fate/stay night anybody?
What's the difference between Versus and… the other FFXIII.

Better quality than the above link.
Wow its looks very nice too bad they only showed that one scene, the guy looks insane
I reaaaaaally hope they make a pc version of this one 2 years after it's released like they used to do for 7 and 8.. I just can't possibly get a ps3, and this game looks really cool for a Final Fantasy game, although completely different from the original trailer they showed at E3. Perhaps it'll have two main characters again.
Im really looking forward for this and XIII, finally no more blonde main character… >:) And this is litte bit more sci-fi like 7 and 8 just like want it to be...
Well it looks better than XII so that's a start, can't really say much since all we saw was a guy walking down some stairs getting shot at.
Anyone know if that's the main character or the main bad guy?
fate/stay night anybody?
Me too, me too!!! XP
After square-enix copyed the scene of Vivi being send to the sky by everyone ( Alabasta arc ) and putted in Final Fantasy Advent Children…. I'm not that surprised when I just see that good looking but sooooo advent children character design, using the same power that other guy in fate uses..... it's diferent but it's there in the trailer...
Aaaah yes... It's just me or Yoshitaka Amano's character design is so way better than the transgenic design tetsuya do? < I don't know if it's him who does but.... after FF: AC, it looks like the profissional doesn't have anymore creativity.............. -_____- Square pleaaaaase learn something!!!! use the real art fo amano!!! don't try to modernizate.......... please!!
Phew.... why final fantasy can't look like final fantasy like the old days?
although completely different from the original trailer they showed at E3.
erm….that would be because they're two entirely different games.
Also, that was all FMV so when you consider that....it really isn't interesting. Not to mention it's the same exact trailer we've seen stills of for months now.
A friend I sent the link to already explained they're two separate games, I didn't realize there was a difference because it seems bizarre for them to release two games with the same number simultaneously..
As far as the video/images, this is the first time I have seen either, so yes for me it is interesting. Telling me otherwise is like smacking me, and telling me I'm not feeling pain
Telling me otherwise is like smacking me, and telling me I'm not feeling pain
Who was 'telling you otherwise'?
I was speaking in general.
This trailer is also FMV so don't get your hopes up just yet. I think it's a target they want to reach like the halo 3 trailer. It could end up looking almost as good but i doubt it, maybe towards the end of the consoles life we'll begin to see those graphics.
I hope this movie will be as good as the Kingdom Hearts 2 movie….
Whooops, I mean game.
Ug. That character looks like a cross between Cloud and Sora. Boo, Nomura.

Nowadays it seems everybody are resorting to CG trailers. It can be deceiving. Hellgate: London has a very awesome trailer but when you look the actual gameplay itself, it's like a totally different story (still looks awesome though). I think FFVIII was the first game where this kind of "false" advertising was practised. But to be fair, within one minute, the Halo trailer managed to offer bits of the story, good action and just plain badass-ness. Where this trailer is just boring.
So, anyway, from what gathered this is a spin-off of a FF game which isn't even out yet? Square-Enix is good at milking the franchise, got to give them that. I'm not saying that this couldn't be a good game but my expectation aren't high.

…with a dash of Sasuke. shudders
I really don't see why they have to make two versions of XIII (at least at the moment anyway).
So it looks like the main "hero" will have evil elements. Heck he could even switch side and become the main villain, or perhaps VS XIII tells the story of the villain for XIII (the two interlink). I do like the look of his powers and I feel it could be promising. However I'll wait for more info.
I think people think too much about the XIII in the name…wasn't it said that it will be a different game (as in having as much in common as FF7 and 8 or something like that), but sharing the same basic idea? I wouldn't even call this a Spinoff or whatever, it's like MANY other Square games, just some game with the FF name and in this case the number...
And I liked the trailer, I really did.
Just too badass and awesome.
I'm going with Caracal on this. It's interesting (despite there being no gameplay footage), but I'll wait to see a bit more on what this is actually about.

From what (very) little information they've put forth it sounds like it will have the same degree of separation as say FFT, FFTA and FF12. Same world. Same themes, ideas, etc. Different story.
Actually there's 3 Final Fantasy XIII's, 2 for the ps3, and 1 for either handheld or mobile phones (don't recall the last one)
And Greg hit the nail on the head with the Tactics, Tactics Advance, and FF12 comparison.
Anywho…...I loved the main character design in the XIII trailer, I said "Nomura's using colors again! and no more side skirts!"
Then there's the Versus trailer.....more black, more long skirty-outfits, more flashy crazy action scenes ala KH and Advent Children.
As nice as the flashy styalized action is....could we move past that? If they plan on keeping Tetsuya Nomura as their go to guy for most of the series then he needs to start doing something else cus all the titles are starting to look the same.
Thank goodness for 12, a game free of Nomura's influence. I wish the'd use that guy's designs more often, his characters have a really cool unique look (his name escapes me but he did 12, Vagrant Story etc)
I'd also love for Amano to come back as lead character designer again, combining Amano's intricate unique style with cutting edge technology would be a sight to behold.
Good to see Shimomura back. She's definitly sounds better.
As a whole though, trailer looked nice, but content was really uninteresting.

