@Nectar I think it might be downplayed, because acid burning flesh off bones might be a bit too gnarly for her.
My Hero Academia II - A true Hero

Manga going on "sudden break" - publication reasons is what I hear? Is that code for "author's health" ?
-
The breaks are getting really worrying.

It's likely a case of Horikoshi's health being poor.
JUMP is extremely irresponsible. It's just a comic, it's not worth anyone getting sick over.
-
Yeah. I can't help but think something major happend. Horikoshi may need to take a long break or even a Yoshihiro Togashi type leave of absence.
-

Did he remembered Iida exists?
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1016080 -
Slash is a hype tool, but it seems a bit out of place to just throw him in rn...? I dunno, I wish we had something else coming up.
-
He had to come in at some point, everyone was expecting him to. It's all about what he does now that's key. I think tieing him back into Iida is a smart move.
-
Mt. Lady has become a great hero. Some of the best character development in the entire series. Glad Death Arms had his moment. Hope he becomes an official hero again.
Stain's quirk would be real useful if he can get ahold of some Shiggy blood. Maybe Uraraka can swipe some off Toga. -
I've been down on MHA since the first war, but damn if this latest chapter wasn't sick as hell. The final page nailed it
-
First time in this arc that something exciting happens.
-
good chapter even though I don't remember 80% of what is happening this arc
-
He is there.

The angle at the end subtly showing All Might's scar, very nice touch. I love the confrontation BUT he's one of my favorite characters, I don't want him to go T_T
-
AM giving one last inspirational lesson before (attempting to) go out in a blaze of glory

@Cinder If Toshinori's flag was more red than now it would be flying in Berlin on May 1st of 45 by the sounds of the Internationale.
But then, Gran Torino got donuted by Peak physical strength Shigi and remained alive.
-
This is the final death flag. Looks like Toshinori's got something planned at least. A mech suit? Please let it be a mech suit.
And credit to Horikoshi for setting up AFO even bothering with Toshinori at this moment where every second counts. Oh! And Stain? If you're not gonna do something, go away. -

Stendhal Mask: "My job here is done."
The Fandom: "But you ain't done shit. Get back here." -
All Might is the best thing about the manga.
The scene where he stands there with his suitcase looking like a salary man reminds me of the pilot chapter. What a great callback.
-
I've been skim reading the manga since the last time the fire brother appeared just to get a general idea of what's going on, and All Might coming back was the first thing in a while that felt impactful.
-
Stain is deffo gonna save All Might. All Might can't die until he kills Stain after all.
-
Chapter is out. It's not what you expect.

Himura
TodorokiGeten
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1015960 -
Geten being a Himura kinda got me by surprise! It makes sense, and yet...seems a bit random. I'm cool with it though (sorry).
It's good to finally get Endeavor to try do his mistakes right. Nice piece of inner dialogue, for the series standard. I just hope that Hori won't somehow put most of this conflict's weight into Rei's shoulders.
I just can't see triple suicide as a solution, and it's ultimately not fair to Rei as a character as well, but Dabi has already been defeated and brought back only to go to the deep end...which begs some kind of climatic resolution. Endeavor's sacrifice is the low hanguing fruit, but Rei being in the picture seems to imply that they are going to reconect from the ashes of their sun's trauma. Overall a bad taste in the mouth, right? And OOMPH nothing says Ending Series like one of the three emotional hearts of it being dealt with. Now "All Might's sucession" and "Deku x Bakugou" is all we have in the emotional core list.
-
Todoroki shonen is gonna save big bro ain't he?
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1016572 -
I was so sure Dabi's gonna die but with so many ice users (plus Shoto coming), I'm not so sure. Guess they could literally put him on ice, forever...

A traditional Happy Mother's Day from MHA

God that's worse than recovering Touya, damn you Nectar.
-
@pariston_hill
I'm getting that ride or die feeling from the Todoroki's. Either they all go or nobody goes. You know, maybe none of the final members of the League are dying. Signs are pointing to Shiggy being "saved". If someone like him can possibly survive the series, I guess Dabi can. Even All For One, someone who totally needs to die, will do so mostly because he activated Eri's Rewind quirk and not because a hero kills him.
-
Another batch of colour volumes coming on June 2:
-
Here he is:
https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/viewer/1016662 -
Why are Toga and Uraraka on the cover? They're barely in the chapter.
-
@Nectar Someone remembered Hori that they still have a talk.
-
A whole chapter to say that Todoroki is on his way? I mean, seems like the pay-off is yet to come so I'll save (more) judgements for then, but it does seem like Hori is just padding for content a bit.
-
I'm guessing these last few short chapters were made around the time Hori was taking those breaks. Whatever happened, he probably wasn't feeling 100% better when he did them.
-
I feel like he's probably trying to hit Chapter #400 so he can just end the series and chapters like this are to buy himself some time.
-
Nah, there's a difference between filler and abnormally short chapters due to health. I doubt his editors would let him get away with this if there weren't extenuating circumstances.

I liked the art...and I chuckled when Tobi kept bad-mouthing everyone around him.

Not sure what to say other than the chapter was short. It just stopp—

Guess people got over cutting to black
-
Short but I really do feel bad about knowing there's something going on with the production but not knowing everything going on. Like some weird pressure to push when other authors have been able to take time off?
I get there's the whole argument about customers not being expected to "please understand" but it does feel bad when you have just enough knowledge to sympathize. So it hits a little differently when you run into the vocal comments about the chapter and see requests about wanting a discount on the volumes... lol
Looks like we're heading in this direction of the story now, just going to be taking baby steps.
-
Can't feel sorry for Toga honestly, and then there is the talk no jutsu
-
How many times do we need to reiterate how messed up these villains are? Can we get a move-on already?
-
Eh, MHA firmly takes the stance of Nurture over Nature and has done so since chapter one. Particularly with these major villains we've been with for 250 chapters, Horikoshi wants us to sympathize and see how the system has failed them. Shigi, Dabi, and Toga all have their origins rooted in different trauma and different failures of hero society; Toga's in particular carries a lot of queer-coded themes and reactions.
If anyone's going to get talk no jutsu'd, it's her.
-
Exactly. Of all the villains as well, Toga felt the least villainous, just after Twice, and the signs of a Talk no Jutsu with her have been around for a long time.
The issue isn't really with talk no Jutsu, that makes sense, the issue is what Horikoshi is going to do after this (because none of the villains can justifiably walk away from this scott-free).
-
Honestly Toga needed some social cue, what's wrong with telling her not to suck the blood of animals or humans. Her parents also seem overly dramatic, it's just a simple lesson in social behavior. Her sad story is not worth killing and destroying society for, she needs to get a f clue.
-
I still think animals arent so important that she should be banned from getting some blood there. Live in a farm and suck your cows from time to time. I dont think it is that big of a deal. And I still think she could have found a romantic companion that is ok with it.
Twice making gangs of himself seem a lot more dangerous than that,
-
The villains were supposed to be - at least the LoV recruits - symptoms of societies failing. But by not digging much time in small scale or low stakes arc/chapter to delve in said failings - as per heteromorph racism.
Bold move from Hori, killing Bakugo, Ochako and Deku eventually crumbling from his multiple quirks overdose/dying in consequence of Shigi/AFO battle.
