It's official now, Marathon Tokyo postpone to 2022! We have big chance to get Episode 1000 on Nov 14th.
According to the TV Schedules, still there is break on Oct 17th, which means Episode 1000 will be on Nov 21 (more official confirmation on begging of Oct).

Is there any hint of a new opening coming? There's usually one around once a year, though sometimes it takes longer. I just remember, most recently, OP 22 dropped in July 2019 and OP 23 in August 2020. We're now at the end of September 2021, so wondering if there's even a mention or hint of it.

Unfortunately older Japanese companies are rather notorious for slacking on cybersecurity and digital preservation and redundancy (see: Square-Enix managing to completely lose source codes for their old games over the years) and Toei having a well-established digital pipeline would make them extra-vulnerable to something like this if they've been slacking in those areas.
A couple weeks' delay until the start of the spring season was what I was expecting, best case scenario. Back in December the company that handles my workplace's timekeeping data got hit by a cyberattack and it took about five weeks for everything to get sorted out and back to normal. I hope that's just the TV station considering the rest of the current season a wash and deciding to restart things with a clean slate next month and not them hedging their bets while the situation turns out to be even worse than reported…
Deeply unfortunate. At least I still have the new OST release to look forward to.

During the break Fuji TV has been airing Onigashima reruns in One Piece's time slot, starting from around 1004 or 1005 I think it was. Next week they're apparently jumping forward to 1013, so hopefully, hopefully the anime will be airing normally again starting on the 15/16th.
