Shanks' confirmed age is 37.
-
You just lost 50 cool points.
an 18yr old American who thinks he knows the definition of cool:shocked:
but on a more serious note it was a joke, a very unfunny one at that….lol
I still find it hard to imagine shanks being 37ish, he looks so young....
-
Appearance should rarely, if ever, be a factor when attempting to figure out someone's age in a comic book.
-
1. Kuma because of his devil fruit powers and design.
2. Crocodile because of his plan to take over Alabasta and his "fight" with Luffy.
3. Doflamingo because of his character and his views on dreams. After seeing most of the Shichibukai so far in action in the manga, my views on which my favorites have changed. So, update:
1. Doflamingo: He's my favorite now, because of design, and his character. Can't wait to see what he does in the war.
2. Crocodile: Second favorite and like him because of the way he acts, and like his devil fruit powers.
3. Jinbei: Third favorite and like him because of his character, and like what he did in Chapter 547 with
! calling the whale sharks and saving Luffy and others.
4. Boa Hancock: Fourth favorite and like her because of her devil fruit powers and character.
-
I'd say The Great One (commonly known as Crocodile), but he's not a Warlord anymore. With him gone, I can't choose just one! Okay, I can choose the one I don't like; Hancock. Thus far, I'm pretty indifferent to Jimbei. He's impressively powerful and all, but outside of that, not a ton of interesting stuff to him. He has potential for awesome though.
The rest, though, are all awesome! Kuma is immensely badass, intriguing in his motives, has a great design, and a creative-as-shit power. Moria's design is great in how unconventional it is, his power is creative and has loads of potential, his personality is interesting, as was his motives. Doflamingo not only has a perfectly evil power, but more and more shows bits and pieces of his immense potential to even be a Crocodile-level antagonist (in terms of scale), plus his "businessman" approach to evil and piracy is interesting as all hell. Blackbeard, while kinda ho-hum to me at first, keeps getting more and more interesting, entertaining, and unique as he keeps appearing. And don't get me started on Mihawk's unbridled badassery and style. Oh, and how he's one of the most powerful people in the One Piece world on pure skill alone.
-
I can't decide. @___@ Crocodile would be my first choice, but he was revoked of his title. Jimbie, Hawkeye, and Doflamingo are all so awesome too. Plus Blackbeard, he's just so confusing but amazing. And Kuma with his mysteriousness. Guyaaaah, this is too hard.
-
Kuma, Moria and Blackbeard :3
-
Mihawk, Kuma and Blackbeard in that order.
-
Mihawk and Crocodile.
-
HUH.

and I have never herd shichibukai, ._.
And this thread is from 2005…Ummm...huh.
I dont know what it is :')

Probably Moria. Interesting character all the way in design and personality. Great power, I really liked his nakama as well, even though two of them disappointed in their fights and let us not forget the sheer toughness and tenacity of this man. He took a nightmare version of the move that decimated both Crocodile and Lucci to his face and still got up afterwards grinning like a mad man.
He was also a rival for the Pirate King title, something we haven't seen for a while.
Thus far the only people who seeked the title that I can remember were:
Luffy
Buggy(kinda, before moving on to Captain John)
Don Krieg
Crocodile(long since abandoned this dream however)
Moria
Oz(whom is really just Luffy's shadow, so does this even count?)
Whitebeard(or at least Ace wants to make him it)
For a manga where the main goal is to obtain the One Piece, there are few pirates with such high ambitions. Moria is such a man.I wonder if Moria is a vision of what Luffy may end up like if he can't protect his nakama in the new world…
-
Mihawk is definitely my favourite….. Nobody has an idea how powerful. All we know is that he is equal in skills compared to Shank, one of the emperor of the seas. Also, everyone is in awe of him. If he is the strongest swordman in the world, just imagine other powerful guys like shirryu from impel down who is as powerful as megallan is not even the best. Other shichibukai like jimbei and crocodile run away from megallan.
-
This is a tough one!
I like Croc, BB, Kuma and Jinbei. I guess I'll choose Croc.
-
goooooooo jimbei its the boss
i like him its so strong
and fast
its the king of the sea he can control the sea
mybe he have haki
ilove you nami so much
you the sexy girl in the world:wub: i wana fu** you

