I think the way the "disintegration" works is if you get your shadow back before your whole body disappears, you'll return to normal.
This'll keep Oda from having to kill anyone again, haha.

Anyone notice Moria's Tiny Legs just before he barfs up the last of the shadows? That's a good clue that he's really gonna be this normal-sized guy.
oh man.. I cannot WAIT until next week for the next chapter XD I can't WAIT for the color spread.. and.. after the color spread does that mean they'll start a new cover story???? xD Weee I sure hope so, but if not I don't care, I just cannot WAIT to see what happens after thriller bark XD
And what i cannot wait is for everyone's reaction to chibbi Luffy …
@HTC:

You, sir, are a chapter too late. Better to hope for Chibi Moria.
@dirt:
It says, "Annihilation …!?"
Ah. thanks.
this makes me think they'll be a final piece of the fight next chapter? the "annihilation" seems to be in regard to everyone catching on fire as the sun's ray start to hit them.
wonder if there'll be a few more exchanges between moria and luffy before the true end of the battle :)
Damn, beautiful chapter. Next week must come already. >:C
Battle Franky, thanks so much once again for getting this thing so early.
Awesome, Moria's down.
Now, for all us Brook fans, we get to find out next week… :D
God I sure loved black square attack XD Lovely! Thanks!!
I didn't understand how the tower fell on Moria ? Is it because of the fight, or someone else made it fall ? (Kuma ? ;-) )
If that's the case, I'm expecting (wishing even) Nami to create some fog or clouds to cover the crew until then. And if that doesn't happen, I'd be surprised if Sanji didn't do something chivalrous to block Robin from the sun (for instance, covering her face with his jacket or standing in front of her.
I'm hoping that Brooke'll do something XD He saw a person (probably his friend) burning before, maybe he doesn't want to loose his new friends on the same way :sad:
But Sanji trying to protect Robin sounds good! :D

Moria smashed the ground nearby earlier, that had made it unstable around the base, and I guess with all the fighting it eventually tipped over completely, at just the right moment.

This is just my take on the whole "maybe Nami will fog up the place/someone should do something to protect the shadowless", but I think Oda doesn't want to "ruin" the moment he has set with the crew just standing there and waiting for Luffy to restore their shadows (with complete (seemingly) confidence in him) by having someone go and pull a Plot Plot no Mi fruit out of their arse.
Nami could do that though (don't see why not…), but I guess Oda doesn't want to go that route...
Wow,cool chapter!Thx Battle Franky-sama!
"Gomu Gomu no Gigant JET Shell" FTW!
It looks like a giant super fast cannon ball shot attack.

You have a point there. Agreed, this would ruin the moment!
haha from the spoiler pics I thought that Luffy blasted a hole through Moria's stomach. Now I see that the "hole" was just Luffy in his balloon form.
I loved how the building fell on Moria, he was trying so hard to not let the shadows go.
Great Chapter!

It started already last chapter when Moria split the ground in half. The only reason why the mast didn´t immediately fall back then was probably because of the large chains that still maintain some sort of balance. But due to the fighting (and probably because there´s huge wind power taken by the sails) it had to fall at some point.
@Battle:
beggars can't be choosers…deal with it.
They could put their damn logo in the corner or something INSTEAD OF IN MY WAY.
Seriously, I have no idea what the hell is happening on page 13 because of it.
I'm grateful for the chapter, but find a new place for your damn ad.
I'm done.
thanks BF gonna give it a quick lookie.
Nami wasn't seen in this entire chapter, so she is definitely up to something

They obviously don't want their scans being re-used elsewhere (Seems like Chinese OP fandoms are fiercely protective like that) so that's why drop them smack down in the middle.
While mildy irritating, honestly I don't find them THAT intrusive & it hasn't impacted kudou's translation much, and seeing as Kylara will put her RAW up later, I'm not really sympathetic to those who are annoyed. -_-;
I don't mind with the logo, but really the spread in pages 13-14 got a bit messed up with that.
Anyway, that was a good chapter. I'm kind of sad that Moria's fight didn't last so long, but he sure made a lot of trouble to the Straw Hats.
Ridiculous chapters all around in Jump this week.
Man…I love manga.
Kinda hard to tell what's going on with the watermark, but thanks for the chapter. So in the end, Moria, who had stayed calm and cool was reduced to losing it and going mad with his new power.
And did I see Zoro catching on fire at the end of the chapter?
Is itjust me or is the pic on page 14 (the top left side) someone new (probably its Kaito)? btw, its the 3rd post in here (thats a lot easier to do
Great, great chapter.
I feel little sorry to Moria. Poor guy…
Good fighting, Moria's and Luffy's attacks were cool.
Good job, Oda.

