Yikes, I'm so sorry you have to deal with that; it's bad enough to hear from the loud, rambling idiots everywhere who think all this is overblown, but having to get that from within your family too seriously stinks. I'm pretty lucky in that respect since my only family members who feel like that are extended family who are assholes that I don't like and don't talk to anyway, haha; my immediate family of my mom, dad, sister, and I are all on the same page about this, especially since my mom is probably a "high risk" target of COVID.
My sister's boyfriend has a family like that, though; his mom just celebrated her birthday and pretty much made all of her many kids and stepkids and their spouses come from various places to visit her, social distancing be damned. And then his workplace (a bank) is also one of those that's going to make him come back into the office the very first day restrictions start being lifted, even though he's perfectly capable of working from home; in fact, they've been pestering him the entire time he has been working from home, asking "When will you be back in the office?", even though, again, he doesn't need to be. So between both of those things, he and my sister both have enough potential exposure that they can't visit my parents for the foreseeable future even though she lives just a mile away from them.
So yeah, it's incredibly frustrating to, even if you wanna do the right thing, have a workplace that doesn't let you even when they totally could, or have family or friends who dismiss how bad things are and/or don't take proper measures, or at least don't want to. Even though–shocker!--the states that have been opening things up more freely have had a far more rapidly rising case count. E.g. Georgia and Texas. At one point, Michigan (my original home state where the aforementioned family still lives) was #3 in the country in terms of case count, but after several other states blew past 'em, Mich was sitting solidly at #7 for a little while. But now they're at #8, cuz Texas passed them too.
