Chapter 498 "The 11 Supernova" Discussion
-
-
Well, in Stephen's script Shakky told Luffy and Co. that Rayleigh was 100 times tougher than all of them, so perhaps what she meant is that, since Rayleigh has more experience and actually managed to stay in the New World for a while without dying, he's smart enough to survive in the streets of Shabondy.
That or it could be one of those odd sayings like that time WB told Shanks he was 100 years too early to order him around.
-
@Fire Fist:
Completely unnecessary.
If you find correcting people who speak inaccuracies or theories as blatant facts is unnecessary then sure^^
-
This has most likely been specualted a thousand times already since last week, but Rayleigh and Shacky were probably once a part of Roger's crew. It'd be about time we actually meet someone who was IN his crew rather than people who knew him like Gan Fall and Kokoro. Plus Shacky did say something to Luffy about being on the run from Garp a lot when she was a pirate and we all ready know Garp chased Roger's crew to hell and back.
Edit: Wait, the 40 years thing may kill this theory, unless Roger and crew were conquering the Grand Line for 18+ years.
-
Most things about Roger are an unknown so its not impossible that he was a pirate for several years before his death. I don't think it's likely that Rayleigh and Shacky were part of his crew though.
-
Still sticking to the theory that Zeff, Dr. Kureha, Bellmere, and Zoro's master were part of Roger's crew.
-
Boney is gonna be a pig zoan!!!
I called it here, first:P

Shanks and Buggy doesn't count?

Shakky was obviously part of the crew that killed Brooks and his crew 50 years ago. Brooks just doesnt remember her because he went insane after being all alone in the fog for so long….
-
Koshirou?Nah.Kureha I could well believe,but Zeff I think is just a strong guy.Bellemere was a marine .

One Piece isn't THAT far-fetched.
-
@AWB:
One Piece isn't THAT far-fetched.
There's a talking starfish that talks because it thought it was a person, and a guy who built an entire canal inside a whale. Cmon, now.
-
Let me rephrase what I said, One Piece isn't THAT far-fetched AND obvious at the same time.
-
@Mad:

Belle-mère was a Marine and both Zoro's sensei and Kurena hate pirates.
And by the sounds of it, Shakky was a pirate independent from Roger if she was pirating around fifty or so years ago. And if you want people who've met Roger, as Gorlom pointed out, we've got plenty, as well as major characters who we know very little about who were big Roger-time characters, like Garp and Sengoku.
-
and both Zoro's sensei and Kurena hate pirates.
Wonder why that is?
-
Because they slaughter and pillage, often?
-
Was it ever said that he "hated" pirates? All I remember is that he wished Zoro all the best, even if he chose to be a pirate.
-
No, he doesn't. Kureha doesn't either.
-
He'd said that he doesn't support any of his students becoming pirates and Kureha was pretty turned off of Luffy and Co's business, as did the rest of the village.
-
Doesn't mean they hate them. Zoro's master wants his students to be respected by society but he's not against Zoro choosing to be a pirate and Kureha to me didn't seem to have a real problem with pirates.
-
Hey, I forgot if anyone mentioned this but…what about Buggy?!
He must be following the Strawhats, and assuming that he's reached this grove too, wouldn't that put him in the same position as these 11 Supernova? It's either that or his journey ended off panel. Does he still have his 15 million or similar bounty or did he keep quiet on the way here?
I'm thinking that we're in a prime position to learn about the state of Buggy's crew. It has to be soon, since this place is such an important goal in crossing the Grandline. And, all pirates have to come here anyway right?
So, the point I'm making is that Buggy has to be showing up soon.
-
(neaarly) last time we saw him his "following" bit got him to look for a random treasure
-
Buggy's bounty actually went down from good behavior.
-
Hmm.I actualy wonder if they'd lower a bounty if they'd found out theyve given a too high number for an individual,to ensure they wouldn't have to pay too much.
-
I still don't understand why everybody has to reach this place.
Considering the map there should be still five different paths at this point of the Grandline.
-
Some of the theories in this thread…
Awful. Just plain awful.
Shark zoan? All the Supernovas teaming up against the SHs? Robin was part of Capone's crew? Luffy is going to oneshot Kid?
Seriously guys?
-
It is a most curious thing, how these eight other pirate groups all got to Shabondie Archipelago. Unless they already knew beforehand about resin-coating ships to pass through the hole in the Red Line, how did they know that they needed to come to Shabondie in order to reach the New World? Not too many of them seem very friendly, so assistance from people living in the area (such as Camie and Hacchi) would probably have been coerced. Then again, there's no telling how long their individual trips have been delayed while getting the information necessary to proceed, not to mention the question of how long they've been waiting for a coating mechanic. Under such circumstances, the displays of violence are no surprise. Perhaps they're better-tempered when they aren't stuck in one place indefinitely.
-
Robin was part of Capone's crew?
I don't see the problem from this one. Robin worked with a lot of pirates over the years and Capone's from West Blue. Granted, he's a rookie, but that could just mean the Grand Line. All these guys/gal are much older than Luffy; they could've taken their time as normal Blue pirates before entering the Grand Line.
-
That would be an good theory
but i think it means rookies to being pirates like luffy.I really hope that these rookies show up later on in the new world, especially Law and Kid, no reason in particular apart from i like their design.
-
@Bartholemew:
I still don't understand why everybody has to reach this place.
Considering the map there should be still five different paths at this point of the Grandline.
There are five different routes remaining, and the log posts for all these crews are pointing to one of the five islands in the New World BUT the only way to get into the New World is to go over the Red Line - and since most people seem to agree that there isn't some tiny stream going through the Red Line, you have to go under. Therefore all these people need to get their ship coated and Shabondy is the (only?) place to get that done.

