Other than that, I think they'll continue the fighter/mage/thief theme they've had going since XY.
I didn't know this was a thing

Which would hopefully not lead to it having steel as a secondary type.
Steel/Fire is a pretty amazing typing. Only 3 weaknesses, although yeah 4x to Ground but in exchange for a ton of resistances (including multiple 4x resists) and an immunity. Part of why Heatran is so OP.
Bring back regional forms pls…
I will be so pissed if that doesn't happen. It was a fantastic way to create "new" Pokemon while giving old ones new leaves on life while keeping the 'dex numbers down.
Unless the starter gets Heatran stats I wouldn't wish Fire/Steel unto it.
Considering Scorbunny looks is going to have a real good speed stat because of its soccer theme, Fire/Steel would be a fantastic combo IMO.
I don't mind the regional variants coming back, but I'm hoping none of them are for Kanto Pokemon, enough is enough, 3 years of pandering(since Pokemon Go started) is making me tired of all this, but Mewtwo is getting a movie so its probably happening once again.
I want new Mega evolutions, but I'm starting to think it might only happen years from now in a Kalos remake.
With the first batch of regionals being exclusively Kanto (not mostly, not almost entirely, but exclusively), I always had the feeling if it came back it would move on to Johto. Then Hoenn, and like that.
And I seriously hope it comes back, it was a full hit, and I honestly hope we don't have each generation introducing something new like that (mega, regionals, then what now) or it will very soon turn into such a mess.
Anyways, I am having my share of fun looking at starter evolutions fanarts.
Regional variants came to stay, that was the idea.
But we're not in Alola anymore, so unless they imported Galar is going to be populated by entirely new regional variants.
I wonder how Phil is doing.
What the shit? I could swear I posted that on Promised Neverland thread.
Promised X Pokemon confirmed. Is Phil's Psyduck the traitor?
Mother uses a very creepy Blissey.
Everybody thinks that Sister Crone has a Jynx, but it's actually a disguised Frostlass.
Lewis has his little monkey demon and an unerving Aipom like from the movie. He can afford a weak mon because he's frigin Lewis.
Andrew has a Trubbish because he's garbage.

! Well that looks dumb. Hopefully if not a fake then it's just the initial form.

! Might be a 1-off Pokemon as well, like Drampa and Turtonator, or Oranguru and Passimian (or Dunsparce…). No evolutions, no pre-evolutions, simply this is it

! If that's the case then I'd rather have Flygon.

I did some research of my own.

This mon is based on the Peanut Headbug, also known as the Alligator Bug. Hence the long serrated crocodilian mouth and the tear-shaped eyes.
Weird, kind of out of nowhere question:
I just happened to find Pokemon Picross was available as a free download so I got it, knowing that because it's a 'Free to Start' kind of thing it wouldn't exactly be like the free Twilight Princess Picross I got for 1000 Platinum Points from MyNintendo, but so far I'm about a dozen puzzles in and I haven't had to spend a dime to unlock anything. Does anyone happen to have any experience with this game and know exactly how far one can advance in it before not paying for it becomes impossible?

You don't ever technically have to pay for any of it, but it very quickly becomes a impossible slog that reeeeeally encourages you to. Picross is incredibly unfair about it, since you can't even replay stages to earn more points. You can do daily challenges to earn 4 or 5 points a day… when you need 80-90-300 to proceed through anything. I gave up on it when I hit that particular wall. I wasn't about to play for two months to move forward one stage. Its one of the worst F2P models I've ever seen, it basically just flat out says "You need to buy it now."
It's been a couple years since I played it, so I don't really recall the specifics of the barriers, but eventually it's just stupid. I'd say its five or six maps in you start having trouble getting enough points to unlock anything.
On the other hand, you can get ridiculously far in pokemon shuffle and spend like 100 hours on it , but the later fights and bosses especially pretty much expect you to use up and have the helper items to proceed, they're basically impossible to beat without help or super lucky rng. So it's pretty fair up to a point, and you CAN grind currency. I put enough time into it that I probably would have bought it if that were an option, but it only sells consumable materials, so you'll eventually burn through them with no guarantee of progress. It wants to be a perpetual "buy it forever" game.
Pokemon Rumble World you basically get the entire game with a really mild time lock. You can buy it in pieces if you want but it tops out at 30$ and won't let you spend any more than that, it just unlocks the whole game at that point. I actually supported and bought that one outright because it was so fair about it and done exactly right.

