Chopper and Robin did sing in the Strawhat version of We Are
New One Piece OP Oct. 4 "We Are" BACK!!!
-
-
I was talking about the new opening.(if that was at me)
-
That's why i hope it won't be just another Mugiwara version. Adding one or two voices would barely count as a 'new' We Are.
-
Well, it makes sense. A special We are music. The Thriller Bark is almost over.
! And they are approaching the New World. So technically they are reaching half od the sea. I think after Thriller bark is over we might get some Fillers, in the manga before the new arc started they made an comment about something that didnt happened after Thriller Bark.
-
So I'm guessing we'll have another situation like the 3rd opening, Hikari E?
! In Hikari E, Robin is shown with the crew before she officially joins in the anime. So in the cover of We Are, I'm assuming that they'll have Brooke shown as part of the crew, even though it'll be a few episodes later.

True,
! Robin joining was completely out of the blue, so putting her into the theme before she joined probably threw the anime-only viewers for a loop. (Like it did for me.) At least Brook has already been asked to join the crew, and he's been working with the Strawhats instead of against them. So him being in the opening won't be as big of a shocker.
I can't wait until next week when the mystery is finally revealed!
-
I wounder what Funi is going to do when we get to this point… Are they gonna have some band cover We Are, or just get another voice actor to sing the song instead of the original singer, or just use the same song again.
-
I was just over on the K-F forums and Crossbones brought up a very smart idea: the secret singer could be Hironobu Kageyama. It makes sense. They're doing all kinds of One Piece and DBZ crossover stuff. Or they could have the cast of DBZ sing We Are.
-
So.. no info about who's performing the new 'We are!' yet? :<

I'd quite literally shit my pants.

We're getting closer to the new opening. I can't wait!

Yep, by this time tomorrow it will have aired, which means by like 8:30 in the morning tomorrow, the new opening will be on Youtube.
At least that's around the time, I think Brand New World and Jungle P were put on Youtube after the episode aired. Crazy Rainbow, I don't even remember. I wasn't even watching the anime at that point because the endless clip show filler was too much to take.
-
And so here we sit on the eve of a new opening. Please let it be the antithesis of suck.
-
hmm on 5th of oct that mean episode 373, right?
-
And so here we sit on the eve of a new opening. Please let it be the antithesis of suck.
If it sucks I cry.

The only opening that has ever sucked IMO is Rainbow Star. The rest are golden.
-
Here's hoping for some story relevant stuff, not two and a half minutes of the Straw Hats running all over the place.
-
I just hope that:
- Hironobu Kageyama sings it.
- They actually remake the opening animation, unlike what they did with the We Are! opening sung by the Straw Hats.
-
Let there be SUPERNOVAS
-
-
I agree that the Supernovas should appear

That would be awesome. Having the same "style" as the old one, but with updated animation, with Chopper, Robin, Franky, Brook and the Thousand Sunny, plus showing the Thriller Bark- and Sabaody Archipelago-characters instead of the East Blue-people.
…Yeah, that's totally what they should do.
-
They'll probably still have Luffy running off a cliff and stretching onto the Sunny in the first part of it, along with flashes of all the crew up till Brook.
-
I'm gonna laugh if they get Cho to sing it.
-

I´m pretty sure they´re going to do it for two reasons:
1- They haven´t said anything about a new ending, so we must guess that this new opening will have around 2-2:30 minutes again. The original We Are! had just 1:50 minutes, so they´ll be forced to do new animation.
2- The original animation fitted somehow when they used it in Enies Lobby because they were showing remake episodes. This one will feature new episodes(end of TB, some fillers and Sabaody), so they´ll have to show it somehow. -
is it on youtube yet
-
Here's a Low Quality version
-
What? No Brook in the group except for the end! Lame! Change that when he joins or I'll be really sad. Still, great remix!
-
its loading so damn slow, ive only gotten through about 45 secs of it
but i like it
edit: brook was at 1:35
wats the problem
-
I'm sure we were all expecting something with more grandeur like the parapara mix.
-
And here's a clearer version of (most) of the song.
-
OP not THAT bad…kinda cheezy with the modern pop music twist to it.
Sucks that Brook isn't in it.
Edit => Actually its OPs like this that makes me love One Piece even more.
A back track of the villains, allies and and clips of their nakama-ism.
All thats left is the last crew member(s) and I'll be happy!@!
-
Man, they sucked most of the energy out of the song and replaced it with a half-baked R&B/pop/techno lovechild. It could've been worse, but it could've been a lot better.
I wonder how long this one is going to last. The longest I can imagine this lasting is until the anime gets to chapter 513.
-
Maybe until Brook joins…NAH too short, my gut says 26 eps. New OP when they introduce Boa.
Can't seem to get the song out of my head. If you listen to it over and over again you'll like it a bit more.
Maybe its the LQ, when a HQ version comes out then we'll see if its bad.
-
I thought it was a pretty good cover. It wasn't who I was hoping would sing it but still good.
-
Makes me wonder if they'll do another remake once they get closer to the end.
-
I haven't read through the entire topic, but did anyone expect a 8-bit disco-tech midi remix? I'm just curious. I can't decide if that's a brilliant idea or just the typical japanese 'We're on crack, music is stuck in the 1980's here' thing.
Still not as bad as Believe. runs away
-
The songs fine, but its epic fail for the animation.
-
By the way, is there any info on who sings this new version??
-
Higher Quality vid of opening. It's starting to grow on me.
-
damnit thats just the song
-
-
That has got to be the worst rendition I've ever heard of that song.
-
I really don't see this opening staying long; it wouldn't be the first We Are remake that only stayed temporarily. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but I have a feeling that it's only a temporary and it'll play only as long as…sigh they air fillers.

Crossbones at KF forums uploaded a HQ video of the opening.
I like the singing, not so much the music…at all. -
thank ya kindly
-
Wow, that was pretty bad, I'm definitely skipping part that from now on.
> and I was really looking forward to that too >>
-
Its not that bad! I for one can't get that out of my head.
You know what…wasn't there a techno remix of WE Are sung by a female?
-
I have to agree that it could have been better, although I it's starting to grow on me also. Compared to some other anime songs I've heard, it's catchy, but that's just me.
Adding Vivi and Merry in there at least was a good touch to show they haven't been completely forgotten.
-
Thanks for the link.
It was good, I liked it. I mean, it could have been better, but it has a good, calm feeling. I still prefer the original though. But anyways, I don't think it will last long, since there's nothing in this op about the next saga, and there's no Brook as part of the crew either. We should take this op as a remembrance for 10 years of One Piece, and enjoy "We Are" once more…
