Agreed! Since Soge and Usopp are supposed to be two different people (in spite of the fact that nearly everyone is wise to the truth), it wouldn't make sense for Usopp to use kabuto now – while he's in "Usopp-mode".

It would make about as much sense as Usopp using climatact or rumbleballs to fight the zombies!

Behold! Usopp is the only one who can protect Nami and Chopper now! Looks like Usopp is the only one who can keep the armies of zombies at bay for the moment. I didn't add Franky because he isn't with them at this moment. Dr. Hogback might teach Chopper some crucial stuff like how to make Choppers rumble last longer or tap into new modes. OR he might just try to disect him and the others to make an ultimate monster or something.

Now I have a terrible image in my head of Usopp vs. Hildon…

Agreed! Since Soge and Usopp are supposed to be two different people (in spite of the fact that nearly everyone is wise to the truth), it wouldn't make sense for Usopp to use kabuto now – while he's in "Usopp-mode".

Well, Usopp did already admit to being Sogeking…. I was kind of hoping to see him use Kabuto for that reason, because I think it would look neat. Then again, Nami still carries around her old stick as well. Maybe Kabuto is just for special occasions. (Like parties)

I do not know what's weirder..the monsters in the chapter or the ones in the sidestory XD
Maybe Luffy will fight Hildon…who knows?

I'm more curious about who's going to fight hogback. Chopper's flashback shows him with two scalpels. Would this put him in the "bladed" category, and thus Zoro's domain?

But if zoro's fighting the doc, who would luffy fight? Could there be another boss for this arc besides Hogback? Chopper did bring up the possibility that Hogback had been kidnapped.

Of course, my ideal would be to have brooke, nami, usopp and tony tony save the day on Thriller and return to the sunny-go as conquering heroes.

Unfortunately, no one would believe Usopp's rendition of the encounter.

I'm just fascinated that the zombies can speak.

After reading the spoiler, I thought this chapter was going to be good but not that good. But I was wrong. The art is wonderful. It's really great, and that's saying something since usually I find the first few chapters of each arc to be a bit ugly.

If you think about it, chopping up Buggy and sewing his parts to stuff really won't work because of his DF. So if his gang were on the island, witch I doubt, he would probably just be locked up somewhere.

You seem to forget that half his body was gone for a time simply because Nami tied it up and tossed it somewhere. If Buggy had individual parts taken and sewn on different animals, he'd be pretty much screwed.

It was last year since I've last posted but I've been constantly lurking.

Here's a theory of mine on why the creatures look freaky:
Dr. Hogback was working for the government as a first rate doctor. One day while he was conducting some researches, he stumble upon an island that was affected by a plague. The people(and animals as well) got a disease that is impossible to cure. The government was unwilling to support him so he worked alone. He cured the people but the side effects are the stitches.

It seems Hildon is based on ES21's Hiruma, check the thread for a comparing picture.

The doggy rider looks weird. I think it won't fight [get betrayed by Hogback or something].
And we have a little doggy on the ship too!
Like, ChoppUsoNami & Brooke do all the job, returning to the ship realizing they got an invisible pet.
Chopper talks to it, and to make us sad it leaves the next arc. Like the bird from Jaya.

I can say Chopper fights Hildon, Brooke fight Hogback [or the opposite for the two], but that's it. Usopp isn't the type to fight badass guys and neither is Nami. Usopp can fight the doggy rider I guess, but the other one is definitely not Nami's type.
We still have that cerberus though… Maybe he'll help them!

Latest chapter was boring. The typical moaning zombies (which are fast, to add a change… but not an exciting one), the likes of Nami, Usopp and Chopper being scared as usual, over "illusions" (c'mon Oda, you can do better). It was like something I DIDN'T want out of Thriller Bark (Park, or... whatever). It's like every other horror film... Oda's disappointed me so far. The whole chapter was boring...

Hoping for better next week.

I don't see almost anything in your post that resembles the chapter, really. Did you read the translation? I'm sure you'd like the chapter better if you looked into it.
For example, no typical zombies. They helped each other, they were shit scared from fire, they were super fast with no stamina, and that's unique. All of it. It's not in any horror movie really, right?
The illusion joke too. Oda has this thing of doing old jokes, but then advancing them. That's where you laugh, or at least most of us do [where they shouted for really seeing somebody].

~Throes: Oh, you should. Most jokes are understood that way, and an excellent scanlation is out already.