What the hell…was that? xD
First I thought you had the hots for Jimbei...But then came the part with Nami...:blink:On topic: Crocodile all the way. Even though he's not officialy Shichibukai material anymore. :(
-
ahhh
donqiouxte doflamingo, the guys name is easier to type then to say, plus he is SOOO pimp!
crocodile, PIMP(again!).
gecko moria, i love his name xD
kuma, his just…awesome..
mihawk, so cool!
-sigh-
black beard too, the guy seems to have depth or something, lol get it? depth? his devil fruit powers? xD ah? ah? i dont get it either
wow so i basically just mentioned every shichibukai, boas awesome too, strangely enough, while every bodys loving jimbei, his just sitting at a "okay" for me :/ -
I would say Mihawk since i think his overall design and fighting style is coolest but Boa Hancock has also impressed me much, but then again, there is Crocodile … such a tough decision !!:unsure::unsure:
-
Croc. A true pimp, badass and he has a cool DF. I've always liked him. When he was defeated I was actually a little ''sad'' since I wanted him to be a longer time. I was very happy when he reappeared.
Mihawk is also my fav. He's a true badass and is the goal of my fav. SH

For me it's a tie between Jimbei and Hancock.
Crocodile's too much of a bastard for my tastes even if he is a spectacular villain, Mihawk and Kuma lack too much personality, Moria's too annoying, Do Flamingo's an ass and Blackbeard's too much of a fatass. I guess it's because I'm mroe of a goody-twoshoe liker.

Are you implying that Jimbei is not also pleasently plump?
Although I gotta admit, there is something about Jimbei that sets him apart from the others…besides the obvious species difference, I mean.
-
I gotta admit I'm tied for Mihawk, Jimbei and Hancock. Mihawk the cool spanish swordsman looking guy who pwn zoro, then with Jimbei he's one of the cool fishmen and is currently a possible candidate for the Straw hats and with Hancock is cuz she's really cute and is currently one of my favorite characters in the show despite the hatred with her and some of the fans of One Piece….

Fatass in the his fat really imposes on you sense. He scorffs down food like no tomorrow:/
What I love about Jimbei and Hancock is that they're totally the opposite of what I'd expect them to be especially Jimbei. Hancock turned from some bitchy princess into a tragic, emotionally fragile character. Jimbei is honorable and just which is really awesome since I thought he'd be just some plain thuggish racist fishman instead of the cool guy he is. Who'd have thought after being mentioned 10 years ago, he'd end up being a cool guy helping Luffy and being a nice guiy in general?

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Moria's my fav, he has a cool laugh.

Forgive me, but Hancock is still a bitch. She fell in love with Luffy after one of the most random plot twists in the story but she still treats everybody else like crap.

Is it because…...She beautiful?
-
Is it because…...She beautiful?
Haha…yeah, basically that sums it up.
"I am beautiful, so everybody should kneel before me and do what I want" - that's her character, right there.
-

I know, isn't that great? She's bipolar, it's hilarious.

Well if you're gonna generalize, "I'm a Cyborg with no personality", that's Kuma's character right there.
-
@Thousand:

Not really…bipolar characters have mood swings. Hancock has only one mood towards anyone but Luffy and her sisters: bitchy...and towards Luffy it's only one mood as well:lovey-dovey.
In any case, I don't like bipolar characters either.

"Yeah, I have no personality, but I was impressed by the loyalty the Strawhat crew showed for each other and decided to disregard orders completely and spare them and later I decided to go against the marines and save them for my own reasons. I also have some connection to Dragon. I'm supposed to be the shichibukai most loyal to the government, but still, I tend to oppose it. Yet, I have no personality, I am terribly one-dimensional"
-
of course the handsome mafia mastermind with the hook…
-
My favs are a tie between Crocodile and Kuma, with Moria in for a close second. I also think that I may be one of the few people who really couldn't give too much of a crap about Mihawk. Hancock's the only shichibukai that I actively dislike.
Hancock: I'm a victim.
Me: Still a bitch (as someone posted eariler). I mean, she's like Nami, except she just stays bad (hated her at first, but I warmed up to her after the Krieg and Arlong storyline). -
probably chrocodile. I love some fishmen, but Jimbei somehow seems to weak minded to level up with tom or arlong
-
My favorites are a tie between Jimbei and Kuma, but it's hard to forget Moria with his awesome shoes XD! Kuma may have an under-developed personality now, but you kinda get the feeling he's not against the SH, plus he has a cool hat. btw dislike Hancock and don't care about Mihawk either.

