This overdue reparation is all I care about, really.
Although those ultimate moves also look sick.
Mixed feelings about this Kasumi thief look (do we know her codename already?). It's look good by itself, but it feels like a she-Joker.

Yeah, like… that's exactly the purpose of her character design, mate.

Monika!
I shouldn't be too surprised with the outfit.
At least that "S" doesn't stand for "Strategy" like some assumed, meaning the Devil Survivor series lives on! (in my heart)
Least I won't have to triple dip for the main game technically…
Still a sucker for Muso games so Atlas will have my money
And here I was hoping for a new Scramble game but Persona themed
Do Not Pursue Haru
When I read "scrambles" I actually thought it was a Persona themed Scrabble game. Needless to say I ended up liking what we got much more…
Lu bu is going to be a persona, not a character.
This announcement is actually more boring to me than a mere Switch port of the main game would've been.
Can't wait to see the asshurt over who doesn't get added to the roster :ninja:
Maid Kawakami or there will be riots.
I'm already having anxiety because I'm not sure I can justify dropping another 100+ hours on persona 5 but I kind of want to despite a lot of the shitty things in it, it's still a pretty meaningful franchise to me.
the p5 new female character is basically p3p femc drawn in p5 artstyle isn't it?

I'm pretty sure the Persona 3 FeMC is still doing jail time over than Ken thing.

I wanna say if that's the case the the guy main character of 3 should be in jail given his relationship with Maiko…..but then I remembered he dead.
If you look closely, you will notice
! Black Akechi.
…...so we get to go through Madarame's dungeon again?........so long they made the boss battle less tedious.
If you look closely, you will notice

Confirmed playable in Akechi's trailer
New Gameplay / Cut-scene trailer for Persona 5 Scramble:
So, it's a warriors game, that much we know…But it also seems like they kept a lot of stuff reminiscent of the original game, and not just aesthetically.
We'll see how it turns out, but so far it looks pretty great!
I wonder if I’m already back to accepting one of these after being musoed out by hyrule/fire emblem/one piece.
If they keep making the shonen jump crossovers with spectacle over substance, they should up the spectacle to musou levels instead of the undercooked games.
That trailer's definitely made a lot more people warm up towards this game. The game looking more action RPG-inspired definitely helps it stand out a lot compared to many of the other Musou titles that have been flooding the place lately and the busman's holiday premise looks like it could be a fun one. I'm already planning to get Pirate Warriors 4 next year so I don't know if I'll be getting two Musou games so close to one another but they definitely look different enough that burnout should hopefully not be too much of an issue if I do.
The English release date for P5R is March 31, 2020.
Imma need to get that special edition. Methinks FF7 can wait til it drops in price…

