Well I certainly wasn't expecting that.
Dr. Stone

Kohaku continues to be the best.
-
Damnit Gin. Kinrou would be able to dodge that.
-
Kohaku really is the best, combining fighting prowess and quick wit. Also,
! that self-sacrifice. Damn.
! Additionally, we finally got the reveal of the petrification weapon. I'm not too versed in science-y stuff, but isn't that like two mobius strips combined into what looks like the symbol for infinity? And it looks pretty alien or at least futuristic on top of that. There has to be a much larger version that was used for the planet wide petrification - I wonder if the islanders somehow copied said "original" device? The story seems to be picking up in the manga, while the anime is still at the light hearted village village chapters. Still can't get enough of this at the moment, such good stuff!

! It's a trefoil knot
-
! It's a trefoil knot
! I see, thanks. Actually makes a lot of sense as well in regards to science, seeing how it falls into knot theory within mathematics. Interesting to note that it also holds cultural and religious significance as a common form of the triquetra and is being used by the islanders cult as means of maintaining power over their followers.
-
! First time I've ever been impressed with Ginro. This chapter just dialed up the desperation to 11. Quick thinking from Kohaku. Definitely best girl.
-
Very good chapter.
-
the second I saw him get fatally injured I was like, he's tots getting petrified
which I'm totally fine with but I just hope they don't continue to pull this card every time something bad happens, it's been played a few times already with Senku after he got killed by Tsukasa Shishio and then Tsukasa himself is being frozen so they can petrify him at a later point to heal him from his fatal wounds
I just don't want them to keep doing it
-
True, but they still have to recover their stone bodies set in the middle of enemy territory.
-
Ganbare Gen!
-
https://readms.net/r/dr_stone/123/6219/1
Badass Gen is badass. But nothing tops Mozu
! in his Science Kingdom invader outfit, hot damn! Gonna be interesting to see if he will become a permanent ally within this arc, or turn into an interim baddie.
-
Tsukasa will be their counter-measure to Mozu.
-
The petrificación weapon is at hand, with this they don’t need to go to South America yet. This is weird.
-
I was 5 chapters back and currently catching up. It took 121 chapters, but I finally
! get to see that beautiful petrification tool.
Fully caught up and i'm not fully on board with
! how they got Mozu for the time being. I understand that he showed signs of not telling Ibara things, but it came off convenient.
-
Well, there's the still the issue of how Ibara got the weapon in the first place. There's a lot more going on than we know.
-
Mozu is a dickwad and I hope they manage to defeat him this arc. I agree that diplomacy was the only way to procede at that point, but.. I really dislike him.
-
His neutral special is Gun.
https://jaiminisbox.com/reader/read/dr-stone/en/0/124/page/1
-
It feels weird seeing a pistol in this series, even tho it was hinted so early on.
-
I legit forgot Yo existed. This is a great way to give him more development. Although I'm now wondering why Magma hasn't been revived yet. He's not Kohaku but they need all the bruisers they can get.
-
Yo would probably have better aim if he would stop sticking that piece of stone back over his eye.
-
Episode 14 is so great. The anime in general has been awesome if you want to re-experience the series.
-
-
Boichi going for two serializations at once, sure is a ten billion percent crazy thing to do^^
-
Boichi is real-life Niizuma Eiji.
-
They really should have left Magma as stone.
-
He's with Gen, it's going to be fine.
-
I don't care he's with Gen. He's one of the least trustworthy and most selfish people in the series.
-
And he's pointed at two shittier characters.
-
They really should have left Magma as stone.
And Senku is using his selfishness to their advantage, just like he has in the past.
-
I’m just terrified of Mozu getting out of control, I’d be willing to de petrifying the prisioners.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
If this was another author, I’d be willing to worry about Magma, but I doubt that the gun will backfire on our heroes, and I’m certain that there won’t be a full betrayal from his side.
-
It probably doesn't matter what Magma's objective is. Even former policeman Yo had trouble with his precision and had to practice for a while. On top of that, Magma is holding the gun sideways so unless that somehow evens out the trajectories, his bullets will be all over the place
-
I love how this manga organizes its chaos.
-
After reading the spin-off, I wonder if Why-Man could be an A.I.
-
Maintenance. It's either self suficient (and another piece of magical technology like the petrification device), or there is a civilization mantaining it, making it irrelevant for it to be an IA.
-
! I didn't really understand Hyouga's motivation for siding with Senku. At most I see him disliking Mozu for being shallow, but then what stops him from killing or subjugating Senku and the others? Or maybe he's just happy because his face got fixed and doesn't care anymore.
-
Russian Spirit!
-
! Ryushi. "All women are queens!"
-
Enjoyed Gen not having a clue what to do for once.
Story does have a bit of the ole One Piece problem in that it doesn't like keeping villains as villains.

I'm okay with that. Especially since most of the cast are technically just teenagers.
-
Break week, but: https://readms.net/r/drstone_reboot/05/6364/1
Did Rei just went straight to Mars or something?
-
I have zero percent interest in this side story. I'd be more interested in seeing where these other humans came from of they weren't related to Senku village. Surely there's humans that also broke out somewhere on earth.
-
I don't think the side story is even canon, it's just abous ISS and space trivia stuff. I thought Rei was thinking of an asteroid or comet.
Random people over the world working with nital would have been depetrified instantly, but I don't think that will be taken into account. Just like I accepted that every structure that isn't a copper buddha was completely erased.
People from the Soyuz island have descendants from the initial space crew that never left for mainland Japan, which is the more reasonable option (we know the current civilization started there). Though they do look different from Ishigami.
-
Finally caught up from 125 and that felt good. This might be a top 3 arc for me. I didn't think Hyouga would be used during this Treasure island adventure, but it was perfect timing. To be honest, I didn't think this arc would get so drastic until the 1st batch of the crew got petrified. Hyouga's face being healed after being brought back slipped my mind. I loved how Ibara hurried out, it was hilarious. Man, those panels of Kinrou being serious (100% of the time) always impress me, even though it's the same.
Mozu looks like he's too much for Hyouga. Homura might have to pull something off

I hope they announce the 2nd anime season for next year.Huh? Did the season end? I thought it was an ongoing series.
-
Season ends with ep. 24. And I will miss it. The manga is there, but still..
-
Ibara's cunning might make him the best villain of the series.
The latest chapter of the spin-off manga is the best so far, even though it's weird Rei doesn't know the average life expectancy of humans. But, yeah, it's for dramatic effect I guess.
-
Didn’t Ibara just petrify everyone? How many of his kingdom were still in the boat/safe?
-
I think most of the natives are on the boat. He ordered them off the island chapters ago.