I just unlocked the third map so I guess I'm about halfway there before I have to leave it be, although I'm not bothered by having to wait for the energy meter to recharge. I also downloaded Shuffle but haven't tried that one yet, and Rumble World didn't look like anything I'd be interested in so I didn't bother with it. I do love Picross in general and I like how Pokemon plays it, reminds me a little of Pokemon Ranger where their 'Assist' abilities all differ. Damn, I want another Pokemon Ranger game. They haven't done one on the 3DS yet, how awesome would that be? Or for the Switch. Another Ranger and another Snap would have been amazing even on the Wii U with the Gamepad but I doubt the Switch would do it if they didn't bother with them back then when it would have been ideal and might have helped boost the Wii U's longevity.
Check my edit, I said a little bit more about it.
And if you really have a picross itch, there's like 5 other picross games on the 3DS for just a couple bucks each, though without the pokemon theme. PP is 30$, you can get 5 other titles with hundreds of puzzles for less than that.
Rumble World didn't look like my sort of thing either but I ended up really enjoying it. That it had every monster (up to that point) and they were all fairly unique was pretty sweet.

I'm at the point where I'm needing to do the daily challenges to slowly creep up to earning enough to unlock this and that, so yeah, that's irksome. Honestly, charging 24.99 for 4000 picrites is criminal. I'd probably drop $0.99 for it but that only gets you 200 or something insulting like that. So on principle, I'll keep my ill-gotten filthy lucre and just do my daily slog like I used to with Miitomo and that thing where you can tag other 3DS carriers and make puzzles or do that warrior quest thing. I'll give Rumble World a try at your advisement, I am kind of curious what new Pokemon there have been after I stopped playing post-Generation 4.
Ah, they got us again…
Just started Pokemon Shuffle and it's a lot more fun than I usually have with that kind of Jewel Quest matching thing since it's like you're actually accomplishing an objective with it, trying to knock out a Pokemon but still having enough moves left that you can capture it at the end without having to buy an Ultra Ball. It's definitely less challenging than Picross so far and it's a lot easier to accumulate points and whatnot and the daily bonus for checking in is a lot more rewarding than Picross' mediocre bonuses (although if you level up your daily challenge rank, you get more each day which is nice if you can get it above 10). Think I'll download Rumble World tonight and see what that's all about. If I have all three of those games it'll be worth picking up and playing them a little each day to accumulate the daily perks.
For some reason I'm breeding high IV pokemon, despite having no interest in competitive play. I just…want a really strong Toxapex. I have so many Mareanie's now. At the very least, they make the battle tree easier.
Also, it occurs to me that the leaked fake Pokemon probably would have been better today? I guess they wanted to make people think it was real, but if they waited a walk at least we could have a laugh at it.
What's everyone's top 10 favorite Pokémon?
Mine are
! Articuno
Vaporeon
Feraligatr
Eevee
Yveltal
Zorua
Mega Aerodactyl
Virizion
Mega Mawile
Tyrantrum
! Froslass
Sceptile
Gallade
Lycanroc Midnight
Darkrai
Primarina
Slaking
Tauros
Machamp
Feraligatr
I'm not going to spoiler my list.
1. Metagross
Sceptile
Snorlax
Aegislash
Flygon
Reuniclus
Kingdra
Scizor
Greninja
Archeops
Metagross is my favorite, the others are mostly unranked. Charizard and Zapdos would round out my dirty dozen. Also, as much as people fuss about the number of Pokemon, we only share 2 favorites between the three of us who have posted so far. I think Pokemon has always succeeded with a decent quantity of new ones.
Other than the first 3 mine are unranked as well. I've liked the quality of the last 2 gens. Not many populate my list but there are barely any lines I don't like. Chespin line and Nightmare Persian come to mind and that's it.
