@Ao:
I wasn't too fond of the Cindry licking the floor scene either, especially since it was drawn in a submission fanservice kind of way.
So what kind of floor licking is unsubmissive?

When there's spilt food involved. Delicious, delicious dirty edible things, gathering bacteria on the floor. Oh, how sweet the salmonella.
@joekido:
I wonder if Hogback is going to use his typical belly dance for combat?
He'll have to do the Truffle Shuffle…
I think Zooro and sanji will get their shadows next chapter. Very easy, very soon. Chopper will take quick care about the doctor and finally we are at Moria and Oz.
Oh, mysterious Nami and the treasure, I forgot.
This was said a while ago,but here goes:Someone said that Oda only kills people in flashbacks,but when,in Skypiea,Enel wiped out Angel island,there were still a lot of people runing away,so that a lot of em had to be wiped out (or would fall to their death through the hole that was Angel Island,if they,somehow,miracoulusly (damn word) survived-like with Pagaya,that KINDA made his "death" scene a litle userious,if Oda'll do this more often,hell end up being like Marvel,killing a character dramaticly,while the leaders just smirk and bet in how many issues that chatacters gonna return (and in marvels case alone,what stupid,idiotic "clone-illusion-anyotherdamnoverusedplottwist" comment theyll make to explain it (when Spidermans aunt,May died of OLD AGE and they said that she was instead represented by a DOUBLE in the casket,now THAT was just plain stupid) ,because Oda doesnt bother with theese informations,he just shows you that characters suvived,end of story))
@Rai:
Not the act itself that was disgusting, but rather the whole idea in theory. He made her lick the floor just like that in front of Chopper, like he's telling him "Hehe, what are you scared at? It was only the start. You don't wanna know what I did to her, trust me."
Yeah, really. When Hogback said he could make Cindry obey everything he wanted, that sounded very shocking, if you know what I mean.
I'm sure the reason Chopper is so burned up over this is because of what happened to Hiruruk. The poor guy never got to say goodbye or say he was sorry. That must be what burns him even more than the fact that someone he looked up to is essentially evil. Here he was thinking about the possibility of bringing people back to life so they wouldn't end up like him, and it just gets smashed.
That means we're gonna see a side of Chopper even without 3 rumble balls that we haven't seen in a while.
stephen nailed this.
I kiond of expected Hogback to be more dangerous….oh well. All the fights so far are amazing, I can't wait to see where this goes! ^_^
Yeah, really. When Hogback said he could make Cindry obey everything he wanted, that sounded very shocking, if you know what I mean.
Not only the sexual view mind you O_O stare
But yeah kinda.

Not Hiluluk _himself [well of course he too plays a major rule, with the 'Cindry's relatives' moment], but more like this is a point where he carries Hiluluk's will, the whole thing with the flag and Wapol's selfish crap that trapped Drum.
Actually that's what made me think that Hogback will go down in a similiar way.
This chapter is much more awesome after you think about almost how every single bubble is connected to many complicated stuff in the past and truly delivers what the character is. And Oda probably didn't even think about it. ><
That means we're gonna see a side of Chopper even without 3 rumble balls that we haven't seen in a while.
This time it's not connected to Chopper's fighting abilities at all. If he wanted he could smack both Cindry and Hogback in seconds [same for Robin], and as far as I remember this never happened before in the series for any character. Another proof why you shouldn't compare and decide between arcs which one is better._
@Rai:

The licking floor scene actually looked an innuendo to me.
Your making it sound like Hogback is a necrophiliac…or is it just a necrophile?
As a man whose entire personality thrives off innuendo, it didn't even occur to me until I read the topic.
It still doesn't, in fact. I can kinda see it, but it's not in any way how I took it.
For me, the scene goes straight down to shock factor. Cindry was unshakable the entire arc and then, wham, a neighbor from Left Field comes to visit and ruins your bathroom. I really do think the point was to establish absolutely that Hogback is an inhuman monster that fits right into the Moria crew.
The zombie thing didn't do it for me. I could see it, but I just saw "mad scientist". Now I see just visions of fists and teeth while "Go To Sleep" by Eminem (Feat DMZ and Obie Thrice) runs through the background. Just some NASTY gangster shit. Nothing full of rage either. Just Business As Usual psychotic body chopping murder.
Ah, well, I guess it's suspect, but I pick up change from under dressers in that same pose she had. If I'm looking at an ant, I probably look like that. I can't even think of anyone who'd lick the floor differently.
There was once a Zelda episode with zombies and evil pigs licking Ganon's floor in the original Saturday morning TV show. An entire castle of loin clothed monsters in the same pose.
Take it as you will, I guess.
Necrophile?I think theyre atracted by a rigor mortis,by a cold and lifeless body,and even though we dont know if Cindry's "cold" we know she isnt "lifeless" (she sure throws plates round at an amazing speed)
You know, if your mind works that way then you'll see it that way. I never saw it as anything more than Hogback exercising his will over the Mario to make it seem more pathetic.
And if your mind works that way then…why are you complaining?
To whom was that directed?
@dwo:
Oh, mysterious Nami and the treasure, I forgot.
More like Pirate Nami vs Captain John….
Was not there a treasure of Captain John? Maybe it was with the corpse, who knows...
Buggy was looking for Johns treasure yes but it seemed to have been buried somewhere else and not with the body..
there is also the treasury of TB near Peronas room…
and lola... and john... and gunslinger... and the 3 midgets left
To whom was that directed?
I guess that was for me.
Actually when I said innuendo, I meant it more as those "out of context" stuff than something offensive.
Now, now. It was never about whether I was right or he was wrong (at least I didn't want that to be it) just that he could be open to other ideas without bluntly saying, "That won't happen."
True that.
To whom was that directed?
No one in particular but anyone that thinks it's directed at them ^_~
Wow, I just realized something. Thriller Bark so far is from chapters 442-468. The Don Krieg/Baratie arc went from chapters 42-68. Weird. But Thriller Bark makes it as the longest short arc in One Piece history as it's still continuing.

