No, Oda just uses the same colors for everyone. I guess he's lazy, or doesn't experiment enough with his COPIC markers.

I also noticed that all of the skin tones were the same; I wonder why, although the laziness thing sounds like a probable answer.

Well most artist do the same thing-use the same brown watercolor for everyone's skin tone. I dunno if it's laziness,just saves time and it's what's done in Japan. I have a feeling alot of manga artist aren't great colorist in the first place, so it just makes things easier on them.:P
Also..I'm pretty positive Morgan was NEVER supposed to be black. Seriously..XD
He was about as dark as Zoro. It's just a tan. -
for dudes asking for extractions, it takes longer to start up photoshop than to extract a character. :o)
also no Morgan isn't black, i believe the only black characters we've seen so far is AoKiji, the weight lifter at Whiskey Peak and one of Buggy's crew.

Mr.1, Mr.5 and Ms. Monday are all black. I never thought of Aokiji being black, actually, but now that sabre mentions it I think he is.

Yeah, I always saw the characters with dark skin and three lined lips to be how Oda draws black characters, now Blueno…he don't got the lips..so I don't think he is.

I don't think Oda make his characters deciding which "race" they are, he just make them have different hair and facial looks and sometimes they look like a black person for example, also when oda color people, they all have the same skin color, not extremly white like Ener or black like Mr. 5 like in the anime…

As long as oda doesn't start making Mr. Popo's in One piece then it really doesn't matter all that much.
Side note - Aokiji being black or looking it brings a smile to my face in the weirdest way. (Maybe its the fact he's in a position of power):happy:

Aka Inu looked pretty black in his anime debuit too. So there's more "ethnic" guys in positions of power too. Not to mention Kuma is black. Or really tan, since he has the sunglasses.

Well, his skin is quite black too. There are also various black marines and WG members about, even if they have no names. Plus, you can't forget Gaimon or Kuromarimo.

After finally figuring out where all these color images of various characters were coming from, I found this thread.Obviously, we're all dissapointed that the Strawhats weren't featured. (Tashigi, Vivi, Carue, and Bon Clay would've been nice cool as well) HOWEVER, the picture seems to be rivals of Luffy's, or at least people he's had conflicts with at some point (hence the monkeys and the giants and Wiper, who are all on good terms with Luffy)Now what would be really cool is if we got another image, same size but instead of rivals and enemies, all the Strawhat allies and of course the Strawhats. (Bon Clay, Vivi, Conis, all the East Blue supporting cast, maybe even Tashigi considering she helped the Strawhats in Alabasta, Galley La, Franky Family, etc.)And I've joined the avatar made from this image club, with Alvida and Buggy.

At the same time, all those you listed have the same skin as every single other human in the manga. Though I suppose you could go by other physical features, but you seem to disregard to. Though there's the other color pages, but if you look at the Baroque Works one, those you listed don't look any different those in the calender.

Boo for no strawhats, yay for new doodles of old characters (Does Alvida's boobs look bigger) I especially liked Morgan, he looks doped up of the roids.
Well, as nice as it would've been to see all the straw hats in this, its really awesome to see old characters drawn again by Oda…. And of course, it ties together with having the main character in there as well, so that works for me! At least we got a nice new color spread with the entire crew now as well though!
