Not sure if this counts, but I thought Dr. Indigo would fight Franky in Strong World.
Wrongness in general

I thought Oda wouldn't have the balls to kill Ace. I was pleasantly surprised.
-
I thought Oda wouldn't have the balls to kill Ace. I was pleasantly surprised.
This. I was even more surprised that he also killed Whitebeard. I thought one or the other was going to die in the war but both of them dieing really caught me off guard…
I also thought that most of the Supernovas who faced Kizaru were among the captured pirates but I was wrong about that too. I also thought that Blackbeard and Magellan were going to have an epic showdown at Impel down...
-
Oh yeah remembered one, Bon Kurei surviving Impel Down.
Now to play the waiting game for the 'Moria is still alive' theories ….:ninja: -
I also thought that Blackbeard and Magellan were going to have an epic showdown at Impel down…
they did
pretty one sided though
-
I thought Fishman Island was going to happen a lot sooner. I was wrong. :getlost:
-
Oh yeah remembered one, Bon Kurei surviving Impel Down.
Now to play the waiting game for the 'Moria is still alive' theories ….:ninja:Mr. 2 is no more dead now then he was fighting Hina at the end of Alabasta.
-
Oh yeah remembered one, Bon Kurei surviving Impel Down.
Kindly point me to where it DEFINITELY says that he's dead.
This thread shouldn't be abused like that.
-
I thought Moria was killed by Doflamingo.
how wrong I was…
-
I thought Sabo died. how wrong was I?
-
I thought Moria was killed by Doflamingo.
how wrong I was…
You weren't
On Ace, well, I tought he wasn't going to die too…
-
I remember when we have the "Hancock is Luffy's mom", the twist was so brutal for them…
-
Oh Dear god! Not that discussion!
-
I really thought Croc had some kind of insite when he left Impel Down. Like he knew the world would be stiring, and it was all part of some master plan.
Thank God it was as simple as "i'm sick of this place, let me out so I can escape with you".
Also wrong about the shadow in Zoro's cover story being Shanks.
-
I hope I will see a lot of "I really thought Moria was dead" in this thread in a near future. :ninja:
-
The Red Line was to show up until the series was getting close to chapter 1000 yet proven wrong at chapter 490, does that help?
-
I remember when we have the "Hancock is Luffy's mom", the twist was so brutal for them…
I think I was actually on that boat for a little bit when we got that cliffhanger where Luffy recognized something about Hancock while she was in the bath.
When people like Doflamingo and Crocodile are in there 40s and they look like they're in their late 20s or early 30s, she easily could have been Luffy's mom.
Not to say that her being Luffy's mom would be good writing at all, but it's a shame just went down an equally shitty path and became one of Oda's worst written characters to date.
-
Uh, pretty much any of my theory posts. Like Blackbeard staying a Shichi, just for starters.
-
I thought'd she was a former Whitebeard pirate.
Whatevah, it could have worked ;__;, don't mock me -
Thatch is the mastermind behind the Blackbeard pirates.
Plus he is Stronger.
Although it hasnt not been proven:ninja: -
Recanting as much as I can…
Ace being revived… (Big one!!) -- however, in some minute chance, it could happen still off-panel, but the tombstone marker should put this down, relatively quick.
Bon Clay escaping Impel Down with Luffy...
Supernova wouldn't make the war...
Shanks wouldn't make the war...
Whitebeard pirates would escape ON THEIR OWN!!
The direction of the cover serials are starting to turn annoying, especially with Rayleigh appearing in Amazon Lilly. -
I thought that Brook was a bad guy when he first appeared. Like, he was actually working for Moria and was tricking the Strawhats.
-
I remember when I first started watching the series and was still on early East Blue I watched the Kokoro no Chizu opening and shortly afterward flipped through Vol. 11, saw a random marine in Smoker's squad that resembled Aokiji, and thought that they were the same person.
Oh, and I briefly thought that, back when Kuma showed up on Thriller Bark, that Franky would somehow get Oars back on his feet (the mecha cockpit thingie, ya know?) and use him to somehow escape from Kuma.
The only real part of the story where the ''Hancock is Luffy's mom'' theory would have been interesting was when he was completely disgusted with her. On that note, I was expecting him to punch her in the face giving her a broken nose or a nosebleed, thus ruining the whole ''most beautiful'' schtick.
-
Theory about Kuma, that he wasn't human but a kind of terminator-like cyborg reprogrammed by Dragon to be a spy amidst the WG.
Franky being related to the flying fish riders because of their logo being on his shirt on thriller bark.