My thoughts exactly.
Devil May Fantasy popped in first.
I have high hopes for the actual game though!!!! Here's hoping it will be the game I was hoping KH2 would be, but never was.

The third one is for the mobile phone which I find really annoying as so far it looks the most interesting. Why they can't put it on a handheld console is beyond me.
Is there any media for the cell one out yet?

I felt that way about Before Crisis. :/ (I loved the Turks.. and a game entirely dedicated to them?! Hell yeah..! ..but wait, I'd need a japanese picture phone for that. oh shoot.)
Anyway, looks interesting. If I ever get a PS3, and this continues to improve in my eyes, I'll certainly pick it up.
Also, @ Greg; there's an image of the main(?) characters.. It was a scan. I didn't save it though.

Ah, didn't know that, thanks for the info.
Oh gee, opera music theme song with someone walking slowly while people are shooting at him and he has a magic shield. I've never seen anything like this ever. Definitely not in Elfen Lied either. And then he pulls out a bunch of weapons floating in the air and looks to want to start throwing them everywhere and killing people with no purpose at all that really makes me want to play the game.
But I'll play it anyway, of course.

Yeah, me too. I was disappointed. Even if it came to North America, I probably wouldn't play (because I have no clue about phone games).
I'm currently play Dirge of Cerberus: Lost Episode on my cellphone. Dunno if that makes anyone jealous or not…....but it shouldn't ^O^ What massive suckage. I hope the PS2 game isn't the same sort of engine.

I once saw a picture of 12 characters, each holding a different weapon. It's been a while since I last sw the picture, and while Wiki doesn't have it, it does state what the weapons are:
So far, there are twelve characters revealed, all of whom appear to be students. Weapons include longsword, katana, handguns, a shotgun, a mace, a bow and arrow, a spear, a scythe, an extending flail, and bare fists. Other instruments which may relate to the use of magic also appear - in this case, a flute (possibly used to summon the moogle in the picture) and a deck of tarot cards.
While a large number of them have been used before, there are a few there which interest me, namely the tarot cards and scythe, resulting in my initial interest in the game. While it is nice to see the gunblade (or some varient) come back, I've wanted to have a charatcer in a FF game use a scythe for a while now.
OH THAT'S RIGHT!!!
I remember that now! It looked great but….cellphone games have not been anything stellar...unless you count the FF1 and 2 ports on Docomo's P series.
I'm not too into the idea of cell phone games. I guess they might have some neat ideas, but I dunno. I'd rather play a portable system I guess.
But I'm a completist, so I don't like the idea that I might never get to play that Turks game for the story (since they were one of my favorite things about FFVII).

At least he doesn't look like a female monkey (vaan)
There's gotta be something about those female-monkey types, cus Zidane and Vaan have proved to be more endearing and likeable than Tidus/Sora/Cloud types have been these days. (at least in my opinion they are)
Anywho, Supposedly Before Crisis WAS on its way to North America…..but there hasn't been any word on it for almost a year. And Square seemed admant about keeping it a mobile game and not porting it to a handheld.
I don't see why not, from what I've seen the ONLY feature of the game that really requires a phone is the camera function. We could very easily download content and interact with others wirelessly with both the psp AND DS.
I don't recall that picture of the 3rd FF13 game, I'm gonna go see if I can find a picture of it.
I'd also like to mention, anyone else loving the recent Amano title artwork? I loved 12's and its random splash of color and the 13 ones are simply gorgeous.
Vaan likeable? Since when?
As far as I know, the fangirls (and boys) are falling for Balthier, Basch (gasp!) and the black haired dude (Vossler?) rather than for Vaan. Vaan is too blatantly effeminate to have any appeal, it seems.
Zidane was cool, though.
I thought Vaan was kind of lame when I first saw him, but he didn't seem too bad from what I've played so far (which is only a few hours though, so my opinion might change).
I much prefer Balthier and most definately Basch to Vaan.
WHat I meant, though, was that unlike characters like Sora, Tidus, post-FF7 Cloud, Squall, etc. is that I haven't wanted to go for his throat every time he does something emo or stupid. He's not the coolest one in the game by far, but he's not nearly as annoying and emo I was expecting him to be (especially after Tidus…..)
In fact, I've yet to come across a character in 12 that I've had any kind of dislike for. And Fran has made me incredibly happy! We need more icelandic bunny women.