Archeops is a good one! It's way up there for me too.
My faves are a mix of ones I like for battle utility (mainly pre-Generation 4) and ones I just like for their aesthetic appearances.
1. Nidoking
2. Jolteon
3. Infernape
4. Empoleon
5. Skarmory
6. Mismagius
7. Dusknoir
8. Lucario
9. Rampardos
10. Scizor
Oh, and I finally downloaded Pokemon Rumble World. It's almost like a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Lite, with short burst levels instead of long winding dungeons and a set amount of things to fight. I think that's a winning formula for a F2P game and you don't even have to wait that long between hot air balloon refillings to do another level so it's way better than the energy recharge rate for Pokemon Picross.
Had to make a full 64 Pokemon double elimination bracket to help narrow down the exact ranking of my favorites.
1. Flygon
2. Aegislash
3. Greninja
4. Milotic
5. Joltik
6. Pyukumyuku
7. Breloom
8. Volcarona
9. Gligar
10. Houndoom
Hmmm. The top 3 are ranked. But after that is a huge poll I like almost equally, so the names I singled out are probably more because of the moment than those actually being above the next 10… or 15
1.Caterpie
2.Wimpod
3.Butterfree
4-10. (dex order)
Donphan
Anorith
Infernape
Volcarona
Tyrantrum
Salandit
Drampa
Currently Grookey would be on that list, but it's too early to know if it isn't just hype.
Psyduck
Donphan
Mismagius
Meowth
Mimikyu
Haunter
Shroomish
Hydreigon
Typhlosion
Meloetta
Only the first five or so are in any kind of order. Clearly, I have the finest of tastes.
Kind of in order but not really. Like, the difference between the top and bottom is significant, but not as much between 1 and 6 and so on.
Also all of these include evolutions and pre's and megas, except for Spritzee who evolves into my most hated pokemon.
Whimsicott
Spritzee
Popplio
Alolan Ninetales
Cinccino
Ribombee
Glaceon
Mawile
Ampharos
Clefairy
Latias
Sylveon
Aurorus
Brionne
Cinccino
Alolan Ninetales
Gardevoir
Mega Diance
Flygon
Shaymin land form
Latias is my fav, but the rest aren't in order.
Shoutout to Nidoqueen.
Houndoom, Pidgeot, Gengar, Clefable.
The only definites and in that order for someone who hates genwunners a lot of my favorites come from the first 2.
Growlite, Galvantula, Volcarona, Bulbasaur, Alolan Executor, Espeon, Makuhita, Milotic, Rotom, Toucannon
1-Sandshrew/Sandslash. Not a huge fan of snowshrew.
2-Emolga
3-Absol
4-Suicune
After that its complete toss ups. Mightyena, Mienshao, Ballsprout, Ludicolo, Dunsparce, Paras, Scyther, Suicune, Shaymin land form, Scolipede, Noivern, Liepard (but only with hidden ability). Starmie for oldschool utility. I like a lot of the electric mons, Luxray, Zebrastrika, Galvantuala, Helioptile, Tegedamaru.
I suck at favorites. I could answer the same question different ways every time, and not even notice. But let's try writing out 10:
Dugtrio
Alolan Marowak
Sharpedo
Toxapex
Serperior
Gliscor
Gengar
Umbreon
Cloyster
Salazzle
Dark is probably my favorite type and I could easily do 10 just of that. Or any type for that matter, or of any number of categories like by generation.
In no particular order:
Articuno
Giratina
Darkrai
Sharpedo
Tropius
Genesect
Onix
Ampharos
Shaymin land form
Infernape
Also I didn't include legendaries etc. because that's like a special category / "cheating". Of those my favorites are Yveltal and (Primal) Kyogre.
My top favorite Pokemon are (I go by design, not battle usefulness - and these are not particularly in order):
1. Cubone
2. Fletchling
3. Sawsbuck
4. Houndoom
5. Sylveon
6. Alolan Vulpix
7. Glaceon
8. Samurott
9. Zebstrika
10. Ponyta
There are still so many I love beyond that, though! I actually did this very time consuming Favorite Pokemon thing (which I could still keep on going lol), if anyone wants to see more of my favorites or try this for themselves.
This is a good site to figure out what pokemon might be your favorites: https://www.dragonflycave.com/favorite.html