I was sure that Hattori had devilfruit powers.
-
People also thought Croc had some huge plan connected to being in Impel Down.
How ya like me now.
-
Crocodile not becoming the Whitebeard Pirates Captain. Kuhahahaha !
-
Crocodile not becoming the Whitebeard Pirates Captain. Kuhahahaha !
Perhaps he did, but Marco was a stand-in for their "big-boss"
-
They havent voted yet. Plus Crocodile can give an amazing speech … at the graveyard.
-
I was sure Kuma ate the bear zoan. Even had a theroy that he taught CP9 their marital art.
But I had one that came pretty close to being true.
My theory was a ghost fixed the merry on skypeia and would join the crew and basically haunt the ship and go around scaring Ussop and Chopper.
Not quite true, but really closer then I had any right. Especially once we got an undead crew member.
-
I thought that Akanu's fruit would be blood.
..and I still believe it would fit him more. -
Not really my theory, but how about that time some people tought Kizaru was Spandine?
-
I thought that Akanu's fruit would be blood.
..and I still believe it would fit him more.Ah yes, that was one of mine too.
-
I honestly thought Ace would live, and Luffy would've dragged him as Whitebeard stays alone to fend off the Marines, dying that way. But we know how that turned out.
-
I thought the crew was going to show up at the war. I was way off.
-
I thought that Akanu's fruit would be blood.
..and I still believe it would fit him more. So… someone shoots him... and blood comes out...
Genius -
BB would remain a shichibukai.
Going off of just him not showing up at the war on time and breaking in to ID for w/e reason (even if it was to get a crew) I felt the argument that the WG wouldn't let him continue to be a shichibukai was stupid. I took some solace in him openly giving up the status due to his own plan.
Gotta really think about the other prediction I was completely wrong about.
-
I thought Ace would live, Boa would throw away her shichibukai title, Luffy would beat a VA in the war, all wrong..
-
I thought the Straw-Hats would escape from Sabaody right to Fishman-Island.
I thought Luffy would meet Ace in Impel Down.
I thought Sabo would be on the cover of Vol. 59. (that´s very recent) -
-
1. I thought that all Shichibukais would be defeated before reaching the New World. But this is not Naruto, why do every Shichibukai, Yonkou and Marines need to be beaten up anyway?
2. That Fishman Island is in the middle of the ocean with the Red Line still far off. But that would mean the the Red Line would be more impossible to pass.
3. That Kuma was stereotypically religious. Glad he's not.
4. That Brook was one of the races of Skeleton people, before it was revealled that he ate a Devil Fruit. Oh well, whatever. Oda did add quirky races.
5. That the Straw Hat Pirates would remind in the first half of the Grand Line before chapter 1000
6. That the New Age was a cult leaded by Dolflamigo. But again, this is Oda we'er talking about.
7. That Usopp brought back Yagan's head…Oh wait I meant that the story would focus on 9 crewmembers before they all get reunited on a curtian island before heading back to Sabaody.
8. That Rayleigh was in jail in Sabaody Marine HQ
9. That Jinbei would be in Fishman Island where the Straw Hat pirates would beat him up. But again this is not Naruto.
10. That Raftle won't be reached until chapter 2000.
11. That SHP would cross the Red Line where Mariejois is and beat up bandits before reaching Mariejois and beat up the Gorousei before arriving at the New World. That would be a pain in Oda's butt if he chose that path
12. That Ace would live. I'm glad he's dead.
I'm glad all of them are wrong. But there were things I was right about. Such as the SHP going to Sabaody, that the story would go back to Amazon Lily, that Luffy's straw hat won't be lost. Etc, etc

1.)I thought that Law will be the one taking Luffy to Sabaody Archipelago and at the same time finally leaving Hancock at AL.
2.)I thought that Sabo would die or betray Luffy and Ace.
3.)Thought that Hancock/Jimbei/Nyon or any random AL character was gonna teach Luffy about the basics of Haki.
4.)The moment I clicked on the forums section of OneManga, I was merely a sheep. Easily swayed by one's opinion. At first I thought that Perona was somewhat important to the story after reading an AGOG post but after reading it, I started to say to myself "There's something wrong w/ this guy, he's reaalllyyyy weird." Then I began to think that maybe there are many people like him who believe in such a crazy suggestion(Perona for nakama) but thank God I was wrong. The moment I started lurking in these forums and reading the posts by JERK DISEASE and other posters dismantle and flat out put down AGOG and his fucked up theories and from other forums as well there are a lot of people who disagree with his ideologies and thank God for that.
5.) Thought that ArlongPark was filled with AGOG-like posters. THANK GOD I WAS WRONG. THANK GOD
-
None of my stated theories was confirmed wrong.

@joekido:
1. I thought that all Shichibukais would be defeated before reaching the New World. But this is not Naruto, why do every Shichibukai, Yonkou and Marines need to be beaten up anyway?
Exactly, that's why there isn't going to be any Doflamingo arc that people seem to love anticipating.
-
I thought the crew was going to show up at the war. I was way off.
Also, you took a shot that the logpose broke.
-
Exactly, that's why there isn't going to be any Doflamingo arc that people seem to love anticipating.
Well, there will be probably…
-
I never was wrong.
-
I thought Crocodile would have ended up incapacitated at some point during either the escape from Magellan at Impel Down or during the war at Marineford(preferably by Newgate relatively quickly) and end up being locked up yet again. I'm pretty disappointed that didn't happen since the guy was the antagonist in his own major arc unlike let's say Buggy who already had connections to future big players already established in the New World. I'd have preferred more focus to have gone to newer introduced characters during the most recent arc.
Also the whole thing with Teach having attained the position of an Armed Seas for more than simply getting into Impel Down. The main reason being is that it seemed overly roundabout to me and for guys like the Blackbeard Pirates something like that could have been done even without the Tarai Current and the subsequent opening of the Gates of Justice. Even without getting into the "what if" scenarios that would occur inside the prison itself the whole thing felt like a wasted opportunity in my eyes. Still though, the way it happened certainly placed Teach as the major antagonist of One Piece sooner than I expected so I can't complain since he's one of my favorite characters in the story.