DBF? Little Garden? Not sure, but Arlong?
Anyhow what's weird? So you realized it on the chapter, but the only coincidence here is that they both started on '42s.
I'm counting from the chapter summaries section of the main site. Baratie and Arlong Park were both the longest short arcs at 26 chapters(where TB is now).
And I guess what I found wasn't so weird, still is a coincidence that we're at 468 and Baratie ended at 68, but that will pass when 469's released.
Actually Baratie has 29 chapters while Arlong has 27 chapters.
Well, you can't always judge a book by its chapters. Seriously, (L)oguetown was one of the most important and climactic arcs, and it lasted what, three chapters?
Yes,but even if it WAS,it was so brief that even with fillers it prety short.But anyway, ive always measured a small arc by the size of Davy Back Fight,that was really short and nothing really hapened,but I still cant dislike it.But ,I dunno,I hoped Oda would throw something short,DBF wise at us,after Enies Lobby.

Well, unless you count Aokiji showing up and freezing the bejeezus out of everyone and everything. But that felt slapped-on, which I guess is why they split it up in the anime.
That was the only thing thad DID happen.
Yeah, Thriller Bark is a lot more relevant to the plot. Even more so if Brook joins the crew.
@IT'S:

Nah the DBF arc is there to explain why Blackbeard suddenly is a subordinate to some nonamed pirate like Foxy
(i wonder if BB would break a DBF pledge… he killed a "nakama" while he was hiding on WBS ship but question is if he ever considered himself part of that crew or just saw it as a hiding place)

Wait, what? WTF are you talking aboot?
… its a joke hence the smily.
im just saying that Davey Back Fights may play a role in the future with wierd aqusitions of other crews crewmembers. (and that Foxy possibly could win BB by beating Doc Q and Lafiette in a threelegged race)
sniggers at "aboot" (canadians in Southpark asses on fire)
Hey, I'm Canadian, so I'm obligated by the Geneva Convention to say "aboot" a minimum of once every sixty days.
Anybody still think Jigoroh and Dogpen will end up fighting Brook and Franky?

I always thought they split it up because they wanted more filler after DBF, but who am I to decide.
And BB valuing nakamas and stuff, he does. I'm sure he does. If he didn't, he'd just be another villain. The whole idea about him is that he has Luffy's justice, but an asshole's personality.
@Rai:

Yes, but the fact that it was tacked-on made it possible for them to split it up for filler purposes.
I don't really understand what you did there @__@
he says there is a natural break between sokiji and the DBF.. it doesnt really flow into each other so they are easy to seperate.
Make up a bunch of people who need to get somewhere over the water, and presto… Aokiji arc.
are you talking about the anime or the manga now?
I'm happy with this chapter. I was looking forward to this confrontation since Chopper hasn't had the opportunity to say anything of real significance in a looong time. Though Hogback doesn't appear to be a fighter, there doesn't even need to be an epic smackdown to satisfy since this is a battle of ideology and values. And it looks like some of Chopper's naivety and innocence in judging others has been shaken quite a bit (from that SHIT GOES CRAZY face he's making.)
Robin/Chopper team-up is ace. It can't end yet!
One confusing thing is Cindry's sudden submissiveness. Where did THAT come from? I feel it was abruptly injected into the chapter, contrary to her portrayal until now and without explanation, for the sole purpose of making us hate Hogback more.
Even still. He's bad, but not Spandam bad.
she hasnt really disobeyed any direct order before has she? she has just been rebellious and smartass towards Hogbak.
Yeah. I figured he was proving that even if the zombies act disobedient, they still can't refuse a direct order.
That's true I don't recall Cindry ever disobeying orders.
But the entire image of their relationship we were given until now has been that Hogback was afraid of her, that she was uncontrollable. Her threatening him, throwing crap around, etc. It gave the impression that Hogback was pussy-whipped.
All of a sudden it's NO BITCH, GET DOWN ON YOUR HAND AND KNEES AND PUT THAT MOUTH TO WORK.
Just seemed kind of abrupt and contrived considering the timing.

Yeah that's true. The zombies act like rebels until one of the Mysterious Four yell to them stop and listen their orders. I think that's why Moria is so carefree with Odz's reckless behavior, because soon or later he will put real control in Odz.

stephen nailed this.
This point was seemingly ignored but it's the truth. Is this the first time Chopper's naive side has allowed him to feel this much pain? It would be nice if he grew a little from this experience.
I pointed out that Chopper's reaction was partially due to his feeling for Hiruluk after his death. I think part of Chopper is disapointed because he actually thought there was hope for a resurrection-type of medicine for people.
All of a sudden it's NO BITCH, GET DOWN ON YOUR HAND AND KNEES AND PUT THAT MOUTH TO WORK.
Thank god, I'm not the only one who felt that way! It seemed a total 180 from the way their relationship was introduced.
Greg already pointed that out, no need to repeat it.
Anyways, only way I'd explain how she's all obidient now is she recently got a new shadow, and it recently got rid of its personality. But what kills that idea is in Hogback's flashback, when she was first resurrected, she starts talking about destroying all plates.
