Only place where Carrot seems to beat Yamato is Latam.
ONE PIECE 7TH Popularity Poll!!
-
-
laughting at Woop Slap slaping so high. our power hungry major is ON, guys.
-
Wow, Hancock is the top female in Japan. Carrot is not going well there.
In the other hand, Latin America really loves females.
-
@TLC:
Arghhh Yamato was so close to breaking top ten, it might still happen when the rest of the votes are tallied but 11th place is really good. Would have loved to see her in the inevitable top ten colorspread though :<
Last time around Oda left out Strawhats from the spread, including Jinbe.
-
Sanji :osoba
Thought Law would be above him
Yamato already over Jinbe.
-
A comment I saw on Reddit:
Zoro on 2, Sanji on 3
Hiyori on 50, Pudding on 51 -
So obviously I noticed that Oda was pushing Yamato to be a really major character in a short amount of time, but I hadn't realised how well it was actually working. I don't dislike them as a character by any means, but I really don't feel like they've given enough to be nearly breaking into the top ten yet. Not sure what I'm missing that everyone else can see.
The biggest disappointment with the poll structurally is not having Oda himself as a voting option. It just doesn't feel right without him cracking the top 50.
The new Wano characters are doing pretty well relative to the classic allies and villains, considering their arc is still ongoing. Oda still knows how to make characters that connect with his audience.
Can we consider Namule an upset, making it into the top 100 at all? Where has this secret underground Namule fanclub been the whole time I've been following the series? He didn't place anywhere on any previous poll from what I can see. I wonder if after Izo came back people started digging through the other SBS-named Whitebeard subordinates for unique designs to stan. Crazy that he even outranked Izo though.

Yamato is number 11th.
Sometimes art reflects real life, serendipity, etc.
It’s fate
-
Yamato is the physically strong yet still attractive female character who doesn't have to rely on sexuality that fans have been looking for

Come on Yama-o bros, we can still make it.
-
Japan is sick of your Yamato vs Carrot nonsense and just wants Perona back.
-
Carrot is super unpopular in Japan, only on 48 compared to Yamato on 19
Asia: Yamato 13 vs Carrot 24
Oceania: Yamato 8 vs Carrot 11
North America: Yamato 6 vs Carrot 14 (Wood Slap on 7 here)
Latin America: Yamato 8 vs Carrot 5
Europe: Yamato 9 vs Carrot 13
Middle East: Yamato 13 vs Carrot 29
Africa: Yamato 6 vs Carrot 17That Japan number is damning.
-
Might be surprising i voted for Bellamy, what a success -> Europe 98/100:ninja:
-
I'm happy to see Sanji is firmly in third place, though I wish he was in second (or first).

Yamato is a breath of fresh air in terms of Oda's usual portrayal of gender. A feminine-looking character that actually fights like a typical Oda male (the Ace association also likely helped). Even the likes of Cavendish and Kikunojo are always portrayed in this stereotypical elegant fashion that's not very different from Oda's typical females.
I can see the appeal regardless if you view Yamato as a man or a woman.

Did they say number of votes somewhere? I'm curious.

Just going down the list.
Lucci is 40 and Kaku is 45? This is why those characters became CP0 members then, right? Because of their popularity?
Bartolomeo and Pell being as high as they are is very surprising to me. Namule though is probably the most surprising though. And funny. Was questioning Woop Slap but I guess he seems to be a meme.
Why is Orlumbus higher than the Thousand Sunny? Why is he in the Top 100 at all?
So Otama is popular in the community. Made Top 100. Good on her.
I’m happy to see Senor Pink on Top 100. Dark Horse and one of the few standouts I recall in Dressrosa.
Big Mom deserves better.
Oh dang Noland is 92! There’s a lot of cool older characters on the list that are doing better too, like Shushu or Gin that are nice to see, but to see Noland in the Top 100, that’s a treat.
Franky deserves better.
I also hate the lack of Kinemon respect in the community. Waving the fan club flag until the end!
-
No Momonosuke is also sad. The New World story so far is pretty much Momonosuke's story and how he gathers allies to save his country - the most important New World secondary character by far. A character who also appears to have a significant role post-Wano involving the "Dawn". I suppose considering how Momonosuke was an immensely annoying character until arriving in Wano, readers may not have made the turn to liking Momonosuke yet.
-
Kinemon is 85 in North America, 94 in Oceania, 79 and Latin America and the Caribbean, 54 in Europe, 74 in the Middle East, and 90 in Africa.
These aren’t high rankings, but to me it’s probably telling Kinemon didn’t rank in Asia. I just don’t know what that means though. Probably because he’s a stereotype?
-
Last time around Oda left out Strawhats from the spread, including Jinbe.
Are you sure? I remembered only the top ten being in the last popularity poll color spread.
This one
-
Yes! Another Noland fan!
So happy with the result. A daily vote is paid off :''D
!
In #92!!!
Don't let Noland out from Top 100. ((Just 7 days left to push. I'll give all +7 for him ))
Don't forget to
!
#VOTE_NOLAND and makes him feel peace "up" there :)
-

