Any Chance Star wars or Marvel will be in this game?
-Woody's voice acting is kinda iffy, but I guess you just can't replace Tom Hanks.
Nobody can.
@Cyan:
Rex can't even beat Bahamut at Level 47, what a casual smh
Ohhhhh, that looks so much fun. But . . . that is a weird Ariel summon.

DA FUQ?
! Not to mention the music for this world is really good.
! Hey, it's basically the Toy Story theme. Nothing fancy.
DA FUQ?
Nomura must have seen everyone's reaction to that 2B dollfie thing and thought 'I could make a boss fight out of that.'
What better boss for a toy story world than a terryfiying toy.
I appreciate the very brief glimpse into the metaphysics of Toy Story with Woody's "Oh he just hasn't figured out he's alive" line.
And Buzz with the morality of attacking a toy that it's being controlled and not "started in battle mode".

! Aye, but it's so nice to hear Yoko Shimamura's rendition of it.
Watching the video, thinking, "that looks really fun to play."
Then I remembered how impenetrable and dumb the stories got and how much dialogue and cutscene there was in the last few games I attempted.
…choices.

"Here we go, stealing the darkness from toys now, because there exists nothingness in their original forms, and stealing a heart from nothing is how we create kingdom hearts"
Or something

Wanna RPG with a story? Yup
Is it gonna make sense? Nope
Wanna RPG with a story? Yup
Is it gonna make sense? Nope
But, I mean, it's genuinely one of the worst mainstream JRPG stories. It's genuinely nonsensical, and it's all compounded by the fact that it's supposed to be this fun Disney-and-Squeenix romp.
How in the world did Disney ever arrive at partnering with Square-Enix in the first place?
Someone probably played FFVII or IX and thought to themselves wouldn't it be a crazy idea to make a game like that but with Disney characters?
Plot and overall Continuity didn't matter from the outset I suppose. So as we got Mickey and Cloud.
I wouldn't say the story is that nonsensical. Convoluted and clunky sure but really it's about as easy to understand as most Final Fantasy plots. I feel a lot of the confusion comes from the story spanning over multiple games across multiple different consoles. If you play them all it is relatively easy to understand, except most people don't play all the games which is perfectly understandable because a lot of them aren't very fun to play.
I'm hoping the Disney worlds in 3 play into the story a lot more than they did in previous games. A lot of the time the Disney worlds just feel so disconnected from what's going on with the ret of the game and just end up being a crappy retelling of their respective movie, i.e Mulan world in KH2. The most fun stuff is when they meld into what's going on with the story and don't just feel like a pointless side piece like the Tron world or all the stuff that goes on in Hollow Bastion. o basically I want Xehanort talking to Zurg about toys creating darkness in children's heart or some shit.
Yeah it's a pretty easy story.
Basically
See? Easy and definitely is absolutely not nonsensical as I was typing it out.
Yup and Sora and the gang are gonna stop him, easy-peasy.
But for real that is pretty much the gist of Xehanort's goals and you can get all that just from playing BBS and DDD. I just don't get how it's any more confusing than something like Final Fantasy 10's plot.
A teenager and his dog and useless duck friend set out to murder the fuck out of a bunch of evil people.
!
Aside from spreading its ad-libbed sotry across multiple games, platforms and timeline points, Kingdom Hearts needlessly overcomplicates itself due to how many times it iterates on the exact same characters and concepts. Ever since the first one its been an ouroboros of lore-rehashing and re-visiting, to an degree that'd put Star Wars to shame.
I mean you have Vanilla Sora, who was Heartless Sora for a brief time (not to be confused with the Heartless Doppelganger Sora you fight in Neverland). This Sora had Kairis heart lodging inside him for a good while.
Then theres Nobody-Sora, with an X in his name.
Theres original flavor Nobody Sora who also was inside Sora, and influenced the appearance of Nobody Sora
Theres the Evil version of the above who looks like Regular Sora and not Nobody Sora because reasons, and who dresses like Evil Riku because shut up
Theres Female Nobody Copy Sora, an copy of Nobody Sora who takes after Kairis appearance, are you keeping notes
Theres data Sora, a copy of original Sora, not like the Riku copy made by Organization XIII, that was a different kind of copy.
You need flowcharts to keep track of the Soras and Xehanorts!
Beyond that, Kingdom Hearts has an insane disconnect between the lightness of its presentation and subject matter, and the unfathomable pretentiousness of its execution. You have beloved Disney characters speaking dialogue that sounds straight out of the Star Wars prequels, and the generic terms of "Light! Heart! Darkness! are so vaguely defined and interchangably used that it becomes frustrating rather than charming. At one point in Birth By Sleep, Terra protects some pirate gold because the extremely contrived dialogue makes him mistake the treasure for the abstract concept of "Light!"
Of course, when you boil down Kingdom Hearts to "Good guys fight bad guy" it seems straightforward, but you could do the same with Bleach, which is an absolute storytelling nightmare. And much like Bleach, Kingdom Hearts has developed a chronic disability to satisfyingly pace and conclude its stories, beyond the very first one.
Kingdom Hearts is a door. No, it’s a moon. No, it’s a
Just let the Honest Trailer do all the talking.
Journey across the Disney universe to track down Kingdom Hearts and defeat the evil Ansem who is not the real Ansem, but Xehanort's Heartless who is also named "Ansem". The real Ansem is named DiZ, but his apprentice, Xehanort, stole his identity after Master Xehanort forced his soul into the body of Terra. Who's Terra, you ask? Terra, along with Aqua and Ven, were originally tasked by Master Eraqus to defeat Master Xehanort. The real Ansem was actually a good guy. Once you beat Ansem who is Xehanort's Heartless, you have to fight Xemnas, Xehanort's Nobody. Nobodies are created when someone turns into a Heartless. They don't have feelings, except when they actually do. They want Hearts, so Xehanort, who is actually Terra-Xehanort, went back in time to find several copies of Xehanort. Also, Donald Duck is in it.

