Yeah that was it.

@Cyan:
Yeah that was it.
Glitches are features too!
And so are monstrocity makeovers.
@Cyan:
Yeah that was it.
Sonic Boom was a major success. Everyone loved it
“Speed is always a Sonic thing, we didn’t focus on that.”
Yeah I had fun speeding through the water sections of Aquatic Ruins Zone and Hydrocity Zone and ignoring all those air bubbles designed to keep me from drowning….....oh wait no I didn't.
Wow. Every single one of those bulletin points is wrong, pretty much. And this is even the hindsight lesson learned version!
"Sonic going fast" isn't the problem or why audiences are bored by the idea. "Sonic constantly going fast down a hallway with bad controls and basically autoplaying" is what audiences are bored by.
Cripes guys, you made the transition to 3D 17 years ago and you STILL haven't figured it out? Hell, Sonic Adventure almost had it right the first time in theory, it had wide open expansive areas to run around in.
Even the original games weren't "go fast" all the time… and were in fact pretty slow in a lot of areas. The fast bits were just the first couple stages usually.
I hate to pull out Okami as the example AGAIN, but that had huge open areas, platforming, and allowed you to get all kinds of crazy speed built up... and that was 10 years ago!
Either just make a solid 2D platformer (and if indie developers can do it with 1-3 people like Freedom Planet or Shovel Knight, a real company can) or actually listen to what everyone is saying and actually rework from scratch.... OR, take the elements people actually like from Colors or Lost World, and build on them instead of reinventing the wheel every time and just get a good solid annual game out.
I can't even make it past the first point without laughing incredulously
Being humble or just denial (then reluctant admittance) of the truth?

Well, people liked Generations so maybe not :P
- Claims multiple times that Boom (franchise) is a big success.
- Admits Boom (franchise) could have been better.

The game was critically panned, and had probably the lowest sales in franchise history (factoring in both the WiiU & 3DS games) by Sega's own numbers.
Either he was talking a about the TV show (which would still be a whose success would still be a stretch) or someone's been putting too much fiber in his diet.
OR, take the elements people actually like from Colors or Lost World,
People actually liked Lost World despite knocking it for being a Galaxy rip-off?
I think the Galaxy planetoid levels thing is the only good way to translate Sonic's gameplay into 3D. That we've seen at least.
Granted Lost World was pretty shitty but Sonic Team should work on perfecting that stuff in a sequel without unnecessary 2d levels or gimmick levels.
Eggman being bad ass was the best part of lost world. And the free dlc
The other bosses were probably the worst I've ever seen in a video game, no hyperbole. Fucking cringeworthy
Give us Generations gameplay and level design, Tails and Knuckles as playable, and youve got a sequel that solves like 99 percent of your problems Sega.
I wish They make a enhanced edition of Sonic Generations for PS4/Xbone
*Bring the 3DS Levels and Bosses over
*Touch up the graphics abit
*Fix any noticeable glitches
*add a few new levels and bosses
The new levels being:
Final Rush
Final Fortress
Flying Battery
New Bosses:
Mephiles
Egg Golem
Mecha Sonic(using the master emerald as a power source)
Just do a Sonic Generations stle remake of the original four games. Same gameplay and levels, just modern graphics. Mario All-Stars style.
Everyone wins.
(Possibly put Spin Dash in Sonic 1 since most ports over the last 20 years have allowed that)
Also Sonic CD… with easier timetraveling mechanics but thats more optional.

Time traveling wasn't too problematic Metal Sonic boss battle…..bad bad memories.

So basically:
sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic 3 & knuckles
Sonic CD (has both American and Japanese soundtrack)
With Ps4/xbone modern graphics and Modern remix music
sega should do this!
I agree
I feel like just remaking the "good" games is admitting the series is over.
I feel like just remaking the "good" games is admitting the series is over.
Worse. They can have some people leave Sonic Team, make a smaller team and create a Kickstarter to a "spiritual succesor".
I feel like just remaking the "good" games is admitting the series is over.
The "golden days" of the series have been long over since the end of the Dreamcast Era. Then we got a slew of "okay" games in the PS2/Gamecube era, and then everything got pretty horrible with the occasional "gem" in the mix (Generations, and I think Colors is apparently good?).
As for this remaster, I'd buy it in a heartbeat (barring Sonic Boom level glitches).
It wasn't admitted defeat when Nintendo made Mario All-Stars.
It was going "Hey, these are among the greatest games ever made, lets bring them back up to par with modern visuals and not change a single thing about the gameplay… even leaving the glitches in."
And that was 22 years ago when Mario (and Sonic) was at its prime.
Pretty much Robby Sega remaking the original games wouldn't be an admittance of things being dire…....eventhough the difference between what Nintendo did with All-Stars is that Mario was in a much better position when Nintendo put out SMA-S. Nintendo also hadn't yet whored out the original Mario games by rereleasing them every few years for no discernible reason.
Ken Penders, ladies and gentlemen.

