@TLC:
Not sure I like the feel of this. I mean look
Silly toast thing aside, the new one doesn't seem as fun and more up its own ass, it could be just a teaser thing but we'll see.

And yes, before you tell me, I know it's more faithful to the tone of the manga...that doesn't make it a good thing.
Because the logical jump from something not having toast and being a separately graceful style of animation is "up its own ass", which is very close to deriding it for ostentation. You should know how silly it sounds to call something pretentious for the sin of not featuring toast.
The new anime is likely to be hella close to it (as seems the standard now for these more intentionally driven adaptations), so people should really get their bummers out of the way now that Sailor Moon is not necessarily a gigantic filler-filled hyperactive narrative full of highly exaggerated chibi faces. Looking at the new anime as if it's a deviation from the old one is still exactly how many people are still looking at it, no matter how many times they say they know it's going to actually be based on the manga.
The old one has its charms especially with how it looks and is animated (which do wear thin when so much time is wasted on the nonsense that it endures), it will always be there. More than anything I hope people will be able to appreciate the Sailor Moon adaptation not for its [still only assumed] faithfulness, for its own sake, but because it seems to be retaining that very influential flow of Takeuchi's floweriness and grace. It's gonna be real pretty for sure.
Besides they aren't going to be that different. I haven't read it in years but I remember the original still being pretty goofy and fun. The only thing I'm wondering about if character animation going to retain any of the exaggerated goofiness in any capacity, when the tone is silly, or if it's going to remain entirely on model (my memories might be betraying me on how most of the manga is drawn– I think as time went by it stops SD-ing like ever?).
