2 complete different characters that have nothing in common.

Might as well say Sengoku and Garp will be alive when One Piece ends since Oda doesn't like killing off characters.

Then why Arlong is alive? Why Enel is alive? Both of them have none of plot relevance at this point, because one is in prison, if I recall correctly, and the other is on the freaking moon.

Crocodile HAD no story relevance after Alabasta. We didn't saw him again until several years later, during Impel Down. You have no way of telling if Oda hasn't planned anything like that for Doffy, you know? He isn't going to die.

What are you on about? You mean that Oda will start killing characters left and right, I'd love If Oda decides to take this route in the New World because it is supposed to be a living hell but I for one don't think he will take it but you never know since he's been kicking people mind this entire arc but you can expect some meaningful dead on the story.

well the main problem about doflamingo is that he has connesion over the whole world. if he survives the arc he will easly stand up again using his warlord/tenryubito/broker/pirate influence. if doflamingo survive he'll be an even bigger problem again. he's kind of character which need to get out of the plot or he'll be an eternal obstacle. imagining scenarios, an only dethronized dofla is pretty the same as if not, a dofla in a prison will get out using his former tenryubito influence. so or you cut all of his connession (no government, no underworld, no kingdom, no crew, nothing) or kill him.

I think he'll end up in prison. Fujitora won't let him rise back to prominence once he finds out what Doflamingo's been doing to the citizens of Dressrosa and how he's been supplying other pirates, especially Kaido. Once there's solid proof of that there's no reason he wouldn't be arrested and imprisoned.

Well he probably won't die with this being One Piece and all, so yeah. His noble relatives probably just cut all the ties with him once they find out what he's been doing, if only to save face.

Not sure if this has been discussed or if this is the right place to discuss. But since Doflamingo is a Shichibukai I figured this was the spot.

What do y'all think some more puns for Doflamingo's String Devil Fruit abilities will be? Or those without puns as well.

So what about(this is from google since I'm sure I might get some of them wrong):
Daito: long sword. He can make a CoA String Long Sword.
Taito: the appearance of a dragon in flight. Some String Dragon that he manipulates as a puppeteer. Momo will see it in the sky.
Yumiya: bow and arrow. Harden the bow made of strings then shoot multiple hardened string arrows into the sky.
???: lasso rope. Perhaps have some moves similar to Paulie.
Tako: kite. Some move that allows him to hover to slow down.

I don't think anyone really thinks Morgan is related to the 7th shichibukai in any way.

Muchi means whip so…muchito perhaps for string whip?
Maybe look at words in English with suffix 'ite'. Not a lot of useful words though. Picked out some.

Tamaito? That's a weird name, the name was written in kanji meaning, katakana spelling convention just like another attacks right? I think Oda intended to spell out "Termite" (Termite eggs does like small bullets)

Why make a sword if it does not cut? A good chunk of Doflamingo's attacks cut through objects so I'm sure if he had an attack called Daito, pun meaning string long sword, then it will be like a real sword.

One of Oda strength is that he can do epic for shadowing of a character's power ( yonko, admirals, Dragon …) but as well bring a monster out of nowhere (Lucci, Ener, Magellan ...). So I will say it could happen.

PS: I use "..." when I have no more exemple in mind!

Oda wouldn't hype up and obscure the Yonko for so so long if they weren't the ultimate opponents Luffy will have to face.

Entire sagas are being set up around beating just one of these guys.

There's not going to be anyone stronger.

for us the power of yonkou is devided by 2 :

strenght of the captain and the strenght of the crew

the second one is what makes the yonkou more difficult to take him down

if you remember what Law said in 699 or 698 about yonkou having a thousands of followers .. so a small crew like strawhats

won't be enough to "smell" the captain < take for ex Kaido all the 30 % of law's plan all this troubles in Dressrosa

Mihawk on the other is just a captain of himself .. no crew no nothing .. just one boat moving under the mouvements of winds

hindsight is a wonderful thing, at the time Teach appointment as a Shichibukai was seen as a great thing.

However, it was not only BB to create major problems.
Crocodile if you put your hands on Pluton could do worse.
Doflamingo proved 10 times more dangerous the same Crocodile.

Others, like Law and Moria, the Shichibukai are in waiting, as they prepare to hit hard the government when they least expect it, and then return to point to the title of King of the Pirates.

The government or closes the Shichibukai or would do better to select its members a little better.

i understand your point of view. After all… just because someone is strong, doesn't mean they want to have that role or lifestyle in the pirating world. I think gold roger and luffys concept of just being free, makes it clear that their are other ideals followed by people in the pirating world.

I actually wonder what the point of calling yourself a warlord or yonkou is, if it only makes you a target, or forces you into some role or image. What's wrong with just wanting to be free to do as you wish, and not have any name attached to you.

That's still four more than zero. Besides a lot of the benefits of the Shichibukai go unseen. They're chosen for their power and reputation in part because the WG hopes that will make them look stronger and thus discourage dissent from pirates. Just because you don't really get to see that working doesn't mean it's not. In the four blues and paradise the WG is a genuinely feared/respected institution and most small-time pirates would rather run away than confront them, and the big names of the Shichibukai contribute to that.

Yonkous have underlines and don't put the name on themselves. Shichibukai don't get a rest with marines and can screw around. None make themselves target.

Why there are still Shichibukai? I suppose the WG is so devoted to balance that they rather be optimistic about their new Shichibukai members.

I still think that you guys are overhyping Yonkous way too much. Mostly because if they are so beyond anything else, then after Luffy defeats his first Yonkou, anything else becomes entirely meaningless. For example, the moment he beats Kaido, only Big Mom, Shanks and Blackbeard are left as proper rivals. It kills any sense of danger in the story, because, for example, I won't believe that anybody except for Yonkou is a threat to him. It would be like following adventures of Whitebeard in his prime. Kinda boring, because we know how it will end.

That assumes that he'll solo his first Yonkou, and that this will take place without Luffy having any advantages specific to that fight. Plus, he's still an idiot most of the time - we've seen how hard it can be to overcome some of the strange paramecia powers, so he might still have trouble with those, and he might still have trouble fighting a couple top commanders of a Yonkou (or an admiral or two, or multiple slightly-weaker foes) even after he can solo a Yonkou. Especially when there's an unfavorable match up in terms of powers.
