@city_lights31:
Why did Buggy need a map on how to get to the Grand Line in the first place?
We know he knows you enter into Grand Line through the Reverse Mountain but he still needs a map and a compass to get there. You can't sail without them.

@KiShiDo:
It's more of an question for CCC, Aohige and Co… I know years back it was already discussed but I can't find it anymore
I'm speaking about the Ace/Smoker "fight" and the translation of it with either the one of Ace saying "He is superiour" or like in the anime "we will cancel each other out" stuff.
Stephen's old site is taken down, but as far as I remember it was Ace and his fire were superiour... But which was the correct one?
And even if not, it would be a bit strange that a NW pirate and 2nd commander of the WBs wouldn't be able to fight a pre TS Smoker, even if he managed to fight Jinbe for 5 days as rookie before... Would be like saying he can't beat Caribou
From the general haki discussion
@Aohige_AP:
Not true.
The Japanese line says "おれとお前の能力じゃ勝負はつかねェよ"
There's no way that can be translated in favor of Ace, he's not saying Smoke can't defeat him.
It's saying neither of them can defeat either.
It should say "You may be smoke, but I'm fire. With our abilities against each other, this fight wouldn't end"
If stephen indeed did translate that line, I think that's one of very rare mistake of his.
I think stephen confused that line with "勝負にならねェよ", which is very similar, but insinuate that Smoker can't defeat him, not both way around.
Again, if Ace could use haki, he wouldn't be saying this solely based on their abilities (unless he just wanted to convice Smoker to retreat, of course).