Okay on further research, I learned that was for the fifth popularity poll and you were referring to the sixth poll.
In that case, I guess it's up to Oda's discretion and I wouldn't be shocked if Yamato is pushed in a prominent role in the spread especially if he plans on making her join.
-
@TLC:

There was one after that, check chapter 874. In that case, Oda included Luffy + Top 20 non-SH characters. It was pretty telling that Jinbe was left out at the time.
-
So who told their fans to vote for Bacchy?
-
#VOTE_NOLAND and makes him feel peace "up" there :)

I like how Kaido & Big Mom placed so low, they even worse in Japan ranking. Kaido 89 & Big Mom in not even top 100 lmao, even Japan didn't like them.
-
One Piece official staff supporting in the video people that publishes Spoilers on Twitter… Great job :getlost::getlost::getlost:

Not yet, probably saving it for the last web count or …
intentionally not showing it to mask the number of Postcard Poll. -
Mdo we know if mail votes are counted or only electronic ones ?

Only electronic ones, I think.

Oda's waited way too long to give Kaido his flashback and in turn what I believe will be the Rocks Pirates flashback. I imagine this will make both of them more popular.
-

I suppose Kin'emon is rather generic, especially compared to the other far more colorful and distinct Red Scabbards.
Same for his personality and fighting style, which are more or less derivative of Sanji's.
-
Sorry, but I refuse to believe that Kaido is ranking so low and Big Mom didn't even make it to the top 100. I understand that Kaido is severely lacking and Big Mom has no visual mass appeal, deal with it, but when characters like Namule (yeah, think hard who that is) is placed 37 then something is fishy in more ways than one.
-
I wish Kid wasn't this low but it's mostly cause Oda failed on giving us anything for him pre face off which sucks.

Big mum is in the 80th rank. But i agree it is too low. I will vote for her every days next week

He's actually doing consistently in Japan (the one place that matters). 15th-18th have always been his highest rankings.
-
Its hard to get behind Kid and Killer because the readers just don't know their story yet. The main selling point is their character design and attitude.
Kid's use of his powers are incredibly lame and boring. Magnetism or Attraction/Repulsion powers can be utilised in much more creative and fantastical ways beyond lumping some metal together in the form a giant fist to…punch something.
If Kid and/or Killer get similar treatment to Law, opinions and affection for those characters will drastically change.
Hopefully Kid gets some sort of flashback...

Talking about Japan here, the only zone that realistically matters.
I just thought they would be more alert concerning the online votes, because it seems like this boils down to whoever has the most invested fans. And by invested I don't mean voting for someone once a day, but hundreds of times because it's that easy to abuse.
Of course the poll isn't completely worthless because of that, in the end popular characters are also more likely to have their fair share of super invested fans (looking at the top 5 here battling for the first 3 spots - and Zoro even beating Luffy in Europe) but I hope we will also get the pure postcard result later on.
Yes postcards can and will also be abused, but obviously not to this level. -
Kid and Killer has been given a fair amount of screen time in the Wano arc all things considered. Enough that there should have been a better feel for their characters given the hurdles they’ve faced.
-
How is Katakuri doing? I imagine he would be one of the more popular villain characters.
-
Carrot- 48 in Japan
Also Carrot- 5 in LaTamUhm.. is it so bad if I mention Asia to be the place where pets are eaten, while we get weekly news on LaTam about pets being sexually abused(?)
-

I was speaking more in the sense that I think right now should be peak Kid popularity as one of the people being at the center of the current clash. Some people have argued to me that the Yonko clash is Kid's punk hazard which okay that might help the character later but def doesn't make me care that he is at the Onigashima roof right now which is sad especially when I did care about Law facing Doffy.
-
Rabbits are also eaten in Europe so I doubt that Carrot's unpopularity in Asia stems from that. The Latin America part however, especially since we're talking about an anthropomorphic female rabbit…

Are you saying Latin America has a large furry fandom? :D
-

…..really?
I was about to ask what kind of animals, but... I'm not sure if I want to know. Maybe you can give a vague hint? I mean surely you understand that I can't just google it.
-
. Maybe you can give a vague hint?
pets with fur.
Never heard anything of birds or reptiles.(so far)
-
Law ranking #3 in Europe makes me happy. I wonder if him beating Sanji really is because he's that popular or if Sanji earns more dislike in Europe compared to other regions.
Surprised Carrot is ranking so low in Asia and Japan. i was under the impression she was reasonably popular there.
Can also agree that it's sad to see Kin'emon and Momonosuke so low, though I can understand it. They felt disconnected from the rest of the story until Wano (to be honest I feel the entirety of Momo's story feels disconnected, but that's a rant for another thread), and once Wano started they got drowned out by a slew of newer, more interesting characters.

Where the fuck you have been founding these news Monquito? There's a joke about interior farmers and donkeys, and the only real story I know about that practice involves a dog.

@Johnny:
Are you saying Latin America has a large furry fandom? :D
I could swear Germany or US were their capital.
-
I think what we can safely take away from this is that Franky is now the least popular Straw Hat. That's consistent in every region so far.
Makes sense honestly, I can't remember many great moments in the past couple years. A few "cool" moments, but nothing compared to Brook and his insane showing during Whole Cake (Oda should have called it the year of Brook).