Thats Arlong Prok for ya.

It's still just stupid speculation.

The only problem with this theory is that every organization Robin worked for in the past was completely destroyed according to Aokiji, leaving her the sole survivor.

Nothing is stupid until proven wrong. Quit taking everything so seriously. It's just a comic book.
But yes, as candrew pointed out, every organization Robin has worked with before was destroyed, according to Kuzan. So that wouldn't work.

Like Shakky said, information is power. One Piece would be truly chaotic if every crew was as clueless about the world as Luffy's is.

sure
was ironic to the members who don

But the Log Pose of the Strawhats' is pointing to Fishman Island, isn't it?
Shouldn't that imply that Fishman Island is a part of the Strawhats' route and not part of the other routes?
And the other paths are clearly going through the Red Line on the map. -

And the other paths are clearly going through the Red Line on the map.Well the way I understood it, is that you have to go through Fishmen Island than you choose a route to go on after you get through it.
-
Well, does all the Supernovas teaming up against Strawhats even make that much sense? I mean, the Supernova to go after would be Kid… he has the highest bounty, and in the pirate world, bounties dont mean strength, but they do mean something, and I'm pretty sure Kid would be the first priority.
-
This chapter was so incredible, that I had to change my signature.
If all the Supernovas go against the SH, how would that work out? Would Luffy beat 2 or 3 of them? Will Cammie or Hatchi help?
If this prediction does come true, I'll be expecting the same emotion and superiority like in the Enies Lobby fights.
-
the supernova team up is a crap idea. just because they were all introduced the same chapter doesn't mean they'll all suffer the same fate in the story.
-
Sylar-thats why I'd close the thread till any further notice of of the next chapter. There's just nothing REASONABLE left to discuss.
-
If you people noticed, the Supernovas are all on different pirate crews. Most of them are captains of their own crew.
Teaming up isn't likely. They all have the same goal, to be the Pirate King. They don't want competition, so they'll probably fight each other.
When they introduced them, 2 were shown. But what were they doing? Fighting.
Edit–-------------------
Sorry, I forgot that Killer and Kid were in the same crew. -
Yes, the Nova's were killing civilians on the island!
Someone better throw down, not to mention if the SH's fight the Nova's an Admiral has to show up. How cool would that be? Let's go! Do it right now! Oda get down! -
