The movie sounds interesting. I enjoyed all 3, but only the first one was really good.
This one sounds promising. Especially since Mr. Blackbeard is making an appearance.
And, No Maam, I know you ain't hatin' on Depp. He's an awesome actor.
Actualy I was just talking about Depp for the lulz . Not realy a lot against him even if I remember not liiking some of his movies .
Cool. Despite all the complaining I heard about the last 2 movies I thoroughly enjoyed them and can't wait for this one. Though the freaking Rum Diary needs to come out already.
Barbossa and Sparrow need to do a buddy flick together.
Kill yourself now you freaking Narutard.
Jack Sparrow and Barbossa ARE this franchise.
Jack Sparrow is the most epic character in movies ever, just end your waste of oxygen existence.
Calm the fudge down.
No you.
sorry for overreacting
Elizabeth and William aren't in this movie still, right?
right …. xd
right …. xd
Thank God.
(16 characters of less bitching from two annoying people)
Jack Sparrow is the most epic character in movies ever
Sounds like someone hasn't seen very many movies.
Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris should be in this movie. Top Ass Buccaneers for the lulz :ninja:
Harry Callahan, James Bond, and Darth Vader were historically more memorable characters.
However neither James Earl Jones, Sean Connery or Clint Eastwood starred in 2 highly successful, billion dollar movies.
Depps performance in POTC is far beyond any previous incarnation of psychosomatic performance that is perfectly believable while displaying a repudiated interpretation of a pirate persona.
Geoffrey Rush stubbornly did display a classic interpretation of Barbossa as a pirate, however despite this contradiction in characters (Depp and Rush), their chemistry is undeniable.
I would compare Rush's performance of a pirate figure, to Jack Nicholson portraying Joker.
While Depp performed Heath Ledger's interpretation of the same type of character.
Together they raped.
Stop epicly trolling me for voicing my bro love and man crush on Depp, who has to be as psychotic as the characters he portrays because A) he excells at freaks B) he refused Angelina Jolie's sexual advances because he loves his wife.
Cmon… monogamy, in hollywood? How epicly drole and unheard of, this is 2010.
Clint Eastwood and anyone else whose not a born again retard

Fixed that for ya:ninja:

Interesting comparison. Though I've got a simpler one -
Most pirates act drunk. Sparrow acted high.
I like it! So that's why you have those 3 stars and us lowly folkses have none ey!
I'm glad my explanation made sense, I'm obviously exaggerating with my worship of Depp, but saying he's the worse part of the movie is pretty much a fallacy, especially in scenes with Rush.
I know I certainly didn't watch the movie for Knightley's non-existant clevage, and I hope you didn't either; there are far better ways to get your boob fix.
It's going to be pretty hard for Blackbeard to top Davy Jones as a villain. Jones was the end to all pirate lore. That all seafarers are at the mercy to Davy Jones Locker.
As he put it simply "I am the sea."

You're my hero :)
I'll miss Bill Nighy, but Sparrow/Barbossa interaction is too good to miss.

Mermaids = FUCK YES
Zombies = FUCK YE- Wait, haven't we more or less covered the undead by this point?
Official Plot Synopsis:In this action-packed tale of truth, betrayal, youth and demise, Captain Jack Sparrow crosses paths with a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love–or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past. Puppeteer John Chandagnac, bound for Jamaica to recover stolen money from his uncle, becomes Jack Shandy after pirates attack his ship and force him to join their crew. Shandy’s struggle to accept his new life grounds the story for readers, even as Blackbeard and vodun magicians whisk everyone away to dreamlike lands where the Fountain of Youth itself awaits. The chaotic sea battles sing, though at times key events happen so quickly that they get lost in the shuffle as Jack tries to comprehend where he’s going and what’s at stake.
Oh and when I heard Zombies I thought back to stories of Witch doctors in the caribbean turning people into "zombies" to do their work.
I have yet to see 2 and 3
My friends told me I shouldn't bother, though derp
Eh, you should at least see them to see how the story continues, and to a certain degree, ends. Not the best works of film but certainly not the least….
Well, at least the special effects are nice.. right?
Edit: You know what, just watch it because of Depp. There's really no other reason to need to.
I dunno, the first movie had a good closure…
Maybe I don't want that closure ruined
I dunno, I don't know what the hell will be happening in 2 and 3, but it might be something very stupid
If anything 2 is better than 3 and it really picks up on that closure since Jack gets unwilling thrown into a new adventure, and it also gives a little more depth to his character. Plus Davey Jones is introduced and he's an incredible villian.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Bah, whatever, I'l check it out
I really liked part 2 a lot…3 was a little weird and confusing.
Your first look at Cruz and Depp together!
And the ones we really wanted to see, Barbossa and Gibbs back in action!!!
Looks like Barbossa went in a new direction.

