@Shiebs:
Kinda like how a guy who bite his tongue and was pronounced dead came back to life two chapters later with his tongue back in place
There’s like tons of more examples of this in the series but I’m feeling particularly lazy today so I leave it with just that one
When a character suffers heavy casualties after said event, it's not really ambiguous to know what happened to the body.
The bombs were also strapped near his chest after all.
EDIT: Let's also not forget that Pedro already had decades of his life removed from his body. He didn't have much longer to live.

@Deicide:
Honest question: how do you see Carrot beating Peros' candy?
To me, Sanji vs. Perospero seems likely, even if it's not Sanji's main fight, because:
- As you said, fire is the only known weakness of the Candy Fruit. While it gives an advantage to Sanji, it doesn't make Perospero useless. I don't see how Carrot can fare better against Perospero than Brook or Chopper did. Maybe pure brute force can break it as well, but Carrot is not that type of fighter either.
- Sanji feels responsible for Pedro's death. I saw that moment with Carrot comforting Sanji as a possible sign that he may be the one to avenge Pedro.
- Perospero also was the one to imobilize the Vinsmokes and produce the candy bullets. That gives him an advantage over Sanji's raid suit. Plus, if the Vinsmokes' fate is grim, Perospero would probably be the one to gloat over it to Sanji.
- Perospero was the biggest bad guy after Big Mom in WCI that is in Wano. WCI was Sanji's arc. He being the one to deal with Perospero would be fitting.
- Thematically speaking, Perospero's power is food related. And Sanji is the one that deals with food.
Those are my basic thoughts.
Now, Carrot, I could see her fighting Daifuku, as she was the one to stop his fleet and humiliate him in WCI. Also, Daifuku's powers seem more fitting for Carrot's skill set, as her agility and floating abilities could be essential to evade the genie and reach Daifuku.
There's a difference between a character fighting another character and a character beating that character.
I believe Carrot is going to end up in a confrontation with the guy who was basically responsible for her mentor's death. Is she gonna beat him? Debatable. Is she gonna fight him? Highly likely. Strength difference never mattered to Carrot anyways.
This seems pretty indicative that there's gonna be a confrontation between the 2.
!
EDIT: Besides, she could attempt to use her Electro to smelt the candy.
