I'd say Palkia vs Dialga vs Darkrai was one of the Top 3 Pocket Monsters movies along with Myuu and the Hero of the Wave, Lucario and The Wishing Star of Seven Nights - Jirachi.

Myuu?? And yeah the Darkrai movie was pretty good. They could have done more and better with Darkrai though.

I doubt they'd play a large role, although maybe we could see Garp and his group showing up for a decent sized role in the movie.
But even if Shanks and Whitebeard have relatively small roles, it'd still be cool to see them there.
Now a Garp/Luffy teamup for a movie would be amazing! That would be some phenominal stuff…but I still feel very edgy about the whole Shanks and Whitebeard in the preview bit.
As for the comment about "the 10th"...well the OP anime will be hitting ten years in October, '09, so a bit of celebration would be in order.

I liked the unique animation and artstyle Movie 6 used. I hated it at first since it looked too different for my liking. But, once I saw the HK version, it became one of my favorites.
I too, hope that the same guy is behind this new movie. It's good that Oda has more involvement with this movie than he's had in the past. We don't know for sure if he's taking part in actually writing the story or not, though. Before, he'd just do the character designs while the Toei writers did the story. If he is writing it, then that's more reason for me to get excited.

The movie 6 team is animating movie 9, aren't they? Least, it looks like the art style.
Well it's not the same director, Mamoru Hosoda, and he has a small group of Animators and Art Directors that goes with him, so I'd say no.
Would be cool, this movie sounds great, but we'll have to see. After seeing Hosoda's work the number one thought in my mind is "Is Hosoda Directing?!? PLEASE LET HOSODA DIRECT!"

Those don't have plot holes because they aren't canon to begin with. They are just retelling the stories in a different way.

Well there obviously will be, because it has Franky, Robin, and Odz in it..
I like remakes anyway… I really wanted a Sky Piea one. But I'm not really complaining, because if this has Whitebeard and Shanks in it, then it's bound to be good. ;)

Luffy becoming the EIGTH SCHICHIBUKAI?
That would be a hell of a foreshadowing (remember what he said back at Arabasta)
Plus, theorically, Luffy becoming a Schichibukai wouldn't be that crazy because..
A) He could save Ace that way.
B) Schichibukai are still free to aim to such things as becoming the pirate king.
C) Luffy only fights other pirates when he's not harassed by the marines or the World Government.
D) Luffy could have allies like Koby and Aokiji, but I bet he would gain enemies like, let's say, the unknown younkou and other pirates that will call him a government monkey. I also doubt Smoker would be very fond of him.
E) None of the Strawhats are evil in some way. Besides Zoro and Robin, I doubt any of them will refuse to join the WG if they have some really good reasons to do so (Like making the WG to spare Ace's Live).

I don't think Luffy would ever agree to become a Shichibukai. He loves his freedom way too much and has already declared war on the World Government. Plus the World Government has made it clear that exactly 7 Shichibukai is the correct number in order to balance out the Marines and the Four Emperors. I don't think they'll be adding an 8th any time soon.
I do think it'd be interesting (depending on if another Shichibukai is stripped of his title) if the position was offered to Luffy by the World Government and him turning them down.

Well, times change, plus it would be quite smart to offer Luffy the position any time soon before he deals with what's left of the Schichibukai.
Besides, personally, I'm not very fond of the idea of Luffy saving Ace the same way he did with Robin, so that's like the only way I see Luffy could save Ace without rampaging trough Impel Down.

If Toei decides to be evil and do something like they did in movie 8 - like killing off Igaram who was an sort of an important character - and show Garp WITHOUT Coby and Meppo.... It was still a pretty enjoyable movie, over all. Not great, but probably the best of the One Piece movies so far. And the side characters didn't bug me that much.
If this movie could be on the level of Dead End Adventure, I'd be happy.

I personally think Shuraya's brother/sister from movie 4 is the most annoying, unbearable kid Toei ever created in One Piece. By far.
And the fact they actually got more screentime than the crew - except Luffy - always bugged me.

Shuraiya was designed by Oda and beat the tar out of a bunch of guys with a shovel. He's officially awesome.

Bah, I still say M4 was chockfull of side characters that did absolutely nothing to advance the story. The two giants, the giant fishman, Needles or whatever his name was, the little kid.

I really don't see where all the Dead End Race Adventure comes from. It wasn't that great and certainly not to be compared to Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island.
It started out fine, lots of cool character design and such. But it stopped focusing on the race and didn't go deep enough into the already introduced characters. Plus the kid and grandfather just seemed randomly thrown in there. Not to mention the whole

The reason I didn't get into Movie 4 as much as other fans was because they didn't do enough with the race aspect. I mean it was great premise that I think has potential as actual Oda-created manga canon arc material, but it quickly just became "One Piece in a nutshell". Still a good movie and one of the best in the series. I personally enjoyed number 2 more and 6 is my favorite.
