So I am at part three now. Pretty cool. The thing about finding companions along the way is nice, I think its been handled well, but I can't do anything to shake the feeling that all of these dudes are going to die sooner or later. :L
Jotato is a badass. Like, I don't usually like these type of badasses, but Jotaro is pretty cool IMO.

Good night sweet prince. :( -
This is not my first time reading a Manga where the villains are honorable and all, but shit.. SHIT. ACDC, Wham, and Cars are just too much!
Now you see the irony

Now you see the irony
I am not sure I catch your drift :L (You're talking about Cars being an asshole cheater after all or?)
By the way, I am at the wheel of fortune chapters, and these (Old scans) are shit, are there any good ones avilable anywhere? Can anyone help?
-

Yeah,I just found it humorous you included Cars in that list.

When does Part 3 come out? How many episodes?

When does Part 3 come out? How many episodes?
Sometime in Spring 2014. No episode count has been announced yet.
-
But if it's just one part that's like 13 episodes right? Why not mash 2 parts like 1 and 2?
-

I haven't read Stardust Crusaders, but looking at the total chapter count (152), I can't see it fitting in 13 episodes.
-

Well, at the time I wrote the post the chariot race was just starting, soo

I wasn't saying you made a mistake or anything.I just found it funny that you were completely oblivious to what was going to happen.Irony was the wrong word to use I guess.

But Cars had some moments, remember when he did that thing with that puppy/kitten.
That happened. -
And the flower. That was cool.

I guess he respected everything which wasn't considered food for him.

The ultimate being doesn't need food! or sex
He just had it out for humans.

Big Bad Lith was just joking, but uhhmmm, this is an incredibly untrue statement.

JJBA has been a cash cow and a national treasure since way before the anime.

No matter how popular, still improved with the anime a lot
-
No matter how popular, still improved with the anime a lot
Maybe in the west a bit.
But it definitely is not improved in terms of relevancy due to the anime (although it is a pretty great adaption). In fact, the anime was brought about as part of the 25th anniversary of the start of the series, and there've been a ton of different events and promotions that happened due to the 25th anniversary.

Still it's much better, the style of the anime made it more unique

Hahahahaha excuse me?
The anime style made it more unique?
What a joke. That's hilarious.
-
People had this argument on MAL befoore with x5exotic. He seriously believes OP and Jojo ripped off HxH because their anime episodes came out more recently than HxH or so….
"Jojo is less influental than HxH because HxH is much older" and so forth.
-

Even the anime laughs at your lack of insight. Oh you poor unenlightened person…

Yes. I did try to read the manga,
I'm not just "refusing to", I know I'm missing some details, but the style of the anime is what seemed more attractiveThe manga seemed like a bland attempt at OTT
Another cheesy 80s product. -
Yes. I did try to read the manga,

It's about the sheer stupidity behind the comment that the anime made the comic more "UNIQUE". How can you make such a stupid comment without even fully reading it through?
-
-.- i haven't read it fully because the style of it was relatively bland to impress me compared to he anime
That's how.
Paradox much?

So you just looked at the purty pictures and thought "Gee, this looks like a bland rip off. I'm not even going to bother reading any of the dialogue or follow the story." That's certainly a testament to your credibility.
Pfft…
-
Who said anything about ripoff?
Essentially a manga vs anime discussion this turned into, so no matter how, your interpretation makes no senseI read a couple of chapters, didn't enjoy them as much, kept with the anime, that's all.
Credibility? I'm not trying to convince/influence you. I like this, you like that.

Oh, my bad, I guess I assumed that you knew the context behind Part 1's character design and overall aesthetics and presumed it to be a rip off BUT I guess I gave you too much credit.
Oh and I have no beef with the anime. Just your silly statement about the anime making the Jojo franchise more unique which is a remarkably laughable idea. Anyone that ACTUALLY read through the serie COUGH Part 8 especially COUGH knows how utterly absurd your statement is. You sir…make no sense because you make such an silly claim over a franchise you BARELY know about.
-
Well admittedly I don't know about the magnitude of its popularity i just never heard of it frequently before the anime
-

Then it is clear that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Case closed. Go back and read the damn comic, and be enlightened. Because it's actually an amazing read.
-
Maybe if the anime part 3 is so amazing that I can't wait, gladly.
But you're right it was ignorant, but on impulse because the guy told me to get out

It's called sarcasm.

Guys, go easy on the newbie.
If he's just a troll that'll be obvious fast. But if he's just new and doesn't know what's what, then… show whats cool rather than insult.
Oda knows I hate the OP anime and find the manga far superior, but thats because I know the reasons why... which I wouldn't if the anime was my only exposure. (On the other hand the HxH anime is the only good thing going about that series at the moment.)
Heck, I still haven't been able to read Jojo because I just can't get past the art. (Despite everyone saying its great and its longevity.) All I really know is the old anime from like like 15 years ago. Which was awesome.

Has anyone else read Purple Haze Feedback?
-
-
Are there any english versions out?
Yeah, there's a download link for it here.
Honestly, for something not written by Araki it's very good.
-
Has anyone else read Purple Haze Feedback?
I am at around 65% of the LN.
So many Hendrix references, I wish Araki actually made one or two manga volumes of this. -

JoJolion awarded "Manga of the year" at 17th Japan Media Arts Festival
o:
No doubt JoJolion and the series in general deserve the award, but reading the reasoning on that page, it really sounded like they were grazping at straws to try to make it seem like a masterpiece. Revolutionary stand powers and character designs, yes, but revolutionary panel layout? Am I missing something? And they also claimed that Araki incorporating the 311 earthquake was a high minded move to raise awareness even though it was never explored or mentioned after the first chapter. That's just plain wrong
-
I wouldn't call the panel layouts "revolutionary" (which is…kinda a weird thing to say), but Araki does utilize his panels extraordinarily well and should definitely be commended due to the complexity and weirdness of the content. If Jojolion was in the hands of an amateur, it would probably be as incomprehensible as a current Naruto chapter. So it's KINDA hard to say it's revolutionary, but Araki is remarkably talented in making all this weirdness visually comprehensible and somewhat easy to follow due to careful layouts, angles, and overall size of the panels (even though some of it STILL ends up confusing like...freaking Civil War). It's...a tad hard to explain blah..
-
(even though some of it STILL ends up confusing like…freaking Civil War).
How was Civil War confusing?
BTW why did Araki throw in a "sexy panel" with Johnny and Hot Pants while HP is obviously suffocating and it's clear that Johnny and Gyro's lives could be in danger as well. Just makes Johnny look more like a creepy asshole. Unless that was the point.

It wasn't strictly Civil War that was confusing (his stand's powers being rather broad in itself with multiple functions I guess) but the overall scene with Civil War was really hard to follow. The setup was kinda weird, the stuff that happens is kinda weird, Civil War's Stand powers is kinda weird, and the resolution and Civil War's demise is kinda weird as well. It was just overall confusing to follow.

The ending was kind of sudden, but I felt that everything was generally really good and helped to establish the darkness of Johnny's character. I got chills as Gyro was slowly realizing what Johnny was trying to do.
But I voice act my characters, so maybe it seemed more dramatic and heartpounding than normal.
-
Another thing that bugged me about the overall Civil War thing is how remarkably compact it was. It felt as is Araki was trying to squish in too much into the whole Civil War scene. A ton happens (a portion of it being about Johnny's psyche/background or whatever) and it went like a flash. Had to read the segment multiple times to figure it all out due to how seeminly dense the whole thing was.

Do you know what REALLY should have been explained? How Diego was able to turn people into fucking raptor trees and raptor lamps in a fucking instant.
