Smokers Super Team!

FYI I have NOT seen a thread for this yet! SOOOOO

I predict Smoker will get his own arc in the new world! And I think he will be the main baddy in the arc! Smoker said he was going to gather a super team to take down the straw hats next time they met! This thread is for super team predictions???? I for one couldn't even imagine the awsomeness of this team Smoker will build up, but by far Smoker is one of the two people Luffy could never defeat and I believe they WILL fight sooner or later due to Zoro having to take down his girly assistent some day!

I believe this will be the best arc ever!

I basically agree with everyone else, but being a rogue and all, I think Smoker might pick up some mercenaries along the way, too. I imagine he also has a few favors he can call in somewhere in the marines.

Luffy told him that he'll have to be an admiral to catch him and if he does that then he'll have a higher rank than Smoker.

so maybe Hina, Tashigi for course, and a bunch of marines that we've never heard of yet.

That sounds to me like he's going for a promotion so he can move about more freely.

Edit: Though it's also possible that he plans to bring someone higher-ranked over to his side.

I think Captain T-Bone managed to rescue himself AND Nero to an island. At least I hope to see T-Bone again in the next cover story, he was unbeatable.

Smoker… As far as we now, he wasn't that impressed by Dragon's appearance, and we know, that (with his logia) he is a very strong fighter.

I think, if he builds up a team, he knows some strong charackters, we haven't seen until now.
Of course, Tashigi, Fullbody and Jango (and Hina) might be in his team, but there will be some more.

However, they will be crushed by BB, before they reach Mugiwaras

Smoker not impressed by Dragon? He practically shat himself when he first saw the guy come to Luffy's rescue. Sure he recovered quickly, but the thought of pirates and revolutionaries working together clearly bothers him.

As for Super Team Members…Coby and Helmeppo might work under him for awhile, but that would likely depend on what sanctions are placed on Garp for failing to kill the Strawhats at Water Seven. They could remain under Garp's command, or they could get transferred. Since Ao Kiji also did nothing to stop Luffy at Water Seven, he probably wouldn't be of much help in organizing a crack commando unit for Smoker; Akainu might prove more useful in this respect.

you guys are only listing random names of marines that you like, using whichever reasoning. Isn't it more likely that his team will be mad of entirely new people, he may have handpicked to go for specified Straw Hats weaknesses, that are from all over the marines/world, that we just don't know about?

And anyway, wasn't Elric's post proof enough that he wasn't talking about a team, but rank, or extended jurisdiction?

If he's going to continue chasing Luffy into the New World, as a Naval Captain he'll want to ascend the ranks to extend his jurisdiction.

If it's a team of folks only in the Navy/Marines, I guarantee that he'll ask Hina to join him, as well as Shuu. Tashigi, Fullbody, and Django will be along for the ride, but unless they've become considerably stronger in the past few months of the story, they won't be part of the team per se.

Otherwise we'll get introduced to new characters.

I'm not sure, as I understand it translating the ranks properly can be very confusing and different places translate them slightly differently, so…

I do think Smoker was given a promotion though.

I GET IT now! T-Bone will be the Man who will marry Lola. Together, they are going to perfect the Swordmanship techniques of T-Bone for him to be strong enough to face Zoro or even become a Vice-Admiral in the future.

Anyways, besides T-Bone, Hina is a must for the future.

Her Battle with Robin would be like the greatest duel of One Piece, besides a Crapload of Bondage for the fans.

True that we never saw him die but we clearly saw him getting raped by Zoro in no time.

Additional to that Smoker didn´t even try to capture Dragon after the Strawhats escaped. He just asked him why he´s helping the Strawhats. There was not even the slightest attempt of "you´re under arrest" in that scene. And the shock from when he first saw Dragon was gone by then already.

And on topic, Hina sailing under Smokers flag would work fine. She has more potential then the regular captain and having too many different groups among the Marine chasing the Strawhats would be overkill at the end. So sticking some of them together would work perfectly and Hina and Smoker at least are connected unlike Coby and Aokiji for instance. That is of course Smoker really aims for more powerful reinforcements. So far his statement clearly indicates for me that he seeks a position that gives him more freedom to move like he wants. Just look at how much freedom Kuzan has with his rank. Something like that would definitely be of Smokers interest in his quest to chase after Luffy.

Well, I bet that if she gets smashed down by Giant Pistol, then she's pretty much done for, so I think the trick for Hina is to knock her out with something bigger than her body.

My bad. I confused it with Sanjis fight (where i think he was only tricked). Zoro did beat T-bone in an instant and he fell off the track. But his men (that was seen rowing for their life to catch up with him a few panels later) probably saved his life.

I'd still wait to see Admrial Akainu and Admiral Kizaru. Once they are debut in the modern (non flashback) One Piece, hopefully theyll contribute something to the possible SH defeat.

Also I can't believe that nobody added in Aokiji to Smoker's Super team. He's the coolest (pun intended) marine to date. He may just be an observer in the grand schemes though, remains to be seen just what roll he'll play later on.

No, it wouldn't make sense. First off, there was Smoker's note to Aokiji which he thought was incredibly stupid or something to that extent.

And second.. Aokiji doesn't really seem to have a burning desire to stop Luffy. He seems interested in seeing what they are going to do, possibly only confronting them if he deems them a serious threat - not just because Smoker wants to stop them.