I just reread the amazon lily arc and have some ideas about hancock.
I see, generally spoken, a problem with the current shichi development. 2 of the 8 are beaten, 2 (BB and mihawk) are reserved for the end of OP and from the remaining 4 only doflamingo seems to be another villain/opponent in a future arc. While kuma may be a part of a revolutionary arc and jimbei in a fishman island arc, which role could hancock play in the future?
On a second thought, the main reason for a lot of hancock hate/ dislike seems to be her love sickness with luffy, a plot development that is way too forced and unnecessary.
But noone seems to ask the logical questions from here on: Does luffy love her too? No. Does luffy recognize at all, what love mean? Does he know, what hancock want from him? I think, the answer is also no. And if oda decide to introduce some romance in one piece, whom would luffy select? Someone like hancock or someone cheerfull and careless like say camie or margaret? And would hancock be satisfied with his friendship alone? I think no.
So in the end that could easily culminate in an unreturned love theme, a broken heart and finally hate against luffy and all the sh pirates, especially if he choose to travel on with his crew instead of living with her.
This seems to be the logical conclusion. So the much hated love sickness with luffy would make sense plotwise, she could show her powers against someone who isnt affected with her beauty, we have another hostil shichi for a mid-new-world-arc/subarc, some sort of haki-training and another opponent who isnt a pure villain or plain evil. (like maggelan, hannyabal, or kizaru/aokiji in comparison to akainu)
I just wondered why noone have ever speculated in this direction and contrary to a lot of indications everyone have accepted hancocks friendly relationship with luffy for all eternity.

I did. It's in the New Crewmate Disscussion though. I'll go find it.

im sorry but Sir Pimp was just the best….
i know thats entirely groundless but i just think that it's completely right ^_^
-
there's no women that hate Mr. Pimp you know…his speeches and acts make them going crazy over him...even Alvida love him with unlogical reason.

Now that the latest chapter is out I think it's ok to revive this thread.
We saw new moves of Moria (that guy still has it)
and a new one of DoFlamingo, which made quite obvious how his power works.
Seeing what he's able to do, it's quite clear how he must have earned his massive bounty and turns him into one of the scariest shichibukai for me.But it brought up a new question:
What the hell is up with Boa Hancock's Devil fruit? It was all easy and fine.
Get into the Mero Mero Beam, get petrified.
Stay outside of it, you're fine.
All under the condition that you have a "sinful" heart of course. But know we get to see her partially petrify pirates with a touch
(note that those guys were in the heat of the battle and probably didn't even give attention to her beauty).
And even inanimate objects, like swords and cannon-balls, got pertrified.
I'm of the opinion that this concept of wicked thoughts turning you to stone is not what's really up to it.
Your thoughts? -
maybe they only petrifiy for a few seconds then, and she has to break it before they normalize
-
The mero mero beam was the hax move that every shichibukai have that just doesn't work on the top players (along with shadow removal on broad day, paw paw 3 days flying thing or Croc right hand) Now the arrows just petrify part of your boddy and you could just avoid them so even if they work without lust its ok for me
Note: Dunno if she can petrify let's say a ships or land (The swords and cannon balls count the sae as clothes maybe)

Wow June '09. Way to assume discussions didn't go down about shit that happened long before you joined just cause you couldn't find it.
-

Idk she was petrifying pirates with kicks too.
-
Her arrows petrified the objects, not her kicks. If you look carefully at the picture, you would see that her arrows struck and stuck onto the cannonball and together they turned stone. With that, we can conclude that she can't possibly stone the whole island.
And I don't think the stoning part is a temporary process. Her previous mero mero beam didn't stone her opponents for a temporary period so why should this attack stone her opponents for a temporary period?
But I'm sure we haven't seen the extent of her power yet.
Flamingo was damn impressive in that chapter.

The arrows didn't hit everything, the guy who said, "You're the pirate emperess." Didn't get stoned till she kicked him. Both the arrows and kicks could petrify.
-
Oh, true. That's puzzling.
-
Oh, true. That's puzzling.
That scene just showed that Hancock is good at range (mero beam, slave arrow) and at melee she has petrifying kicks so she's good at melee too.