Woah, what?
Tell me you're not serious. :wassat:
I thought 2 was better than 3. 3 felt rushed. The ending of either one didn't bother me, though.
I don't care for Davy Jones though.
The main reason I want to see this is because William and Elizabeth are not the stars of the show. Barbosa and Jack having a pirate adventure sounds like a good movie to just sit down and ease the mind with.
UPDATE: First Official Trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides has been released.

Hopefully Blackbeard lives through this one and sticks around for the next PotC movie, kinda like how Davy Jones was an enemy in 2 of the movies. I had actually thought that Blackbeard would look uglier, though.
Looks…interesting. A little dumbed down, and the action didn't look that impressive, but then again it didn't really show much of it, mostly just the story.
Still, the concept looks fun, and I'm glad the story will be a little more straightforward. I'm looking forward to more, though I'm not overly impressed yet.
Looks like win! :D Viscious mermaids ftw <3
Maybe its just me, but I thought Barbossa looked like one of the zombies in some shots xD like, his skin o.O
Ahhhhh, I can't wait for this movie :D
Can't wait. Penelope Cruz looks pretty good.
Ahh Can't wait!!!! Johnny Depp is halarious, and blackbeard looked really bad in his first shot but his later scenes looked more promising.
I'm gonna miss Orlando Bloom though :(
I won't
looks funny at least - I'll waste money at the theaters on that unless other trailers tell me otherwise
Sometimes I wonder if I'm psychic. I was just thinking yesterday "Hm… wonder when we're gonna see more of PotC4..."
The trailer looks pretty neat, but on first impression I must say that I'm kinda disappointed in Blackbeard's look/appearance. I thought that he would be more sinister looking. Guess I'll have to see more trailers when they come out in order to have a definitive answer.
I really liked part 2 a lot…3 was a little weird and confusing.
! the flying dutchman the strongest thing in the sea besides calypso herself was controlled by the marines. The seven pirate lords banned together to fight against the marines or eitc, jack made will stab a heart and won the fight. Thus Will Turner son of boot strap turner became the new captain of the flying dutchman.
What confusing.
Why are people going on "Blackbeard should be more scary looking"? Blackbeard is just a man, just another pirate. He became powerful, not because he's some cursed being with supernatural powers… but because he's a bad fucking guy. Surprised you guys are getting on that when Oda's own design of Blackbeard is so ridiculous.
If he catches his beard on fire, I'll be happy. If he doesn't, I still won't care. I think we have much more to worry about with this film.
Ian McShane is an homage to Blackbeard. I loved this guy as an actor since I've seen him as Al Swearengen in Deadwood. Brilliant actor! I'm very much looking forward to see him as Blackbeard. I just hope this character actually gets some screen time and doesn't enter in the last 45minutes only to be defeated right away. But from the trailer, it looked like they were all going to find the fountain together.
Why the hell is Barbossa a marine now? I thought of all the pirates left him and Jack were going to be free or die fighting for it. Yet, one seems to have been captured and the other seems to have changed sides.
Anyway, the trailer still looks freakin great! I can't wait for that movie!
And who doesn't want to see the mermaids in action? ^^
Looks better than the second and third movies.
Is this a prequel?
Looks better than the second and third movies.
Is this a prequel?
No. It takes place after all of the events from the first three movies. It should be a new trilogy without Will and Elizabeth. Which I'm glad since it felt like their story was concluded in the original trilogy.
Fuck yeah for Blackbeard.
If Blackbeard does not go Zehahahaha, this movie is not worth my time.
looking forward to it

Saw an interview with Geoferry Rush, apparently Barbossa has become a Privateer and like advisor for the King of England.

Well. Didn't see that coming.
I only watched the first one and it was decent.
I heard 3 was aweful and that Johnny Depp was not even in the movie. In other words, he had no purpose at all.