Um, all I'm seeing is Moria covering his mouth, trying keep the shadows in.
Thanks much for the chapter BF. Wow, I just don't know where to begin with this chapter, it was so epic I'm shocked. If there is a break next week I will freak.
Thanks for the chapter, even if its got that watermark and lower quality.
Wow…when Luffy is angry, he'll do anything, even against a bastard like Moria! Watching him use a Gear 2/3 combo was just amazing and making Moria barf up all those shadows and getting crushed by the main tower of his ship hurt. Oh...and Lola is probably one of the most gallsy female characters in this series.
The Strawhats are bursting into flames! =O
Nami wasn't seen in this entire chapter, so she is definitely up to something
Quite possibly. Where are usopp and franky and chopper? maybe i missed them… maybe they're all up to something :)

Usopp and Franky are there. I think I saw Chopper in some panel.
Actually, you can faintly see Nami behind Zoro on the 4th page. Though I would assume that she might make a raincloud or something.
Well, okay, I reeeeally did miss many chapters, but do I see Kalifa there??
@Battle:
Doesn't really suit his style.
Not if you consider that Moria thinks that being humiliated in the New World is worst than death.
Just read kudou's translation. Thanks kudou.
Seems Moria has given up. His end speech about the SHs seeing the true "nightmare" in the "new world" is a definite indication of him throwing in the towel. I thought he'd have one more attempt to finish luffy off before completely submitting.
So, predictions for next chapter. Zoro, Sanji, Robin (and Laura) start to disappear because their shadows are taking too long to get to them. just when it's too late, the shadows re-attach and they are safe. This will be because Moria will make one last attempt. He's just gotta. Chapter will probably end with everyone starting to celebrate and Kuma will show up. DON!
Kuma might just turn out to be another Ao Kiji.
Well, okay, I reeeeally did miss many chapters, but do I see Kalifa there??
No,it's Robin.I know,she looks like Califa in the last page when her head is burning,right?:happy:
I'm hoping that Brooke'll do something XD He saw a person (probably his friend) burning before, maybe he doesn't want to loose his new friends on the same way :sad:
Now that Brook has his shadow back, he'll be able to move about – but I'm not sure what he could do -- he's a bit thin to cover someone by standing in front of them. Though I suppose the shadow of his afro would be big enough to shade someone if they hid behind that!

While I agree with you about the crew having so much faith in Luffy that they'd rather disintegrate than help each other, we've also seen plenty of examples of the opposite recently: of them helping each other. To be fair, most of the helping scenes took place when Luffy wasn't around to do the deed for them, but I don't think it's completely outrageous to assume that Nami or Usopp would want to intervene to save their crewmates – even if Sanji, Zoro and Robin thought otherwise. So it's not quite the "plot plot no mi" that you're suggesting -- or to me at least -- but feel free to disagree.
Plot plot no mi, to me, would be something like Kuma stepping in and shielding them from the sun, then rattling Moria until he barfs up every last shadow.
Although, in light of my recent abysmal prediction-success rate, that's probably exactly what will happen ...
And did I see Zoro catching on fire at the end of the chapter?
Yep. And Robin and Sanji too. We can't tell how bad it is though, because the wind has blown the smoke over their faces … probably not a very pleasant smell. Lola doesn't have much damage though, and she's been "on fire" for a few minutes now, so it's not reason to be alarmed yet.
[and as always, thanks to the crew who bring us the scans and trans!]
Am I the first on to notice that Cibi Luffy is on page 18 ?
Am I the first on to notice that Cibi Luffy is on page 18 ?
I didn't notice it until after reading the translation. He apparantly mixed Gears 2 and 3 to fight Moria.
I like the fact that the combining gears aren't without a cost. Luffy's body can only barely manage it. I dont think we will see this again any time soon.
Something tells me he'll be laying off of the Gears for a while after this.
Although with Jinbei running around on the next island maybe that won't come true. Then again, I sort of want Jinbei to be a nice guy, and hopefully as awesome as Tom was.
I really hope Fishman Island isn't the mega epic 2 years long Water 7-like saga everybody thought it'd be, and that Jinbei will be nowhere to be seen.
Who'd have thought that Thriller Bark, that was supposed to be a fun mini arc like Davy Back Fight would end up being 4 volumes and a half long, with two Shichibukai appearing? Not to mention fighting two Shichibukai in a row feels a bit too much.
I hope Oda keeps on surprising us for the next arc. Plus I fucking hate fishmen.
Great chapter, the tower falling on Moria was insane. I'm kinda sad that he's out now though. I wonder if Kuma will do something next.
Well, now that Thriller Bark is almost over, I'm hoping Fishman Island will be good, and I'm really hoping that Jinbei will be as awesome as the other Shachibookies and not a repeat of Arlong.
@Mr.:

Me too. I don't want that Jimbei reveals to be an uber re-make of Arlong.

I have nothing against Fishmen, but I share some of your sentiments regarding another shichibukai battle following TB. I've always thought and hoped Jinbei would be a glorified Arlong, and that we'd just get to see him and he wouldn't have any strong baring on the SHs plot.
I also hope that the SHs (luffy y zoro) don't have to fight all the shichibukai, and that apart from zoro's fight w/ mihawk, luffy will fight perhaps one other shichibukai, and that be BB. That's my hope for now.
Didn't notice Chibi-Luffy. Just looked it up, and there he is laying on the floor in chibi form.

But what about Donflamingo and his plan to destroy The Age of Dreams?
Who'd have thought that Thriller Bark, that was supposed to be a fun mini arc like Davy Back Fight would end up being 4 volumes and a half long, with two Shichibukai appearing? Not to mention fighting two Shichibukai in a row feels a bit too much.
While TB exceeds the other mini arcs by the sole number of chapters (Drum=25;Jaya=19;LL=19;TB=41) it still counts as a short arc in comparison to the large ones. The pacing is quicker then in Arabasta, Skypiea or W7/EL aswell as it almost over while the big arcs by far didn´t reach their climax up to that point.
Also the appearance of big players is nothing new for short arcs. In Drum we learned of the Blackbeard Pirates and Ace was introduced as a mysterious figure. At the end of Longring Longland Aokiji appeared and the amount of big player appearences in Jaya (Sengoku,Tsuru, Gorosei, Doflamingo, Kuma, Whitebeard, Lafitte, Auger, Burgess, Q) is yet not rivaled by any other arc. I know that you surely mean that Kuma is right now on Thriller Bark while the ones I´ve listed either didn´t meet the Strawhats or had not much to do with them. But it´s actually not about the direct confrontation with the protagonists but rather then making a presence for the reader. And even though I´m sure Kuma will appear before the Strawhats, it IMO will just be an opener for something later on instead of a showdown with a definite end for Kuma.
So yeah, in the end Thriller Bark is the longest short arc so far. Seeing it that W7/EL is longer then the other two aswell as Oda misjudging his own thoughts about how OP will last, an explenation might be that the more time passes the more Oda wants to include into the story what makes it stretch by the amount of chapters.
But that doesn´t necessarily mean that Fishman Island will definitely be a mega arc. But personally I´d be surprised if something that´s been hyped since before the Arlong arc will be done on the fly. Just my impression.
But what about Donflamingo and his plan to destroy The Age of Dreams?
Doflamingo does not plan to destroy the age of dreams. That was Bellamy´s interpretation of things and we´ve seen how far it brought him. All that Doflamingo promotes is a New Era.
I see… but still, does Donflamingo look like that will be a baring in some future arc?
Moria's speech to Luffy about how he's not ready for what's in the New World reminded me of what Crocodile told Luffy about losing sight of his dreams the further he goes in the Grand Line. I wonder if that was intentional?