That's pretty much me.
LOL. I'm actually tempted to get the Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 Remix to get "up to snuff". Because the only Kingdom Hearts game I actually played is Chain of Memories, while I watched my college roommate play KHII. The rest of Kingdom Hearts I got blabbered at by my later roommate. Because Disney and Squeenix.
There is also the fact that there are two sets of 7 lights and 13 darkness, the seven princesses, the seven keyblade masters and at this point the seven pieces of sora (sora, even, roxas, xion, vanitas, aros and dark goofy) vs the organization 13 and the 13 xehanorts, and that there is overlap between many of these groups. I'm waiting for supreme evil Snow White to be the final Xehanort or something.
Also the needless distinction between pure heartless and crafted ones, and how a being called heartless is made of heart and darkness, and beings called nobodies are made of bodies and souls but not hearts, and souls aren't important.
Honestly is convoluted but not particularly so. Its just cheap as every new piece has no relation with what was before, like the recontextualization of the organization, or how there are 2 (or 3?) Kingdom hearts.
and at this point the seven pieces of sora (sora, even, roxas, xion, vanitas, aros and dark goofy)
sad thing is this story’s so convoluted this doesn’t sound farfetched (think only 4 of those are true)

Sora: our base boy
Ven: another independent boy, who got his existence separated in two, he's consired the "light side", so we might have another one here, his heart went into sora because why not.
Vanitas: the affermentioned dark side, probably a Xehanort
Roxas: Sora's nobody, member of organization XIII, looks like Ven because the heart thing, "special nobody" because all the nobody rules (as in they have no emotions, they remember their whole past lives, they can't wield keyblades) don't apply to him because reasons (sora gave up his heart himself? Ven's piggybacking? Kairi's piggybacking? Idunno)
Xion: Sora's data clone, without a true identity of them own, decides to become Kairi (or Idunno) because reasons, as she was made of Sora's memories themselves (and migth be the cause of Roxas's amnesia), the 14th member of organization XIII, made as a backup of Roxas.
Aros: Sora from the subconcious realm, an edgier version of Sora, created as a mirror immage of him, dies in a boat accident.
Dark Goofy: The acumulation of excess of the darkness of the team, born out of the fakeout of Goofy's "death" during the 1k heartless battle, created by the friction of breaking the wall of worlds, and Disney characters saying "Sora, Donald, Goofy" over and over again, and straining suspention of disbelief, takes the form of Goofy, with Donnald's voice and Sora's clumsiness.
There also is a Data Sora from that mobile game tie-in.
Damnit, I will have to remove the fake soras at this rate!
Anti Sora of Neverland doesn't count, as I think that it's just a shadow that is made to look like Sora.
The giant dark Sora of DDD might count, as he's the thing at the bottom of Sora's heart/dreams.
And Sora as a shadow heartless, might be the same as Giant Dark Sora.
…crap.
That's pretty much me.
You're better than me I only played 2.