So now we have even more confirmation of the the P3 Remake which “hopefully” includes the content from FES & Portable.
And another Persona 5 game…..yay. And for the record I like 5 but that’s now 5 games in 8/9 years.
Maybe this time I finally get into P3. Third time is the charm?
(EDIT: Apparently not. Xbox exclusive)
And now that I am reminded of this series, gotta spend the entire day with its soundtrack playing on the background.
Pretty sure it’s a timed exclusive Altus isn’t dumb enough to keep this game on a system that’s never done well in their home market.
A Spanish retailer has spotted a Switch listing, it seems
Edit: uh, nevermind I guess?
atlus is the Bethesda of japan
It's been said that this is meant to be a remake of OG P3, so it won't be including FES or female char. I haven't played P3 at all so I don't have any attachment to the extended content, so we'll see what they decide to do with this card in their hands.
Booooooo
We've already seen that they're including controllable secondary characters (the most important change) and some of the extra cutscenes.... so it seems like mostly what they'll be leaving out is the female protag (lame) and The Answer (good riddance) . I have to assume they'll be leaving in the Aegis social link and a lot of the other QoL. It'll be closer to the PSP release than the vanilla original.
It makes sense to not port 100% of the bonus content, as that is a LOT of extra work in Persona's case. Losing the female protag sucks but it makes sense given... that's basically a whole second game of secondary quests and cut scenes to deal with. Can easily see it being DLC later.
So a quick search for my curiosity, looks like we're getting all new Voice actors too for the game? I was originally curious just for Junpei, but it looks like it's everyone will be new. That'll be...interesting.
I’m fine with it not that the original cast was bad or anything. But if Aegis in particular is written by default to not speak robotically like she did for much of the original game I’m fine with it.
Some behind the scenes thing. The P3 port was on sale but I'm holding out for this one, not sure if I want to experience it on PS5 or PC yet. I have some weird mix (P5 on PS4, P3G and P5S on Steam) but I'd like to centralize something here. Because if my PC can't run P3 well then maybe it's best to make the PS5 my Persona machine...
Am i the only one that dislike the vividness of it all? This feels like P3 with P5 skin on it. Tartarous looks a little too bright for me, the art looks too clean and commercialized, and the city looks so p5-ish. I played P3,4, and 5 and each of them feels like an artistically different direction and I know that the graphics/assets are mostly the same between P4 and 3 but even then i could feel how different the two titles are.
P3 felt dark and not just in the sense of tartarous but rather even in broad daylight moments there's this sense of foreboding and saturation (due to the colors) to it. It might be cause of the dated graphics but the city never felt vivid to me. The marketing and UI also feels a lot like P5 which irks me.
It's..hard to put into words but this feels like P3 in P5 coat of paint to me.
Oh it most definitely is Persona 3 done in the style of Persona 5.
I'm so conflicted with P3R. I've been wanting to experience the story again, since while unimpressed when I played originally, it's been over a decade and I have come to a point where I would be able to appreciate more of what the story was conveying. With this release, some of the gameplay aspects wouldn't stand out as much as the PS2 version did. That said, the little tidbits here and there just don't have me wanting to get on it day one. So for now, waiting to hear impressions and either wait on a sale so not paying full price, or perhaps go with P3P, where I can play the other MC route and still enjoy the ability to control party members. The lack of exploring in person outside of Tartarus isn't a huge issue for me with P3P.
P3P was my first persona ever so for what it was worth, it cut down the fat and improved on a lot of things. Streamlined, even.
But P3R is beautiful, so you'll miss that and there's little chance you'll pick up 3R after 3P because of burnt out.
The exploring isn't that big of a deal but it does give the sense of space and better immersion. P3P's female route almost feels like a completely different game.
For P3P though, the "more story" part is not necessarily guaranteed because most people get burnt out after finishing it once. People who talk about P3's female route are usually those who played the original or hardcore fans. From a first-timer experience, I'm not going back just to try the FeMC route. And I consider myself a fan.
If you want things to feel modern and look beautiful with modern UI, then P3R is a good choice. The mobs are updated and look extremely well done. You lose the overall doomsday atmosphere for a more, persona 5, vivid and bright atmosphere. Cutscenes/Social link scenes are also fully voiced, unlike P3P which does it in short chunks.
It boils down to whether you'll be able to appreciate the graphics of P3P after how great P5 looks. If you can, then the exploring is a pretty non-issue. But once again, keep in mind that P3P only has more content IF you can do two run-throughs. Other than that, the new P3R has added content to side stories, more personas, and Tartarus character events(not in OG).
Getting P3R and just watching the FeMC cutscenes on YouTube is always an option. The style in newer persona games IS a strong contender to consider. We are talking about combat finishers, portrait statuses, and a smoother fusing experience. Quality of life things that doesn't make grinding and exploring Tartarus a chore.
After getting the gist of what all Reload offers, I opted to go with P3P and go the female route, since I did the full male route before on the ps2 version. Perhaps in the future if I want to experience the game again and it's on sale, I'll play reloaded.
Was considering using a 100% guide but decided that I'll just use a guide for correct answers for school and social links but decide how I'll go from day to day. I did a 100% guide for Golden, but I had played that many times before and after a while, it gets rough for me to have to read and follow the guide from day to day. I've put a little over an hour into the game, and I feel like they did a really good job adapting it to the PSP. Sure, you lose exploring on foot outside of Tartarus and lack cutscenes, but they do a solid job with the limitations to make things creepy and nail the atmosphere of everything.
