like shooter of some sorts, I speculate that he will join BB's crew and become Sanji's prospective opponent while Catalina wil be Robin/Nami's.