10's story wasn't really confusing just…. bizarre and weird.
Re-posting these videos for relevancy
Damn, super tempted to get at least 2.5remix before the game comes out. I heard Critical is a lot of fun.
The only ones I really want to play are KH2 and Birth By Sleep. I could care less about 358/2 Days. My roommate filled me in on the story and that's all I need.
Yup and Sora and the gang are gonna stop him, easy-peasy.

That was the most bare version of a summary I could give and even then I couldn't explain the stupidity behind any of these plans and why they even work out or how any of this works out.
If you buy the 1.5 + 2.5 release, 358/2 and Coded are condensed into movies.
By this point, anyone who left off at 2 will be asking, "Who is Xehanort? Why are Ansem and Xemnas back? Why is there a teenage Xehanort? Who's Aqua, Terra, and Ventus? What's even the plot mover here at this point? Why are there a bunch of people that happen to look like Sora?"
Did coded do anything? Barelly remember Pete and Maleficent getting into trouble and having to bail them out. And the journal of plot hints.
365/2 retconed itself into irrelevance, being mostly a fluf piece for the Organization, it's not very interesting unless you like the members of the org from 2. The ones from CoM are there like for 10 missions.
I kinda want to play CoM for playstation, I played and enjoyed the GBA version, before any other KH game.
If anyone wants to play the 1.5+2.5 remix for plot reasons, you will still be severely lost without playing kh:3D
Critical path are 1, 2, DDD and BBS.
CoM is mostly fluf that get explained in 2 anyways, 365 is more fluf on fluf action, and coded I still can't remember what actually happened.
Some Disney and Square higher-ups once took the same elevator and chatted for a bit.
From wikipedia:
"The initial idea for Kingdom Hearts began with a discussion between Shinji Hashimoto and Hironobu Sakaguchi about Super Mario 64.[107] They were planning to make a game with freedom of movement in three dimensions like Super Mario 64 but lamented that only characters as popular as Disney's could rival a Mario game. Tetsuya Nomura, overhearing their conversation, volunteered to lead the project and the two producers agreed to let him direct.[107] A chance meeting between Hashimoto and a Disney executive in an elevator—Square and Disney had previously worked in the same building in Japan—allowed Hashimoto to pitch the idea directly to Disney."
I always though the story to be a bit confusing but usually the important moments are well presented.
You may not completly understand the bad guys plan but you see friendships and bonds clearly and heartfully evolving during the time you spent trying to stop it.
Kairi's outfit has been Datamined from the Online game:
!
Nice boots.
I hope the skirt doesn't end up being too lolita poofy.
Fake, severe lack of belts and zippers

KH3’s designs are unified by an abundance of plaid instead of zippers.
John Goodman and Billy Crystal are confirmed to not be voicing Mike and Sulley in Kingdom Hearts 3.

We got John Goodman in Cars: Race-o-Rama and Bee Movie: The Game, but not a Kingdom Hearts game. I guess he's too busy acting in Roseanne nowadays lol.

awwwww, hopefully we still get John C. Riley for Ralph : (
But I've been searching around, and apparently it is Tim Allen for Buzz?
Tim Allen and James Woods were easily available because they don't have careers outside of complaining all day that they've been blacklisted.
That and James Woods loves being Hades.

I hate it when my gut feeling is right.
My gut is also telling me that the guy playing Buzz in KH3 isn't Tim Allen.