Purposely posting it now so as to not be confused with April Fools.
What…the hell am I looking at?
Why none other than Ken Penders, the man who was pretty much head editor and writer of the Archie Sonic comic for years, who later sued the company in order to keep his echidna fetish fanfiction characters as his own personal property which then forced the comic to go through a reboot to do away with all his continuity and characters from the last 10 years!!
And that's what he's done with it since!
That sounds pathetic.
It looks so creepy
Can we ban him from Photoshop ?
That's Ken Penders ALL OVER, "writing" and "art"
I especially like how he has done absolutely nothing to the characters to make them distinct from their Sonic origins… except make them hideous to look at.
Oh my dog! Humanly proportioned woman Knuckles is awful enough but gadzooks those wigs!
I legit liked Lara-su, she was really good for Knux in the comics and I miss that she isn't in it anymore.
Penders has seriously dug a tunnel to go even lower than he already was…god...
Right, controversial opinion time;
My favourite Sonic game is Sonic 06.
Now BEFORE you all jump down my throat, hear me out - under NO circumstances am I trying to say its NOT a terrible, poorly-designed and glitchy game. Denying that would be downright stupid. And I agree, it's a terrible game.
That being said, I actually had a lot of fun with it.
It was the first game I ever got for my 360, so it felt kinda special to play a "next-gen" game for the first time. Also, I had absolutely NO IDEA that the game had been panned so badly when I bought it, so I was just playing it thinking it was a new Sonic game and I like Sonic games. Sure, Sonic ran way too slow and that ANNOYING ball puzzle in Silver's Dusty Desert stage made me rage like a bastard, but I played it quite a lot. I even had a little routine I'd do when I was bored and re-play levels with headphones connected to my TV and blast rock music from the console full-blast while going for the best time and score.
I don't expect anyone to share my opinion on this cause I know now how bad the game itself is, though I would like to point out that a game can be the worst game in the world but you can still have fun with it. How much fun you have with a game isn't down to how good or bad it is, its down to the player.
Another reason I probably enjoyed it more was because I've always preferred the 3D Sonic games to the 2D ones. The first Sonic game I ever owned was Heroes, and the only 2D ones I was really able to get into were the Rush titles.
Anyway, that's my views on the franchise. They should make more 3D games (GOOD 3D games, that is).
I kinda wish they make a sequel or a 3DS enhanced remake of Sonic Battle
It was fun taking the skills and colors of certain sonic characters and mixing them into Emerl
Plus I am sure after near 12 years, they could make a good sequel or enhanced remake.
The Sonic Facebook page just posted this. I really want it as a full sized poster!
Web Spider and Soldier Stonekong are the most random characters there.
I…think that's a suped-up Cubot underneath Ken's leg fighting Omega and Viewtiful Silvia.
Nah that's Duff McWhalen from Megaman X5.
Ah thanks. As much as I dislike that they re-named the bosses for X5, Duff McWhalen is SO PERFECT of a pun, I can almost forgive it!

Apparently the story is that the husband of MMX5's translator was a huge GnR fan and asked her to give them those names. Heck, let's not even get into how all the Koopa Kids are named after musicians.
Localization is funny.
Amy crushing poor Ice Man's crotch.
Where is Knuckles?..couldn't find him…
Huh, you're right, I don't see him either. Really glad to see the Archie -centric characters get to participate this time.
Maybe they couldn't decide between Knuckles and Roided Knuckles.
Maybe they couldn't decide between Knuckles and Roided Knuckles.
Or maybe he's busying finding pieces of the shattered master emeralds.
First issue of "World's Unite" came out in Sonic Universe 76 and I gotta say…i am off-put by the art. I wanna say that it is a style so they can incorporate all the different Capcom characters that are gonna show up, but it just felt a little jarring jumping from issue 75 to this one.
Sonic Boom: fire and ice for 3ds announced. A new sonic boom game. Wat.
I guess there's a large enough amount of people that keep buying Sonic that they can still keep releasing these.
